What is it with all these $300 packs of beans?
Gage, Inhouse, JJNYC, Brothers Grim, Aficionado, Reeferman, list goes on and is growing by the second. What made all these people think it's cool to charge +30 per seed all of the sudden? At first I was like "yeah but it's limited edition and most likely a one time deal". Nope it just encouraged more of this crap. Thirty bucks for a damn seed? Just one seed MOST often of completely untested beans? Not a single grow just "hey better grab these in case they are unbelievably good". Does this superior magic seed cure cancer, grow a few inches on your manhood, and get you playboy bunny sex all at the same time?
I understand they want to cash inn and some of the guys have really busted ass to produce quality gear but people paying these prices has just driven the companies into greedy money hungry hogs. Are $500-$1000 packs going to become the norm? Can I charge $500-$1000 per zip of finished product? Nope! No one on the streets will pay that shit no way.
I am unbelievably grateful that I have the coolest friends in the planet that spread genetics based on the love of the plant not selfish elitism smash and grab for cash. And their genetics are top notch world class tip of the spear type stuff I only dreamed about in the past. Shit some of these seed companies could only dream of to tell the truth straight up.
An elite plant appears in about one in thirty to fifty plants. $1500 for a proper pheno hunt... Dude shit is out of hand. No way they can possibly guarantee a true elite keeper from one pack nobody can just simple math. $1500 for a cut that you have to find yourself. Hmmmmmmm if you are rich, an aspiring seed maker, or a big time drug dealer cool but I know of $30 packs that will be just as good if not better than anything you find in a $30 single seed bet on that shit.
At this point Aficionado looks like they are the only ones backing up their products with a money back guarantee. JJ really did bust ass for many years and has a proven track record in his particular style but dang dude WTF?
Seems like things where rarely over $200 unless it was a very high demand auction. And these same companies get pissed when untested hacks of their gear are released by fly by night "companies" cashing in on the overrated hype created for like $150 per pack of 10? Yeah dude they paid the high prices to try to cash in like everyone else. Monkey see monkey do. Virtually zero science involved just fill a tent with pollen and open up an Instagram account badabing son!!! Just like their cannagod masters of the green ultra supreme! People remind me of baseball card nerds that need every rookie card at any cost. They never even swung a bat, put on a uniform, nor hit a home run but man they surely own a piece of that superstar. And boy can they quote their favorite players stats.
Seed collecting can be an asset or an unhealthy sickness. I was definitely one of the sick twisted canna geeks no doubt. Now I am a seed maker doing it for the love of the Herb with backing from the worlds best. Free at last, free at last, thank god almighty I'm free at last. I love you fuckers...
