I started out with a 250 they can give ya some amazing results now hes retired to the veg chamber and his older brother... wait no brothers the 1000's took over :-D
hi I've been setting up my 250 now and I wanted to know what everyone is using as a reflector. Most seem to be too big for a 250, at least my econogro one is
Seems the 400watters and the 150Watters all had their clubs on here, I figured it was time to step up the old 250W thread.
Tirs - I use a batwing reflector that came with my ballast and it works well. I hear Turkey basting trays that you can pick up at the supermarket also work well.
Good luck with your setup, 250W is the perfect lamp for energy conservation and growing a nice personal stash.
thanks for the tip TML16, I modded my econo to fit better (read bent the shit out of it lol) anyway now I'm trying to fight temps, they were holding at 100F. I'm setting up a stealth dresser, it looks awesome. Only thing showing is a thin wire going in the back. I made a false back out of pegboard to conceal my vent holes.

'true' back wall 'false pegboard wall'
Like that pic there if that makes any sense. Like I sad it makes it true stealth but I think that might be contributing to the temps considering I have a vortex and digital ballast in there. . Temps should not be 25F above ambient. I will update with pics if I get the damn thing running properly.
BTW- does postioning of temperature probe matter? should I shade it or leave it in full light for a more accurate reading?
TML16, In one of you bud shots above. It looked like you had acouple of male pods there?!?!....No biggie I guess if you harvasted and its great smoke?..
I am also using a 250HPS....but I use a 1000/400hps also...grand total=1650watts
Grenouille - Some tasty genetics you got there, can't wait to see your 250W grow. Good Luck!
ShroomDr - That is some serious 250W growing my friend...way to go!
Tirs - Glad I could help in any little way. Good luck with your setup...can't wait to see some pics.
xxoshz25xx - Yeah, I had noticed some nanners growing in a few days before harvest. I had actually planned to harvest about 4 days later, but the nanners kept coming so I decided to pull her for her own sake and the sake of my BB plant.
It was from bagseed and the bud I got was heavily seeded. Great weed though, and it's usually hard to find a seed in any of the local I've bought. Tastes and smells just like Grapes!
i used to use a 250 and pulled about 3 oz every two months with another vegg chamber. they are nice and cheap to run but ive since upgraded to a 1000w. big difference from two plants to eight. 250s rules tho, especially when u only have a small area.
My quest is to increase my yields while using a 250 w.
I might go to a 270 but my temperature dynamic is precarious at best so even 20 watts could have a profound effect.
But the first and easiest thing to do is increase my pot size and veg longer.
I just don't seem to harvest enough to last.
I used to start my seeds in spent ffof soil with extra perlite for 2 weeks. move them into 1 gallon pots for 2-3 weeks then transplant them to 2 gallon pots and switch.
Now, I am vegging longer, transplant to a 3 gallon pot and veg a week or more then flower.
I have been considering getting some liquid Karma and some mycorhizza(sp) innoculant though I would have thought ewc/guano teas would have provided them.
I hope to see a 50% increase as this will hold between harvests.
This was my first and only run so far. I used a 250 hps cooltube with a 240 cfm 4" inline in a c13 cab chopped to 48" tall to fit my space. I used 50/50 Fox Farms Ocean Forrest/ perlite and I fed with pureblend pro and some guano shit that smelled horrible, but worked awsome.
The yellowing is from the flush and the folded/ missing blades are just to allow light to the bottom. I did no training as it was my first run.
