amazonia is a thai x master widow, high yielding strain
master haze is a himalayan haze crossed with master widow
master widow maybe comes from the parents or from the widow with X ??? masterkush ? it is not sure just asking
but probably it is not crossed with master kush, it is a selection from the white widow lines with other parents
or another version it is white widow x white widow
A little background on this. Note, I'm not taking sides, just sharing what I've read.
White Widow was produced by Greenhouse seeds prior to the split of Shanti and Arjan.
Shanti claims to be the breeder of WW, by crossing a Brazilian Sativa and an Indian Hashplant.
Then there is this dude name Ingmar, of Dsjamaan who also worked for Greenhouse. Ingmar and Arjan claim that Ingmar created WW from two seeds found in some hand rubbed hash.
Ingmar has crossed his version of WW with a number of strains, of which Master Widow and Thai Widow are derived from. As mentioned above, I think Master Widow is Master Kush x WW, but who knows?
Ingmar claimed to have refined the WW as well as making numerous crosses.
Who to believe? I dunno. There is a lot of accusations and claims by both Arjan and Shanti over who created it. Arjan says Ingmar did it, Shanti says he did. Believe what you want.
Don't know why I'm weighing on this because I don't really care but Widow is supposedly Brazilian x South Indian. Here's a quote from Arjan:
Arjan: "Ingemar (De Sjamaan) invented WW already in 1987. [...] It was called Arnhem’s Wonder and already won the first HL cup in 1989. [...] For those who don’t believe this, please call Coffeeshop Catweazel or Roger from the grow shop; they worked with Ingmar for a long time. Roger has always sold the clones he had. He had a famous grow shop in Nijmegen. I bought the male and female among other plants in 1992 and only crossed them in 1994. I did not have to do any breeding on the White Widow at that time because Ingemar had already done it for us. And to this day you can still buy original clones of the White Widow in that area of Holland."
Sounds a little specific to be bullshit but with these hustlers you never know. It doesn't just go for Arjan he's a little seedy, bad pun, but all those guys from that period were.
Jesus, got into that crap and forgot why I was here. On the netsphere there are people saying Master Widow is 'the original White Widow' whatever that means. Basically it's another seed company selling their version of White Widow calling it Master Widow because White Widow is an Arjan Trademark Copyrighted...I don't think it has anything to do with Master Kush or else they'd advertise it as such.
I think Ingemar kept good cuts of good representation of WW back in time
because in 98-99 I bought some seeds from him when he sold them under
the company name edit: "White Widow Master Seeds Company", and sold
the seeds in some nice colored cardboard pyramids with name of strain
and infos inside and outside,
never try his Master Widow but the Magic Cristal was a great plant, I
remember sleeping with bag of flowers under my pillow, smell like tropical
bubblegum, I don't know where but I kept the catalogue somewhere, I kept
the pyramids too
then (+/-2000) (I think he lost the good Shanti cuts) and he disappear from
the growshop seedlists, many years after, I found a list of varieties came
back under the name "Sjaaman" I grow again Magic Cristal and was TOTALY
an other strain, hermie, 100% sure :s
++!
edit: It was Master seeds company
edit: not sure for Master Widow (MasterKush cross) because in his catalogue
he got a cross Master Widow x Hindu Kush (aaah it's hindu Kush) the name was
"Merlins Dreams" his most expensive strain at the time
last edit I just have a lightning of lucidity (what will follow is not sure, I have to find the
catalogue to confirm) I'm near sure that I don't remember there
was White Widow seeds in the catalogue, why the creators of the White Widow
open a seed company in 1998-99, and start selling all but... White Widow in seed form
I think at this time even Dutch Passion already sold their version of WW, at this time there
was many different copies of WW in the coffeshops (lot of f2 who lost bests qualities of F1)
until last years I wasn't able to re create the profile of the original one in my imagination,
then I try the Poligonera…
