Saying that though, most breeders will tell you to buy more than one pack of their seeds to find the best example of a keeper, so I'm guessing what passes for stable these days is less than 1 in 10 seeds, (which to my mind still isn't stable). So I guess its all relative.
fair point.

distilled is boiled water to removed addatives right? (the glorys of google lol) why dont you get r/o from an aquarium. maidenhead aquatics sell 25ltrs for £3.50 or summink im not sure i know the manager so only pay a quid.

Well, you can get alsorts of water these days, but distilled is pure H20, so the steam from boiled water collected and cooled back to water would be distilled ish, but I dont have any equipment capable of collecting steam and condensing it back to a liquid in the volumes necessary. R/O would be a fair substitute, as it would be less saturated with crap, but no pet shops around here either lol. Living out of town is cool most of the time, but as soon as you need anything more than alcohol or basic food you realise there are benefits to living around lots of other people.

I posted in this thread several years ago, it is good to see you are still at it. Very interesting and unique!

good grief bro, the photography is stuning! Talent is something 'they' can't take away from us. We get older, but we get better with age. You my friend remain an absolute in the twisting vines of ICMAG. Long live 3. 3 has built in magic qualities to the kind of foundations it produces. Hard to find the right words to explain it. Just like the ICHING, you toss 3 coins to set up your ideagram. there's something about 3, is all I'm saying.

Keep it churning G!

Much respect,

Desi!

Fascinating thread GMT. I have a trifoliate plant in my stable right now and it was a good read going through a good portion of this thread. :) You have lots of patience. :D As long as you post updates i'll keep checking it out.

Thanks for all the work on this

Lol Dirt Magirt, I once bought a plastic tube for a bong, and got asked if I was making a still.

Hey Forest, I'd be no good in the A-team, that last 10 mins of the show would take me a lifetime. I can't build anything, I'm useless in that department. I considered trying to make something along the lines you suggested, but I know Id end up with water all over the place, scolded fingers, and melted plastic all over the work top. I can get it on ebay, but dont really want to do it that way. I may end up having to, coz I'm gonna give that a go at some point.

Hi Desi, thanks, much appreciated. Yeah thank goodness they haven't found a way to tax talent or I'd have as little left as I have cash left lol. The tri's just have me mesmerised, they look so pretty when sitting next to a boring old bi leafed example. Each one that sprouts gives me such pleasure. I just sexed a male, too late to use with my first tri girl, but just in time to use with my second tri girl. So theres at least a few more rounds of seeds to be produced before resorting to the selfing option. Then another to return then to male/female seeds. So it looks like I'll be at it for some time to come yet.

Hi 3rdEye, thanks for joining us, can I ask if your tri has any Blue in its breeding history. Most of them originate from those genes being in their ancestry somewhere. No worries on the work front, I do find it interesting, and there may be a chance of some answers in the not too distant future. I know of someone hoping to set up a lab, so I can get them tested soonish to answer the question we have been asking for ages now, are the tri's diploids, triploids, or polyploids, or do they merely have an extra gene somewhere, an extra chromosome, or a modified gene within the standard set up. That answer will provide so many answers to so many questions.

Hey Dime good to see you in here again. Dont worry about checking back mate, its all been the same thing for a few years now lol. Sit back, watch the pictures and say hello once in a while. Yeah I keep meaning to pop into chat, but being dry I dont like to sit around in chat, as each smoke break taken in there just reminds me I'm dry. And I do hate to be dry lol. Once I've had a harvest of something, I'll be in to chill again. Hows your season gone? Have you got a thread going at the mo as Im not getting any reminders on it if you are?

Hi Forest, lol what ya thinking 3 leaves to represent the 3 types? I know you're only kidding,.

Just the one pic today, only thing happening is the development of the seeds, therefore its the only thing worth posting.

I would post it in the medium size, but I dont know how to do that these days since all the changes.

Nice... Ive been growing for seeds for the last couple of grows and i end up dissapointed and happy all in 1. Pick the seeds out :jump: then - theres hardly any weed :dunno::violin:..

But the calyx's from the seeds are very hashy and at least i have some good seeds for future grows. I need to stop pollinating every single bud and just do the odd 1 or 2. At present i have some seeds forming on a Dp Blueberry pollinated by a BB male, and im hoping sometime that i get a triple or quadruple noded seedling at some point.

