Hello fellow IC members. Although I've been browsing ICmag for 2-3 years now, this will be my first time actually making my own thread. I have a few micro grows under my belt so I figured i know at least enough to not embarrass myself in front of the pros! Lol. I am only 20 years old now so if you notice a lack of experience that would be why so ANY input would be much appreciated.
I've recently read mariematt's thread on pH and in beginning he states "A GOOD GROWER HAS LEARNED, A GREAT GROWER NEVER STOPS LEARNING." I do not know if these are his words but regardless, it's a very humbling and truthful statement. Anyways I'm excited to finally be able to share my set up w/ everyone.
SO ROLL UP A FATTY, PULL UP A CHAIR, AND ENJOY THE SHOW!!!
My Setup:
FLOWER CAB
My buddy does construction and is somewhat familiar w/ carpentry so i had him build me a cabinet. Cost was about $80. I still need to set up screens... I know I'm lagging it.
Area: Width 36”, Depth 20”, Height 48”
Lighting: 400w HPS/MH w/ dimmable ballast
Ventilation: 1x 4” 265cfm Dayton Blower for exhaust, 2x 3’ passive intakes
Medium: 2/3 Ocean Forest, 1/3 perlite, 2tbs/g Dolomite Lime
Nutes: Fox Farm- Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom, Grow Big, Beastie Bloom, and Cha Ching, Super Thrive
Strains: 4x Blue Dream, 1x Obama OG, 1x Platinum OG
Pot Sizes: 6x 2 gallon
Note: I am missing a couple products in the line (Sledgehammer and Open Sesame.) After this grow i will most likely be switching over to coco w/ Flora Nova nutes so figured might as well just save money.
MOTHER BOX
Yes i copied the design from LifeLess (thanks LL.) Although His setup is much cleaner this one does the job well. Made with 2x 18g rubbermaids.
Strains: OG, Blue Dream, Platinum OG, Obama OG
Lighting: 2x 23w 6500K CFLs, 1x 26w 2700k CFL
Ventilation: 1x 4" Computer fan for exhaust, 1x 2" passive intake
CLONE BOX
For cloning I use a bubble cloner with 6 sites and a bubble bar. It sits inside of a gutted computer case that i used to use for micro grows. Roots in 5-14 days depending on strain.
Lighting: 1x 13w CFL
Air pump: 30g-50g dual pump (Wal-Mart)
Reservoir: 2.5L
Ventilation: Regular comp fan, passive intake
Water: Tap Water pH ~8.0
Note: Sometimes i will use pH down to bring the pH to ~7.0 and maybe even add a drop of Superthrive, but for some reason I've noticed the cuttings root faster with just straight tap water.
