Alright, I have been slacking on the pictures, but I will take some tonight. Cleaning my res that holds just plain RO water in it right now. It was long overdue.

I am thinking that I want to add some 8" cooltubes for both of my flower rooms. I think it will make cooling it much easier. Right now with only 1 of the 2 lights running in one of my flower rooms (that is being used to veg right now) my canopy temp is 79*. With 2 lights running it puts at 84* or so. With C02 running it is just about perfect, but I want to be able to run 3 lights in each room eventually.

I have a question for some of you guys also, but I think it may be easier with the pictures I will take later.

Got the pictures, so what do you guys think is the best way to add some height to my plants that are vegging in my vertical setup. It seems like running both lights all the time is kind of waste, but if it will be worth it then I will. I have been running my HPS bulb for the most part and have been turning on the MH for a few hours a day as well, but not sure if this is the best way to get them to gain some height. They are currently 3 feet tall and there is 3 feet of space from the tops to the ceiling. Any ideas?

pop those bags over some 5 gallon pots and cut the bottoms of the bags so the roots reach into the new soil, place a horizontal hood with a 1000w over the plants and flower, let them reach towardss the sky for 2 weeks then just use vertical lights to fill them up. so basically dont run the 2 1000w vertically put one into a horizontal hood and place over them and let them stretch if they get too tall before the 2 weeks then run the verticals and cut off the horizontal. this should double the height in 10 to 14 days try using a high nitrogen fert like a 10 5 5 during these 2 weeks of stretch.

Great setup. Keep the pictures coming

Are you still running the lucas formula with coco as in the beginning of this thread? Have you noticed any PK burning during the second half of flowering?

Yeah, I was thinking about tossing a hood in there too. Seemed like it was going to be a pain in the ass though, so I have been slacking on doing that. I am thinking I am going to up them from the 5 gallon bags to 10 gallon bags before they flower though. Vegging this time has been a little harder than planned because I normally only have to veg one room at a time. Oh well, it will all work out. They are growing decently fast upwards with the 1000w HPS running up top all the time, and the MH running at the bottom some times.

This is the first real run where I will actually be able to tell about the nutrients I think. My first run I had lots of environmental issues going on that were killing some of my plants so I wasnt able to really say how they did. Then last run, I was away from it for the entire grow and the guy taking care of it was burning them all with his hot mixes. Told him to keep the EC at 1.9 and he was running all the way up to 2.6. So this run I will be able to tell how it works out for me.

hook up a male female connector to your hps light wire and hook a cheap hood and socket up with a few feet of wire and a male connector at the end that way you can plug and play pop it in and out whenever u want.

when running vert trees its hard to keep shoots from getting too close to the bulbs specially when running 1000s more so the hps then the mh since it runs hotter then the mh, try and keep 10 inches from the tips to the bulb at all times even thru ur heavy flowering as high temps at the buds will slow production. sometimes less is more.

This setup is awesome. Good job RedDeer. I would just keep the top bulb up as high as you can, and do what danks said, put them in 5 gallon containers.

That is a really good idea with wiring up a socket that I can just hook up easily. I think I may have to do that on my next room. The plants are starting to gain lots of height now so I am not too worried about them gaining the height needed. I have been trying to keep the tips at least 15 or so inches from the bulbs this time. When I was running with them only about 10 inches away from the bulb I was getting some heat stress.

Thanks Labtec, your setup is awesome too. These are all in 5 gallon bags right now, but I am thinking I am going to repot them into 10 gallon containers before I flower them. Lots more space than the 3 gallon bags I was using on past runs!

maybe lift the fan off the ground closer to the first light to help disperce heat faster upwards , you could also try alternating the mh up top for one week and then down one week. also ur air intake can stretch into ur room all the way under the plants that way you got some nice cooling right on those bulbs, just use some 6 inch dryer hose to run it from ur intake to the bottom next to ur fan.

Few more pictures from last night. The ones in room 2 are growing nicely. They have gained about 7 inches in 4 days. Hopefully I will be able to flip them in about a week or so.

The ones on my veg table are exploding too. I separated the bags to give them more some more space and they have responded nicely

Thanks Smiley, I have missed you being around! How is everything going with you?

Took 52 clones last night and got them into the cloner. Have 5 of every strand I have except for SSH which I have 3 of, and Agent Orange X Chocolate Diesel which I have 4 of. I can not wait to have these new ones flowering. So far the best ones grow wise are the Jedi(one with giant ass leaves), G13 and the Snowcap. My personal favorite is the Jedi. Got to love those giant leaves.

I am still fighting these stupid ass fungus gnats and to a small extent, root aphids. Watered again today with some Bayer Complete. This is my third time watering with it in the past few weeks. All the little bastards seemed dead, but have started to see lots more popping up flying around the base and stuck to my yellow stick traps. Hopefully this will completely take care of them now... I also am fighting PM. Been spraying with Zone and penatrator, but it has not been working well. Some Eagle 20 is on my shopping list, but money is quite tight at the moment. Hopefully I can afford some very soon. I want to bring in the big guns and knock this shit out. No more band-aids for me when it comes to fighting bugs and PM. I am going straight to the big guns from now on.

Things have been going better. My pain is better with my own meds, the personal stuff is getting better. I'm seeing the brighter side I guess.

