Nice to see that im not alone with 250w hps.
Normaly i keep 1-3 plant and use scrog (i think that 250w is made for scrog)
normaly vegged 2-3 weeks.
dont have too much space for growing only 90x60x180cm closet.
setup is homemade hydro 250w hps with cooltube and couple computer fan.

i think that you will easly get 2 oz just dont worry with you plants and they will do nice.

Hi all: I'd like to introduce myself since I've been lurking for a while. Just built a new box that is 14" x 30" x 60". I split it into 2 chambers for flowering and mothers/clones. There's a thread for building the box in my sig. I was trying to decide between putting in a 150 or a 250. Went with the 250 in a DIY air cooled hood which gives be about 100 w/sf. Having some temp issues so I ordered some new fans that should be here next week. Here's a picture of it up and running

I was orginally thinking of ScROG but I decided to try running a perpetual SOG. Planning to add a pair of clones every 3 weeks to rotate 6 one gallon containers. I've got the first pair of clones about 2 weeks into 12/12 and the 2nd pair are now out of the cloner and into 4" pots to veg for a week, then they go up to the 12/12.

Hey everyone,
I want to start my first grow but it seems as if the more I read, the more lost I find myself!
I have a 22"w x 24"d x 63"h cabinet (it's a mill's pride, but I don't know the model number) Floor area is 3 2/3 sq.ft. This cab can fit four 5-gallon buckets in it exactly, with no room for anything else on the bottom. It has a movable shelf so I could adjust the height of the chamber to pretty much anything. A 250w HPS would leave me at about 70w/sq.ft. how do you think I should grow? From what I've seen DWC seems like the best bet (yes it's my first time, but soil sounds to me like a messy headache) How many plants do you think I should use in there? Should I use a scrog with fewer plants, or use 4 plants and do a sog type setup?

i'd go with coco if i use chemicals , easier than dwc , dwc is cool if you only have 1 bucket and the same strain and with coco and some buckets you could do a modscrog where each of the 4 plants have their own screen, check out verdantgreens, grow he grows 4 plants with 4 screens

I own a 250 watt HPS. Would a 250 Watt HPS be okay for clones and mother plants?

yea its okay, but it would be ideal if you took out the ignitor and installed a mh bulb in there instead or a cmh would be easiest without modding anything

Hey guys just wanted to know why my plants have rusty spots on the older leaves. The mother plant and the current one all have the rust spots, but clones in new soil are fine. Could it be soils were bad? All came from the same store, but different batches. Will post picsw soon, plants are sleeping. Also, will a little light leak interfere with flowering?

250s kick ass! I'm seeing lots of nice buds in this thread.
I run 3 600's in SOG currently getting a little over 1lb per light but I can't help but miss my 250w scrog cab because thats what I started with. What's not to love about 6+oz from such low wattage? I gave my 250w to a buddy to get him started about 9 months ago and now he is upgrading to a 1000w so I'll be getting my 250 back and keeping it going forever. I'm thinking about doing 4 plants with seperate scrog screens kinda like Verdant Green next time around to cut down on veg time a little bit. I used to veg around 6 weeks with 2 plants in a scrog which is way too long for any indoor grow IMO.
I wouldn't dare try a 600w scrog because I get fast, reliable, and somewhat predictable yields from SOG and I'm more than happy with my yields per plant. I would not do SOG under a 250w though because I just don't think it's worth it to flower a bunch of plants that won't produce atleast one ounce per. I feel like 250's are just perfect for scrogs.

those modular scrog screens make it good for any wattage imo
yes if you get the right strain then just 2-3 weeks veg after rooting + stretch will fill the screen - especially if you give it a nice repot when you flip it - i go straight from veg in a 1 gallon pot to flower and screenfit in a 3-4 gallon pot. you get a decent amount of stretch with pretty much anything then - even uk cheese which is a slow vegger grew like mad after that treatment

Whaaaaaaat? are you serious? only 2-3 weeks veg? I can live with that...That's not any longer than my sog veg time! I guess I will need to try a 600 scrog after all. Most of my strains stretch for almost 3 weeks anyway. I don't really grow anything indoors that I can grow outside...(9-13wk strains mostly)

How do you manage a repot when scrogging? Do you just pull the whole plant out from under the screen then slide it back in?

i use modular scrog - a screen is attached to each pot. my flowering cab is perpetual so i cant switch it to veg. i veg the plants into small bushes - topping once or twice, then i go from 1 gallon to 3-4 gallon pots with the screen fitted and place in the flowering cab. the repotting delays flowering slightly and this with the more intense light + stretch just makes them put on a big growth spurt and i find that most plants will grow MORE than enough to fill the screen. Indica doms may need a it more veg - maybe 4 weeks. you can veg plants under fairly cheep lights. my veg cab is 100 watts if cfl 16/8 so if you have a separate little cab - you are not 'wasting' time vegging.