Tecsos (deliberate spelling mistake) do distilled water for steam irons but they are always out of stock when ive looked. Car parts shops may be a better source, and as for de-ionised water i dont think its pure enough but maybe i should give it a try sometime. I have a bottle sitting here unopened. I use a 9v battery for making my C. silver and although i was advised to use a coffee filter to strain it with after making it, i didnt, and the C. Silver worked just fine... Well developed male flowers and viable pollen (i made feminised seeds with it).

I make my own distilled water with a bodged up still. I found a liebig condenser and a boiling flask in a derelict lab, and its really slow but it does the job. Maybe a solar still is the way to go if you still have no luck getting distilled water.. =

Liebig condenser setup =

recovering-pure-water-from-a-solution-using-a-water-condenser-234.jpg

It wont be any less pure than the distilled water that i make with my sad excuse for a still. The only other thing is it has to be .999 silver and 925 silver doesnt work. Ive tried 925 and had no luck with male flowers, but the .999 worked like a dream.

Peace GMT and everyone.

cool, nice one Tel.

I'll give tecsos lol a go, and that solar diagram you put up is genius. I would never have thought of that at all. The silver I have covered, (I'm a collector of pure silver bullion) so I have quite a bit of the stuff. 9v battery hey, thats no problem I can pick that up. Its good to know you have done this yourself. Tell me, at what point did you first spray, how long did you leave the silver cooking in the water, how much total water did you use, how many times did you spray, did you concentrate on the leaves or the buds or both? I have quite a few questions, stick around, you can talk me through all this as I do it, I have my 2 girls picked out, and I want to make a couple of clones from the clones, as I also want to do a cross of the 2 girls. So I'm hoping to end up with 3 distinct sets of femmed seeds at the end of it. Well I guess to be precise thats, 2 selfed sets of seeds and 1 femmed set. This run I'll have 2 sets of standard seeds. And in a quantity that should last ages. They are destined for the fridge in order to keep their viability up while I concentrate on the femming thing. Early next year (jan/feb) is my window to do this, and right now I am making my plans.

I used a fully charged 9v battery (PP3) and just leave the C silver brewing overnight or until theres no power left. I tongue test it to see if its flat. That seems enough to brew a small jar of C silver, although with a larger jar maybe 2 batteries worth of brewing is needed.

I sprayed them as soon as the female pre-flowers showed giving the leaves on a branch a good soaking. Did this twice that day, and then twice a day 1 week later, and that seemed to do the trick. I dont have an EC meter so i dont know the PPM but i did shine a lazer through the jar to see how much was suspended in the water and it seemed to be pretty heavy with silver particles. As i said i didnt strain the C silver but just let it settle and took some with a needle and syringe, then transfered into a 50ml pump spray bottle from the local chemist.

My plants are pretty small as i dont have the patience to veg them, so i only used a tiny amount of the 50ml's to turn one branch male. I dont think i have a picture on my computer of the bud that i last used silver on, but i have that bud in the freezer and if its still in good condition i will take a photo of it. When youve sucessfully done it once, you'll see how simple it is. If the C. silver is old, then it can be charged back up again so to speak by brewing again for a few hours, but i think just swirling it around in the jar would be sufficient to up the amount of silver in the suspension. The last plant i used it on was an unknown strain but my next try will be with a DP blueberry clone once i get the buggers to root lol. They seem to take longer and die easier than the unknown strain.

I'll take a look at that male bud in the freezer now to see if its worth photographing.

Peace

Tel..

EDIT: I now have photos of the frozen bud but now looking for the USB cable for the camera.. just my luck, cant find it when i need it lol..

lmao Tel.

I'm missing a lead at the mo too, it was on my desk, now it isn't and theres no reason for it not to be.

It all sounds easy enough, I'm deffo gonna sort it out.

I also reckon it should be straight forward to simply freeze the CS and thaw it out when ever needed. So I plan on making a couple of litres of it, to save messing around in the future. But you say ou sprayed a couple of branches only? And only those branches turned?

Yeah its local only; it only makes the branch that you spray turn male. Handy because it means its very controlled.

Heres the male bud pictures..

This bud is fresh from the freezer and there was some ice in the bag, but you can see the male pods/nanas.

And the silver generator ..

The jar quickly gets coated with silver and has a mother of pearl sort of look to it, and tails of silver hang down from one of the electrodes when its done.
