Nice thread bro, surprised it hasn't had more traffic through here.

So you have 4 x 600's running in your basement yeah, looks like a nice set up down there :) How did the 1 light on a rail test go or haven't you got round to that yet?

I see you set yourself the target yield of 1kg per 1200w? and that was hit have you surpassed that number yet or is that the average yield per 1200w now?

How's the defoliation working out for ya

The rail will be great for vegging a bigger area but for flowering its going to effect your yield a lot bro, even though we grow in tents and get lots of reflection from the tent walls, I still feel your yield will suffer. 600 per 3ft by 3ft area minimum.

I've not used a metal halide before always sodiums for vegging in the flower tent, first 2 weeks of veg I use the Plasma as it pulls plants right out of stress -mode literally within a day or two. So two weeks veg, then I flip and remove the plasma and add another 600 in the middle - total of 1800w at the beginning of flip. last run I got 0.98GPW

Ive also adding biological control this round for spider mites, fungus nats and thrips as a precaution.

Peace

Hello.
I'm actually starting to plan to set up another 600w hps to test a light rail. The purpose is to see if i can replace the 4 x 600 watts hps in the basement with 2 x 600 watts on light rails without to big a decrease in yield - so to answer your question no, im actually thinking of removing a bulb instead:) but so far i only bought a rail, 800 cbm fan+filter and a bulb, need to find a extra ballast and build a temporary grow tent on the second floor before starting.
I've been looking through some of your pictures green81, i can see we grow in a similary style (but with some differences). Is it 600w mh you are using? do you switch to hps later on? I'm using hps all the way through so i'm interest i hearing how you do it? Didn't the Gavita 300 LEP work fine or why did you replace it with another 600 watt(i assume)? Those closed hoods seems to work nice! gpw? Nice to see some one else using natural enemies  Can definitely recomend the H. miles. At the moment i'm hoping for them to become permanently established in the coco. At the moment the gnats are gone and have been a gone for a while but the mites seems to remain so i hope that they can survive purley on the springtails which i know there are plenty of in the coco. If the mites persists after this run then in the future i will release a few thousands mites every time i change the coco slabs(i will wait releasing them to i think there is enough food in terms of springtails to sustain the mites). My biggest fear is that the reduction of springtails can affect fungi maybe causing nutrient competition or pathogenic fungi. I however doubt that this will happen.

Your setup is looking tight brother, so did you pull 900grams of skunk1 from 1 600 or 2x 600 sodiums?

Yep running 4x600w. Haven't had the time for testing the light rail.
I got 1160 from both tables of PP and 1060 from both tables of the skunk no. 1 total. Got 50 less from the defoil table, don't think it was a 100% fair side by side due to the fungus gnats(both side had them, but it will still bias the experiment) and the fact that i only did it once. If i'm gonna do it again i will only remove leaves in veg, not after i flipped them.
When we are talking defoil check this out https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=275852

It was from 2x600w, and they cover 3m x 1,3m. I think it approx the footprint recommended for medium avenger adjust a wing.
Reduced yield is my fear whit the light rail. I will let the test show how much. My thought was to reduce the 4x600w in the basement to 2x600w on two rails and then on the 1 st floor set up another 600w on a rail, maybe 2x600w on two rails. But this is just thoughts...
Btw the mites died out, also vanished from my moms. Waiting for spring and the return of the gnats - pretty sure they will invade again.

And now for some pics of the skunk no 1, they are from day 15 of flower and the pictures is at least a week old.

Nice and even height at that time. A couple of days later i had to top some of them to prevent them from growing to high and into the bulb. Even though i did this they are still to big and i think i need to tie them down in some sort of way to get the closest away from the bulb and the heat.
No defoil but removed the bottom.

no pictures from the bub and powerplant side, only skunk no 1.
Since last i've had to tie some of the tall ones down, because they got to high, as you can see they have become a bit to tall this time.

Unfortunately i've had to delete som old pictures to get room for new ones, so some of the previous post do not contain the pictures anymore.

Looking excellent brother, just thought I would mentioned that I used natural predators on my current grow and had zero sign of fungus gnats or mites. I doubled the dose for the area they prescribed.

Hello.
Got the gnats again, but due to cold weather it's not possible to get mites with the post at the moment, so just have to wait. I'm using sticky traps to keep the gnats down at the moment - seems to work as they have not exploded in numbers like the normal do.
It's a mystery where i got them from this time, they can't come from outside as it is freezing could where i live. Suspecting some grocery bought earth(for the moms) to be the cause. Gave the rest of the bag a couple of days in the freezer to kill them.

Finally got time to eliminate some old frozen trimmings that's been filling the freezer for a long time now.

The "machine" needs improvements, but it saved me a lot of work with the whisker. The little vacuum pump is brilliant as an alternative to the siphon method, it saves me a lot of time. Made 3 runs while seeing the wolf of wall street, when the movie was over it took me 30 min. to suck the water away.
The guide that inspired me: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=203925&page=2
Changed a bit, whisking a lot longer and letting the resin settle for a longer period. Doing it like no reasons seems to make a super potent almost non smokable hash in my case(i start to cough extremely not because it bad hash but because it simply to strong for my taste). When it's done with my changes, the hash i get almost resembles the hash i used to buy, just much milder in the taste. When the hash get to cure a little i hope it starts to pick up some hash taste and smell.
As a last note, there is nothing at all wrong with no reasons way, try it and adjust it to your needs and likings - that's what i did:)

A little disappointing harvest but the quality is fine. The fungus gnats is back and due to cold weather i still have problems getting the mites and nematodes by mail, so fighting my best with sticky traps and Bti.
Doing skunk no 1 on all the four tables this time - have small cuts waiting to fill the other side, think they gonna root in 2-3 days.
The ones in the pic below took 10 days to root and then 7 days in grodan before they were put on the slabs where they have been sitting for 3 days now. As you can see they are a little droopy, don't know why but i have trouble almost every time i start new plants up on the slabs :dunno:

Hello.
Got some new moms from a friends friends, but with them i also got thrips! even though I've had the new moms isolated from start, the thrips have moved to the mother room. Think i have slipped once or twice on the routine to check the quarantine plants last and then transferred the thrips on my clothes/hands to the healthy moms in the other room.
Ordered Orius majusculus (belonging to the order Hemiptera or in plaine English true bugs) to combat the thrips - bio control rocks!
Also the weather is becoming warmer so i will receive my nematodes and mites against the fungus gnat in a couple of days, probably together with the true bugs.
Will update when i get the biocontrol agents(mite, true bugs and nematodes) with pics from the basement where it looks like I've got the water problem under control :)

Hello.
Got the orius, nematodes and mites today so now i can fight back!
The mites are simply to small to get a descent pic of without a macro objective, so only got a (blurred) shot of the orius.
picture.php

Going fine in the basement. Mixed the powder with the nematodes in 5 gallons~20 liters of water and apllied it through the drippers. The mites were strewn down the cracks around the grodan for easy access to the coco for the mites, and a little bit on top of the grodan/jiffy because previously i've had problems with the larva of fungus gnat chewing at the bottom stem.
Removed the sticky traps at the moms so the orius wouldn't get stuck. Because of this i applied a little bit of the mites and nematodes in the mother room just as a precaution now the sticky traps are gone. Maybe i'll put back the sticky traps but this depends on where i'll find the orius. If they only are found on the plant and not in the pot or on the ground i'll put back the sticky traps(the sticky traps are placed between the pots on the ground).

A lot has happend in 18 days. Think how fast they could have reached this size if it had not been for the water problems at the beginning? Cutting down on the veg time is one of my major goals. With my system i can't veg in a separate room until the plant have the right height for flower(try move a slab with four plants in it without damaging the plants), so therefor i'm trying to cut down on veg time.

Going better with the fungus gnats, still there but at lower densities.

Moved the new skunk no 1 down the basement yesterday. Here is a pic from today.
picture.php

Maybe its difficult to see but changed the PE hose and the small drip hoses. The old was clogging to often, the inside of the PE hose(the thick one going to the small drip hoses) was filled with some kind of residue on the side that broke of and blocked the drippers.

Got the setup to test the light rail put together, and used it to veg this double round of skunk no 1.
picture.php

Got some pakistan cithral kush - my friend bought the seeds so i'm a little in doubt about the name, but we are looking for a purple pheno.
Also got some grandaddy purps, again looking for a purple pheno.
Last got some Tahoe OG and chem valley kush.
The plan is to use the tent to test the new seeds. Been some years since i last looked for a new mom - its funny to see how different seed starts compared to cuts. Going in pots and hand watering in coco, its a pain in the ass to test new plants in my current slab setup(difference i watering, plant size etc...).

Flipped the skunk no 1 after i posted pics last time(#32) so it's been flowering for 18 days now. Think the height gonna be fine this time, at least not to tall like last time!

The other side started perfect - no water issues :dance013:
The pic is from yesterday so a week since last pic(#33)
picture.php

Flipped them to 12/12 this morning. Im trying triacontanol at 0.5 ppm, started using triacontanol as soon as they were transplanted to the slabs, when they were in the grodan cubes only, they were just fed water + nutes, no triacontanol. The plan is to use triacontanol almost throughout the entire grow. I have trouble finding a detailed guide on when to use it. Think spurr wrote something about only using it in veg/start of 12/12 while other talks about using it throughout the grow. Last the triacontanol containing(like canna boost) products are used almost throughout the entire grow. A bit confused so any suggestions on when to use it would be appreciated. This time i will go from start to finish with the triacontanol and see how it works.

the other side now at day 15 of flow, this pic is from today.

The seedlings were all big enough to take cuts from some days ago, so now the cuts are starting to root and in a couple of days they will go to the 1st floor to test the light rail. Gonna go in pots and hand water them.
Gnats back in the basement, but the plants seems to do fine despite it.

How have I missed this awesome grow - LOVE YOUR STYLE!

Way to use the 600W to the max brother!

Did you set up your dripper system by yourself?

what are you using for a res?

fucking dope grow man - woohhhh wiiiii its nice - i like your tables too perfect for customization and nets!

Thanks :) Yes i have made the drippers myself. Worlds easiest task ever! In general my grow is a copy of gaius' https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=46279 if you want to see how its made. It's just 20mm PE hose as mainline with holes punched and then smaller approx 5mm lines going to the drippers. After a couple of years all the lines need replacement because of salt build ups that blocks the drippers. Concentrated ph down(HNO3)62% can dissolve the precipitates, not the reg stuff at 38%, but i think its easier to replace the lines. The drippers can be reused for as long as you want, as long they are cleaned. In general i'm quite happy with these drippers because they are not prone to clogging.
I use a 200L (approx 50 gallons) res placed outside the tents that last for 9-10 days watering 3 times a day at 40-45 sec with a 2500L/hour pump.
