600W HPS, Is it ok for veg?

I need some input on veging with 600 W HPS? I cant afford a MH right now. should I get a 125W or 200W fluoresent light for that?

Yes you can flower with HPS. Is it optimal? Not really although you can get HPS bulbs that are more in the blue range that veg plants love. If you are strapped for cash go with it. The nodes will be a further apart.

plants ****in love it.
just be careful you dont bleach em with it.. let em get use to it 1st

I'm using a 600w hps right now and my plants seem to be loving it. My beans popped around the first of this month, I had em under flouro's for about 10 or so days and they've been under a 600w hps since. Good luck to ya!

Just go with what ya got. I went for my first 5 years using a 400w HPS that was salvaged from a demolition job. Cost me $20 and I got about 5-6 spare bulbs as well. I grew some cannabis cup quality weed on a system that cost me less than $100 in total. (well I think it was all that good anyways.. IMHO)
There is an endless amount of money you can spend on growing apparatus.. and always someone to tell you why you absolutely have to have some certain magic gadget or potion that will guarantee you stronger bud, fewer mites, fame, fortune, better orgasms, and a larger penis. Some people like to have something to spend money on. So good for them. There are some good threads on here that tell how to do it simply, easily,and economically. Check out the various grower forums.

If you went out and bought every device, potion, gadget and the like you wouldn't have room to grow your girls.

I am vegging 12 under 4 x 600 HPS. One strain is a bit leggy, with the Hindu Kush and T44 x white widow short and bushy with very close nodes. Don't worry---be happy--just do it !