Bugs

How are you applying the Bayer Complete and at what dose? 5, 10,20 ml/gal? I haven't read too many people having to re apply it much. The gnats should have been gone the first time you used it honestly. Those smart pots? Really surprised but I would try some azamax or pyganic drenches and with the pyganic you can make a strong spray to handle fliers. Expensive though.... I understand why you're throwing the Complete at it. They're also talking about the triazicide is a good contact killer but I can't bring myself to use them.

Right now I have or had aphids/gnats. It came a new with my last soil mix. It's obviously the Sunshine organic growers mix. I'm using a mosquito dunk in the rez. Haven't seen a gnat in a week. I have white crawlers and have seen 1 flier. I drenched with azamax and will follow with pyganic and another azamax drench. This got me through flower last time with no reapplication. :)

On sticky traps, get some and cut into strips and attach to Popsicle sticks and place in the pot. I caught a lot more fliers than hanging cards.

Yeah eagle 20 or procure 480sc are good chem treatments for PM and they are systemic. Chem users hit them early veg then again as the transition to flower.

The zone and penetrator is going to help with virus and bacteria problems from the bugs.

I'm running G13 (aiborne) X Original haze... G13xHaze... I had a sample from a friend and it's amazing... really great. Which G13 do you have?

if you talking about aphids... i used the complete... i have little white bugs in my soil they are kind of fast and maybe springtails. However i pull out the plant and donot see any bugs on the roots. Im not sure what i have lol... But i would reapply the complete because they may be aphids i just leaning towards some thing else....

i see a flier but they may be gnats they are few and far between to notice or get a good look at one. I have boniguard and will be applying this shorty if i have aphids this should get rid of them. Long story short reapply just in case.

I am glad things are getting better for you. Life can be pretty shitty sometimes...

On the bugs, I used 5ml the first time and 10ml the second and third. I think part of the problem with the bugs coming back for me is I repotted some again after I watered with both times and I think they must be coming in the coco. I tried dunks in my reservoir without much success other than them partially clogging up my pumps, so I used my remaining ones and broke them up and put them on the top of each of the bags. The bags are just plastic cheapo 5 gallon bags. I water the plants with the Bayer so there is lots of run off and try to completely saturate the coco as much as possible with the bags. They aren't the easiest to work with. This time I used 25 gallons of water for 25 5 gallon bags. So I guess a gallon a bag. Cutting up the yellow cards and putting them on popsicle sticks is a great idea. I will probably do that! If I can't get the Bayer to completely take care of the bugs, I will definitely try the azamax and pyganic drench.

I am not sure which cut of G13 is it. I was gifted it by a buddy who didn't know much about it.

I agree, hit them one more time than it seems like is needed to completely knock them out.

The Girls are all doing amazing. Took some more clones last night because for some reason my aero cloner is not producing roots on my clones I took a couple of weeks ago. It has been 13 days now and not one has rooted. Not quite sure what the issue with that is. I have never had it take this long to get them to root. New set of clones was done in rockwool plugs. I am not the biggest of fan of rockwool because the algae that tends to grow on it, but it was easy and cheap to be able to do another set of clones. I am giving the clones in the cloner until the first of the month to start producing root, or they are getting "evicted". I did notice what seems to be the very beginning stages of roots starting to form on a few of them, so I am hoping they work, but who knows if they will. If I toss the ones I have in there on the first, I am going to do one more set in the cloner to try and figure out what the problem is that is causing them to not root.

The girls vegging on my veg table are getting very big. Winners as far as overall growth is concerned is probably Snowcap, AK47, Jedi and G13 as the undisputed champ of them all. Took 14 big clones off the g13 last night and it is still a beast. It has grown a foot in the past 10 days so I have high hopes for it. SSH, DJ Blueberry and Grapefruit Kush are all nice and happy too. Actually, they are all nice and happy. :joint:

The Bubblegum x Nebula's that I have in room 2 are still vegging, but are almost ready to get flipped. They are about 4' 6" or so. Going to spray them with the Eagle 20 today and then get a few of them repotted into 10 gallon smart pots before I flip them.

On the construction side of things, I am working on revising my AC system again. My 18,000 window AC that I have running in a box is not doing so hot(actually it is doing hot...)at the moment. It is struggling now to cool what it had no problem cooling a month ago. Since the AC hasn't been working as well, I decided to change out my horizontal veg hood with an air-cooled one I had, but wasn't using and have that hooked up to a 4" fan I also had laying around to help keep that light a little cooler. It has helped somewhat to bring the temps down, but not as much as I would like. So that leads me to the project that is going to be happening the next few days. Hooking up a 25k btu AC into the wall of Room 2 and building a box on the front and back. The box on the front is going to lead to a register in each of the flower rooms, and if deemed necessary, a register in the veg room. Only problem I am having is finding registers big enough for the size I am looking at. I may just get a balancing damper and just try and get it so my airflow is even to both the rooms. That is going to be a pretty big project because I have to rip into my wall and frame up a "window" for the AC to setup. Not too hard, but time consuming and not my favorite thing in the world to be doing. I am hoping that it will allow me to get the temp down to a level I am okay with.

Also, does anyone have any experience with putting plants outdoors this late in the year? I am in southern ca, so frost shouldn't be much of an issue. I have a couple of extra plants that I don't really have anywhere for and some property at a someone I am a caregiver for just opened up for my use if I want to use it, so I figured, "why not?"

Oh yeah, and I will take some pictures this weekend at some point. :joint:
