2nd grow with 10 white widow seeds

Hey everyone. Well im down to half a jar from 3 and a half full jars of OGKush from my last grow so here i grow again.

I changed a few things around for my 2nd grow. As some of u may already know, my first grow was with 4 OGKush clones. They came out better than i could have ever imagined thanks to the help and tips i got here on these forums. My second grow however will be started from seed. Im growing 10 white widow seeds that i bought from Amsterdammarijuanaseeds.com. Anyways i went with this seed bank because at the time they were the only company that would ship to the USA. I recieved the seeds within 2 weeks discreetly packaged and accompanied by 10 free random seeds. I also germed the WW seeds in a bio dome under 2 T5 vho 24watts. got a 100% germ rate. Im also vegging under a 600watt metal halide conversion bulb atm as opposed to using my HPS throughout my whole first grow. I use foxfarm LW and foxfarmOF for my medium. I repotted into 8 1/4 (diameter) x 7 1/2 (height) pots. So far ive been watering every 3-4 days or when the soil is dry. No nutes yet. There only 16 days old atm. Here they are.

I have a question. judging from the pics ive provided, when would be a good time to induce flowering? There at 5-6 inches now. i was going to flip at 12 inches or so. Also I was thinking about topping but am unsure as to where to cut and when. I hope to get some feedback. thanks :chin:

I topped my durban leaving 2 nodes, you could top now and be fine but it will stop growing for a few days before it starts on the side nodes. 12" going into flower will give you a very stout plant I think, how much does WW stretch? Topping should help midigate some stretch.

When you top/fim you should try to take the least ammount of plant matter but still do away with the apical node, once that happens the side ones will start to grow and you will get a much more bushy plant. I'd play it safe and just take about 1cm of the top little leaves, try to get it right above a node.

How much verticle room do you have to grow in? If its tall you could let them go a little larger than 12" if you are topping them. I switched to 12/12 at 10" because I wanted a real stout bush and dont need a super huge yield.

Also now is about the time when you can start giving them weak nutes.

Here is what toping did to my durban, I like the results! I think this pic is around day 19 since sex showed under 12/12.

Hi Deft, thx for stoppin by to take a look at my 2nd grow. This is my first time working with the WW strain so I dont know how much they stretch. I hoping the metal halide conversion bulb i bought will keep them more compact and bushier than my OGKush clones. They were monsters. My grow room is 4x4 wide and 7ft tall. The light is about 4 feet away from the plants. U think 12 inches to start flowering will be too short of a plant at the end? I let my OGKush clones get to 16 inches before i flowered and they grew past my light. Granted I vegged and flowered under my HPS and used 4 gallon pots. This time around Im using 1 gallon pots and am veggin under MH bulb so im hoping they wont get too tall. Also do u think i should top or just let them grow natural? I want to get as much yield as i can. As for the nutes, i just watered them before i checked for any replies. I'll wait for their next watering and then start them on light nutes. Thanks Deft.

Dont know much about stretch on that as I have not grown it and I use mostly CFL lighting for my indoor micro grows. I would top if you think you have room to branch out in your cab and to controll stretch if that turns out to be a factor. 10 plants might be great with single colas in your space though, try to imagine plants like mine but larger since you have more light if you were to top. Do it if you think you need to bush out to catch more of the light, if not then just natural is fine.

If I were you I would transplant them soon into the largest pots you can fit in your space so they are well rooted in the larger pots when you switch to flower and still have some room to grow.

U dont think 1 gallon will be big enough? How big can they get in 1 gallon pots?

I've never flowered in pots that small is all, the more soil the better IMO, I like a ~3gal or larger but doing sea of green you can go smaller. Somone else chime in on this!

A buddy of mines is growing out some white widow seeds from drchronic. he bought two different ones. one order was 10 seeds for 20 something bucks and the other was for 60 something. Hes growing the 20 dollar ones atm. anyways his plants have 5 leaf fans and look more bright green where as mines have 3 leaf fans and look a duller green. Should i be concerned?

heres mine

and heres his

was getting my seeds from amsterdammarijuanaseeds.com a bad idea? :badday:

Well I've always gotten my seeds gifted from people in the area etc or from seedboutique or seedbay because of freebies and I think its a good deal and safe. Next time you buy try seedbay or seeboutique, great selection and good stealth and price.

The plant should start putting out leaves with more and more leaflets as it matures so its nothing to be concerned about at this point.

Have you started ferting yet? I just use Schultz tomato food for veg, good place to start is 1/2 of what is reccomended on the container and see if it likes it after one watering.
