Here in Charleston it was 74 yesterday and we will hit 77 today, maybe 80 tomorrow. T shirts and shorts, Monday had some nice clean windswell that faded out but got in a couple hours of late afternoon waves. Tonight my sweetie and I will go down to the pier and watch the sunset and have a cocktail. Livin the low country dream.

If you want to get hip to the weather, go to Weatherbell.com and click the daily update. Owner Joe Bastardi gives the most accurate, well reasoned skinny on all things weatherwise. He long ago predicted this cold spell, along with the warmup we are now in, and forecasts more bitter cold to reinvade the eastern US as well as most of Europe and linger well into Spring. He put out his Winter forecast in August and has been dead nuts so far. We subscribe to his premium forecasting which we have followed for 3 years regarding hurricanes and our 17 store locations and our 80 plus employees who have to decide to flee or not when the big ones form out at sea. Last year when Florence came he said Wilmington North Carolina was where it was going. Everyone else freaked out, the Governor called for mandatory evacuations, they reversed I 26 all lanes only outbound, closed school for a week, and generally caused unnecessary mayhem. We never got scared because we knew Bastardi was right. If you want to see what we got go to Swellinfo and click on Folly Beach/ Florence and watch the video. No rain, no clouds, not really much wind, and the best surfing conditions ever. And Jimmy Buffett was here with us surfing.

It's not that cold, but we got hammered with rain. Roads are washed out electric poles washed away, a couple people washed away trying to go through flash flood, haven't found them. If this storm heads east it's gonna be a nasty one...

storm IS heading east, map says it will miss us by about thirty miles to the north here. all it would take is a very minor change in winds & we get it too. was over 60 deg F yesterday, 50s today. don't like the weather here? give it an hour or so...:) oh, and rain forecast for next 10 days. like we need more rain.

Was supposed to snow last night, all we got was rain and wind. High today is in the 40's with 25-30 mph winds, gonna stay inside and finish the last trimming of last years summer crop, then get the tumbler ready for what is left...

It's a sweltering 1f here today. The sun is shining and hardly any wind. Only -11 with the windchill, but I'm inside today so it's all good.
Peace

It's 30* and snowing, fixed broken pipes yesterday, they were wrapped with insulation ans still froze and broke. I hope this cold weather ends soon I'm getting low on wood for the wood stove, not to mention the older I get the less I like the cold...

had to go to town for a grocery run, -15F two hours ago and getting colder for the night; winter is far from over up here, still two solid months of 'snow weather' left, and then it begins to wind down.

We're always hoping/praying for a fast warm spring, occasionally those hopes are answered. We'll see.
