your plants look amazing keep up the good work, but like you said unless you spend the time and money the get the room and plants perfect, i still dont beleave this would be an achivable number for new growers or less experianced

Ass are you growing from seed only or are you growing from clones?
Clone of a clone of a clone. We keep perpetual moms.
Because we battle heat a lot where i live I am pretty much forced to run an air tight room which is an equipment and electrical cost hit but the upside is great yields because of a tightly controlled environment.
I am by no means saying the OP can pull it off with his exact set up, more to the growers who don't think 2 lbs is even doable. Others on the board do it, it's where i learned how to do it :)

Absolutely agree with that statement.

Yes that is a big part to hitting good numbers in the grow room. One working your plants Supercropping, topping, scroggin, and just keeping your plants in overall good health and environment plus a good yielding strain also helps.

Well the title says it all. I am getting a new location and I want to run 4 - 600w hps ballasts using vert bare bulbs.

It will run an 8 site RDWC system in a 4'x8' tent. Veg time could be a maximum of 8 wks in a separate veg tent but I assume I will only need 5-6 weeks.

lil MS paintshop photo attached below showing how I want to setup the lighting and plant arrangements.

Running an 8-9wk cycle strain, do you think 4.5lbs could be relatively achievable? Thats roughly .83g / watt.

Feel free to give your opinion please. Looking for ideas. The only thing I see being a problem is each plant will need to yield 9oz each. I dont know if the plants can get large enough without choking one another out in a 4'x8' tent to yield 9oz each. What do you think?

2,400 watts seems like a lot for a 4x8 area. I had 2,400 in a 8x8 with 400's and that seemed to work well. .................................. It produces 64 ounces from thirteen plants, nine different varieties, plants were 2-3 foot in height, in 5gal. buckets. (vegged about 50 days) Pro-mix with sensi a and b. ........................................................................With a longer veg time and going vert you would probably increase that yield. Main problems I could see would be a lack of working space once those plants are large unless you have zippers everywhere to get to the back of the plants........................................................Heat would be the other issue with 2,400 watts in a 4x8....................................I would consider two 4x8's with that much light.

Four pounds from 1600 watts. This is with a small og kush on the right front that only got 9 ounces by itself. I do it time and time again.

It is doable with the right training and plant strains.

Wow didn't see the 4X8. Thats to much light for that. The picture above was 5X7 and it can get hot quick without some serious cooling.

And like mentioned above you will have no room to move around to train your plants.

Yea its possible with that wattage but im not sure on the config. Like mentioned id spread the area a little wider. Used to hit 4.25-4.5 pretty regularly with organics under same wattage but more like a 7.5 x 7.5. I believe the slightly higher runs i had some seed plants involved which always produce more for me than the clones eventually do.

I had better luck with higher plant counts and shorter veg than with less count and longer veg. I dont think i would run that count again as i was young and stupid :) I was far from a master grower than and even now.

I agree that plants grown from seed do tend to produce higher yields and I also agree that higher plant count with shorter veg time will increase yield per watt

Killin it Ass! Im feelin ya on the pains in our area with the environment. Gonna have to drop that $$ myself soon if i plan on rollin in summer with my newer config. Im barely squeaking by now in winter ;-0. Id never thought id say this but i actually have found myself wishing for a little "winter" like weather. We didn't have much this year.

Redbuddz, i have pretty much stopped flowering seeds so i dont get disappointed when i run the clones later :)

Benny, are you running a "snype" system? I have been loving the switchover to rdwc from organics. With a few tweaks for next run im sure ill break personal records using it. Just now finishing 1st run with a few issues from a screwed up scheduled and parts not arriving in time that will not happen next run. Heat will be my enemy for next run, mini is next on the upgrade list.

Wow I had the best idea in a dream last night. Something that will solve all of my problems and I cant believe I never thought about it before.

One of my main requirements is that everything I do as far as growing must be able to disappear in 24 hours.

Due to unknown factors, and I had to implement operation disappear twice this past year. It is a ton of work but something that must be planned for.

Anyway, here we go, my idea that came to me in a dream.

Build my next grow room on a cargo trailer platform. It will serve the same purpose a tent would but be even stronger and probably more air tight.

If I get word the owner need to come in....all I do is unplug the power, hook up my truck and park it outside, where it will look like a cargo trailer......

I would install two deep cycle AGM batteries with an dc/ac power inverter to run a single high output air pump and possibly the carbon filter for a couple of hours at most if I needed to move it for a short period of time.

Gosh, the more and more I think about it...the more and more it makes so much sense. My area is a large 16x30' shop with an overhead garage door. I figure If get a 5x10 cargo trailer and build whatever I need to build to make it work and look not out of the norm.

The only thing I for see being a possible issue is locating two vent ports for intake and exhaust.

Not to take anything away from you, but I've read about that and various other reincarnations of that multiple times on here:tiphat:

Just the other day in the security forum a member was talking about using air/water tight shipping containers in a warehouse, so if he had to pack up and move instantly it wouldn't be a problem.
