Let's see...

Thirty years ago I was about to turn 21. I was living with my first "live-in" girlfriend who would break my heart and change my life two years later. I was doing something at the university, but can hardly remember what. M'lady and I were "professional kite makers" selling our wares at craft fairs up and down the east coast. We lived by that wisest of old adages, "dope will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no dope."

30 years ago I didn't have an inkling of where I would be today, and have learned that "surprise" is one of the things I love best about Life.

30 years ago I was proud of the fact that all my worldly posessions--including my dog--could fit into a Volvo 122S and still have room for a rider. Now I need a truck.

30 years ago and I was always "in training" for my next marathon. Today I always look for the elevator or escalator before even thinking about taking the stairs.

30 years ago I had a 30 inch waist and 32 inch inseam. Now the inseam is the same, but the waist is 42!

30 years ago I had a hard on most of the day. Now...well...let's say I'm less easily distracted.

30 years is a long time.

Aloha,
Maddog

This thread made me wonder...

What the hell was I doin' 30 years ago???

Hmmmm....lemme see...1974...holy shit! I was a gangly high school freshman who had just smoked his first joint. LOL!

Was drivin' my very first vehicle. (a beat up '66 Chevy shortbox) Listenin' to rock & roll. Tryin' my best to get laid. (wouldn't happen for another year, and was over waaaay too quick) And I was wonderin' how the hell I was ever gonna get out of the little hick town I grew up in to go out and "see the world".

30 years later...still drive a beat up truck. Still listen to rock & roll. Get laid whenever the wife lets me. ;) And I've seen a damn good chunk of the world, and decided that small town life ain't so bad.

Good to see you dank...hope your back is better. :)

Jesus, looks like we are in the same boat, except that I started smoking pot at 9... God Bless My Older Brother for sharing some of that Thai and Cambodian weed he brought back from Vietnam.
May he rest in peace.

Shit hole of a small town, beat up ol' pick up.

Yeah Dowzer, My back is doing a lot better, the pain is livable now with the help of herbal medication ;)

peace,
Dankdude

1st year in college, knockin up my ole lady for the first time ;) Smoking weed off the government farm in MS stolen by a dear departed friend, thanks Ed  Same person that 2 years later got a jar full of the Lot-13 beans my family has become accustomed to, a family tradition of sorts.

If you'd have told me I woulda been with the same woman 30 years later you'd of had to pick me up off the floor, let alone the fact that we went on to have 3 more kids to boot, now we have 6 grand youngins, less one, GOD bless ya Damie and a new one on the way, thank the reefer god's for small miracles :)

Would I change a thing, only one I can think of :( , the rest of it's been great for the most part. Would I like to be 20 again......hell no, I did it once, I may not make it through it again.

Glad to see you old cogger's still here and loving life, may the final years be as good as the first
