I would wait till there are around four node sites. The roots should be established enough then to transplant.

Day 16 Update

I think 3 or 4 days ago (guess) I changed the fan that I use to blow on the plants, to strengthen the stalks. The tower fan did not create much pressure. I switched to a 3 blade type - I ran 1st setting a couple days, then stage two, and then stage 3. The stem look much thicker and heartier.

Also I ordered some Fish Emulsion and Super Thrive from E-Bay. I was unsure where to by locally so I thought that would be easier.

Here are 3 Group Pictures - 3 angle's to try and show my girls in "3D"

I notice many plants seem to stretch more between the nodes than mine currently are. Is this due to the fact that I have 4 23 watt CFL's on them? Genetics? Is this ok?

The plants are about 3 or 4" from the CFL's

From the picture (when I purchased the seeds) it seems like this "Summertime Buddha" wants to grow into a large budsicle :canabis:

I was unsure if some extra room between leave's may be bennifical, or if I want lots of leaves closer together. I was originally under the impression that less stretching is better (atleast for indoors - where space limitations apply).

Are there times where you want the plants to stretch more?

I usually check on the plants in the evening or late night - before the girls bed time, and some time before noon. Its great - I can effortlessly nottice a difference once I look in the cab :jump:

I was second guessing myself a bit - I am not so sure I would actually call it a "Budsicle" , but it does want to grow as one main stalk. I plant to let these 5 grow as they please - o natural. Since I want to clone a mother plant later on, I think it would be good to let them do their own thing, for an unbiased decision.

UPDATE

UPDATE

I had 3 males and 2 females. The males were killed and removed.

But I have bad news. When I had all 5 plants running under 12/12 (for about 2 weeks at this point I believe), I went away for a weekend, and came home to find the lights on at 1 in the morning (which should have turned off @ Midnight). I left them in the dark for 35 hours (till noon - the normal lights on time). I know "WHO" was the cause of the problem, they moved the plugs around to use a power tool, and the lights left the timer they were on :badday:

Any advice on what to do in a similar situation?

Also I am wondering what this new growth is - Does this mean my girls have Hermied? It's basically a spherical shape with a couple things sticking out (The are shaped not unlike pistals).

I have also included a couple other pictures. These pictures are Day 29 of 12/12.

Plants are looking fanatastic matt

Problem is I cant make out what that is in the pic dude, but guessing the its location, I would say you have some hermis

Try getting a clearer picture

Thanks DrDog, I thought they look pretty good too :)

I will try and get a really good picture tomorrow.

IF the plants have Hermied what is my best course? Try to check them out daily and cut off any male flowers?

Would I be correct in thinking that any (potential) clones would be very likely to be Hermies also?

You can pick off male parts as you see them

You will probably miss a couple, so dont be surprised if you have a few seeds in your harvested buds

It is hard to say wether or not the clones would be hermis, it could be caused by environmental reasons

So if the hermies were due to environmental reasons then the clones may not hermie? I removed these and they seem to be very seed like. There is an outer layer, which I pealed back to find what looks like a seed. Is it possible they are seeds?

I have noticed the plants have become more thirsty lately, is this due to bud production?

IT seems that many people go with strait water (no nutes) late in the flowering stage, It think I read it is needed for hydo. Is it optional for Soil? Advantages n Disadvantages?

No sign of male flowers. They are seeds.

Could it be advantageous to bud growth to carefully remove the seeds?

*** A Long over due FINAL UPDATE ***

My first grow was a mixed blessing. It was interesting and I feel I learned a great deal.

Unfortunately I had to dismantle my grow prematurely :(

My girls wanted 7 - 9 weeks of flower time. They received 7 weeks of 12/12, and were looking nice to me. SOME of the Trich's had just started to turn cloudy.. I was guessing they needed between 1 - 3 more weeks. Any thoughts on that?

I attempted to dry and cure the bud. I wanted the practice of this, and also I wanted to try to smoke MY own bud. It was premature, but it was free at this point, and the unripened fruits of my labor, so why not right?

The buzz was different; Heady, with no body feel, but it did resemble that of "REAL" weed. The 2 girls were each about 18" tall and together produced just shy of 1.25 oz. (Dried weight) Most found its way to a batch of brownies for a Halloween party :)

Also they were very pregnant. I have collected over 50 beans (I have yet to check each one and toss out bad ones).

I am currently setting up a computer case for my next grow (need more stealth). It is not large enough for me to become self sufficient, but it is large enough to let me play and learn in the mean time :)

well I can tell you that the beans above are much too premature to do anything.

they should be a brown mottled kind of appearance.

You are probably right about the 1-3 weeks more, but that is what growing is all about, you are already learning.

The best thing for you to do, to properly get a grow under your belt, is to give yourself about 7 months

2 months of vegging, to find the strongest ones, and get clones, ideally grow a mom out, to have your own clone machine, so maybe add a month there
2 to 3 months of flowering
1 month to cure dry

So I guess 6 months, give or take would be optimum. I have my grow area set up to the point where I can leave for about 10 days and they will be fine, perhaps a bit thirsty, but overall, no issues
