It's now time to put the plants on a bit more surface, a bit apart. When the leafs start to touch they are going to compete for the light, resulting in more stretching.

Do you ever spray your girls in veg?

Thanks for stopping by whazzup. That's my plan for today is to spread the girls out to give them more room and fire up a second light.

Yes I have been spraying my girls every 2 days or so with water. gave them there first spray with 1-1-1 nutes the other day. :tiphat:

Soooo, today was feed day again!! Girls are drinking more and more. Upped nutes today 750ppm. Also gave the girls more room so they could spread there legs:biggrin: and fired up the second light. Then I redid my training hooks so that all the bud sites are getting light again. I couldn't believe how long it took to do all of that!!! I swore I was in there for 2 hours. Looked at my phone, almost 4 hours had gone by!!!!:bigeye:

Probably give them a light feed on Wednesday and then let soil dry out for transplant into my 30 gallon totes on Saturday:woohoo: I will veg for another 9 days and then flip to flower on New Years Eve:dance013:

Looking great LED about dam time you fired up the other light looks like you cropped everything again , Good idea , as well spread them all out if you plan on giving them a lite feeding on wednesday, that is were you should take out all the coat hangers from soil
So plants have a few days till transplant to grow up giving you better access and making transplanting easier for your self like we discussed how
That extra light = more heat get that room dialed in again
your going to freak out after transplant how plants will explode in growth your going to have a a nice first grow pull there buddy

Thanks everyone, having fun and learning LOTS along the way!!!

Sounds good Doc, supercropped everything last night. Good idea on removing hangers on Wednesday, anything to make transplanting these girls a bit easier is a good thing!!:tiphat:

Looking forward to getting them into the big totes!! Then I don't have to play with soil for a couple months!!!

now lower the lights... and make a reflective shield at the long open end pronto! :D

Yeah I'm from holland, I hate to spill light ;)

Seriously: make a curtain of white foil on the long side, that will dramatically influence the light on your plants at that open side. You have the lamps positioned overlapping (which is good) but in this configuration they are not very wide and everything you get at the sides you should reflect back.

Lights right now are at 33". Should I lower them down to 30" Whazzup??

I thought about exactly what you said when I was designing my room, making a removable wall with reflective material but then I would be blocking my fans. And there are no wall fans on the market that produce the CFM these fans do and only use 23W each!!!! And where I sit now with power consumption I'm really close to going over the limit and possibly requiring a city inspection witch I'm not really into:noway:

To counter the fact that one side has reflective material and other side doesn't I kept the lights 2'9" off the back wall that way the side without reflective material would be 2-3" closer to the centre of the light. The wall side will be 4-6" farther from the light but has Orca Grow film bouncing all that light back. I figure that should even things out a bit?? Maybe I'm wrong but that theory worked out in my head at that time

If I wasn't concerned with power I would do just that, build a reflective removable wall, install some wall fans and hang 4 Gavita Plasma's inbetween each 1000W light and really see what she could produce!!! I'd also hang a 600W Gavita and Plasma in my Veg room and really kick out production. But unfortunately this is not in my cards:puppydoge

We shall see what a total newbie can do with some really nice lights and equipment, and the help of a friend Dr.Feel Good:plant grow: I have no expectations for this first round, just trying to learn the ropes as quickly as possible and if I end up having a crop that would be a big plus!!!

How could 3000W come anywhere close to possibly requiring a city inspection for power consumption?

Very easily in my neck of the woods. Anything over 93KWH usage gets submitted to the city for possible inspection. Total BS considering my house runs at around 70 KWh when using my heat pumps. I'm now heating my home with just the furnace and my house uses between 30-40 KWH a day. And thats without any crazy use of ovens or things like that. My grow room uses 50-60 KWH a day, depending if the dehumidifier is working overtime or not. So you do the math:tiphat:

yup, down you go. @ 1000W you can easily go down to 25" - kick some ass :)

I recommend to do every light change gradually.

Thanks Whazzup. I will lower my lights then:biggrin:

I have been taking things very gradually with the light settings, I first started at 600W for a few days, then 660 for a couple days, 750 for a couple days, 825 for a couple days and then finally 1000W. Then when I added the second light I ran the first light cycle with both lamps at 825W. They are now both at 1000W again:woohoo:

I feed them again today 750ppm of food and took off my training stakes in preparation for transplant on Saturday. Girls are really drinking lots now!! Double what they were drinking a week ago. I bought a weight scale to weigh my totes so I could see just how much they are drinking and totes are getting lighter so that means they are drinking a little more than what I'm giving them each time witch is good as I want the soil to dry out for saturday....

Will have some updated pics this weekend after transplant

Wow... I get it. In Florida the power company can notify leo's if power consumption is too high. Unfortunatly that forces growers to steal power.

Either way good luck and keep up the good work

Well small update time, going to be transplanting into big totes tomorrow. Snapped a few pics yesterday of my girls. Couple pics of the girls under T5 lights and a few of the girls under the Gavita's. So these are around 2 1/2 - 3 weeks of veg time. I think they are progressing pretty well..... Let me know what you guys think:tiphat:
