4k on 1 outlet

how can i hook up 4 600watts on 1 timer? would they all be on the same outlet then (just 4k to be safe) this would be around what 36amps? n e ways how could i do this?

Yeah you setup a hardwired timer board 40 amps, And then you run the line out from the timer board into a junction box where you connect multiple outlets too...

You can never put 4k on the same outlet, Thats a fire waiting to happen!
 
I agree, you need to spead out the power through seperate breakers.
i'm sure some stoned sparky can help you with this design.
find out what your panel is rated for (60 amp, 100 amp, 200 amp ect.)
this will help get things started for those smart people who do this kind of work. good luck.

Run a 30a/240v circuit to the room and terminate the run into a Intermatic WH40 or T104 timer. There is no reason to use 120v if your gonna run a new circuit...

Like Sandman said, using a dryer plug at 220 is the best best. A nice cheap and safe timer board can be made from parts from Home Depot or any good hardware store. You should be able to find out on these forums how it's done. Just recently there was a good thread. Good luck!

ok thx for all your help i knew i wouldent get them all on 1 outlet that would be crazy just wanted them all to be hooked to same timer..will be asking more q's when i get more in to it.. thanks

I know we used a cheap timer to run a relay, which ran 3 1k. each light was on its own circuit.
