this was my second grow ever, second time in this space, and second time growing out this widow cut.
3/4 plants this round were this ww cut i got from a local dispensary (1/4 was a crappy cut from some other dispensary).
i'm very happy with this widow plant. she is a good all-around smoke, potent and tasty. also as a plant she is happy and adaptable. doesn't stress out even under adverse conditions (like the 2 or 3 weeks i was dealing with above 90* temps in the cab this summer).
i put a cut of her outside at the beginning of the summer and you can see she loves to be outdoors as well. check out my "balcony" link in my sig if you wanna see more

high man, ...don't sweat whether or not you think your grow measures up, everyone has to start somewhere and if you don't share what you're doing nobody will be able to offer any suggestions.
...anyway, these White Rhino's were grown in 2liter Coke-bottle coco hempy-'buckets' under a 400CMH inside a SuperSun II air-cooled reflector, ...they were fed K.I.S.S. style and yielded just shy of 2 zips per 2liter 'pot'.

This strain is Godberry x Grapefruit, a strain I made myself. I still have beans of these too. It yielded just a hair under 130 grams. I needed to be vegged for a couple more weeks to fill the screen and grow a little further through it. Things were getting backed up in the veg space so it had to be flowered.
here's a few pics of my cab with a 430w hortilux eye running in a sunsystems blazer hood, over a 22x30 inch box. im now running about 15 plants per square foot, wich amounts to two beds of 35 in a 2 cycle perpetual, with a harvest every 28 days and 56 days budding total, i'm running mostly c99 with a little skunk in there. the left side has about 2 weeks left till harvest, and the right side is about 2 weeks into budding from clone...the left side is at my old plant density, 4 rows of 6 equaling 24 plants, but as you can see when they are almost ripe, they have way too much space in there, so my next round has 35, right now i yeild between 5-6 ounces a month, or 12 ounces overall, but with 35 plants at the same yeild i am getting now i'll be easily breaking one gram per watt.
with higher yielding strains like my old ak47 i could have the plants almost double their weight, i can only fit 24 in there but at twice the weight i can make 1 gram per watt without even trying, right now i'm not worried about yield per plant, just yield per square foot, so more plants to the foot means i can yield almost as well with a lower yielding strain as i can i higher yielding strain
also the reason my leaves are showing heat stress is a week or two ago my hood came loose from the fan and fell on my girls, it laid there smooshing them for almost an hour before i realized it, with no air cooling, several chunks had to be removed because they dried up and burned, but it's almost hard to tell now, most of the buds have recovered, and only a few look like multiheaded freaks...

I figure it would be a good amount cooler. But much less light as you probably know... Just having a fan blow over the bulb/canopy is enough to displace the heat, but ventilation and ambient temp is just as important.
Here's my last 400w grow. CMH/HPS. Strain was Power Kush and yielded over 350g. Easily could have gone over 400 if I had more clones.

Plenty of folks use $20 bulbs with the same results as $120 bulbs.
Proper feeding, temps and genetics will do much much more than a bulb, keep that in mind!
ya maybe for the first month, after that cheepo bulbs start dropping off quick, try measuring a 90 dollar hortilux eye after 10 months use and a cheepo bulb after the same...then you will realize why it's worth it to use a good bulb!
of course also you need to change a cheep bulb every two months to come even close to the output that a hortilux will put out for an entire year. because of that it will take 6 bulbs or $120 a year to run cheep bulbs, but only 1 bulb at $90 a year to run a hortilux or other high end brand, so you save money and get more reliable output.
then of course there is spectrum, cheep bulbs have a bad spectrum, sure they work, but a hortilux eye has not only the reds but much more blues as well so you get tighter node spacing and denser buds...i honestly can't see why anybody would want to slum it with something so important as their light source...
honestly, i don't think any of that means anything without a reliable source of light... in my opinion, with indoor growing your light is the most important part. honestly i can't think of a way to impact the quality of your crop for the better than going from a cheep bulb in a cheep cooltube to a high end bulb in a high end hood...high end soil, ferts, even better temps wont help your crop as much as a new light, and more often than not with genetics these days the 200 dollar a pack dudes are putting out stuff just as good as the 50 dollar a pack dudes, hell go to cbay or whatever and you can find stuff for next to nothing, that will do just as good as the high end lines!
p.s. here are some of my girls, first ones skunk, the rest are c99 day 45ish, under my 430 watt hortilux eye...the smell is like concentrated juicy fruit gum flavoring...

$120 for their brand magnetic 400w hps. And their lamp they send with is pretty damn good. I've had this ballast for 5 years and put through 6-7 or so grows. Still works perfect.
