Hey guys,
I've gone a little bit of digging but wanted to try and pick some brains on here...
I have two ballasts which were lightly used, then packed away for another grow and here we are....they have come out of the box with problems.
These are Solis-Tek 400/600Watt ballasts. I have noticed that one of them at some point leaked a black substance... but it runs at full strength without problems I am just concerned that tar is a sign of an issue.
The next ballast starts to ignite the bulb then stops firing... tried with multiple bulbs and same thing. I opened them up and the first looks good inside, the second it looks as though there is a connection of 4 wires that connect a component to a board that has been touching a hot part inside the ballast. It looks as though it could be an easy fix...but how reliable/safe is it to fix or use these after repairing/having them leak?
