cool building and love seeing a build come together neighbor...im also in your area albiet a little lower in elevation pursueing a very similar project...

i went down to O-ville and inquired about permits...holy shit what a headache. just to install a regular garage shop required a whole bunch of things i had to figure out. there have been many many rumors and even news stories about code department cracking down on illegal buildings and illegal terracing/greenhouses so good luck! up at 6k im sure you will be a little safer..

anyways i went a different route and got a commercial metal building and im gonna build out the rooms inside, very similar to your route except doing a mix of 2x6, 2x4, and uni-strut for the walls. no need to deal with silly permits or worrying about someone dropping a dime for code violations. now for my outdoor grow and the newly planned terraces, lets hope they dont see those!

Whhhhats crackin homie :). Thats the exact route i was going to go until i found a contractor with some family problems that were affecting his job and needed money haha. I got this cheaper than i could have a metal building the same size. You;ll have to PM me some pics or something as in a few months i am planning on putting another one up on lower piece of property.. How about this weather tho?

Yes i have both a nice A/C system planned and have several dehumidifiers if the need arises for them but you are correct with my climate being dry and this year is damn near record droughts throughout this area :) Good idea on the rubber if i ever come into an issue that is probably the route i would go expect at Tractor Supply they sell thick ass rubber mats that i believe are used for horse stables and things like that.

The normal moisture barriers are probably fine. But if you go that route then you can just price check on rubber roofing membranes and firestone rubber. this would be an expensive option either way but since it is an entire sheet with no seams it will not allow moisture by. its great stuff and it is very big. heavy as all get out. youll need a forklift practically to unload the rolls... heavy.

the aquaculture guys use a ton of this shit- BUT for aquaculture you MUST make sure you get the untreated rubber, just plain rubber liner. No additives etc for roofing... that will kill your fish people.

Nice build C, I love to see things come together from the ground up.

I am shopping homes with outbuildings at the moment. Do you have any ball park
figures you can share on all your electric work costs? I have not found any electricians
willing to give me any figures with out seeing the place first. I need to factor all my
electric upgrade costs into my budget that I can spend on a house. Many thanks for
any insight and, many blessing on your new spot too..

this weather is interesting for sure...the temps are so nice outside that i should have planted a flowering crop. my neighbor down the road is about to finish some plants in his greenhouse, sun is shining every damn day. now the water situation...yikes. thankfully my water truck guy is buying a 3rd truck for his fleet, and im gonna add a few extra water tanks this year. theres lots of talk about many wells going dry this season.

cannicowboy- i got pretty lucky and found a metal building that the previous owner already took care of all the permits for, it even has its own seperate 200amp service and is already established on a commercial PGE rate plan. it was previously used as a CNC shop for several years, never got listed on the MLS found it through a friend of a friend. it was a nice find i had to scoop it up, theres also a huge clearing that can easily fit three 24x96 greenhouses, so gotta inquire about permits for those. my friend is on a hillside in butte that has a dozen + unpermitted greenhouses and terracing and none of those guys have gotten code checks yet, but that can always change quick.

i spent around 2k just on wiring and outlets for my spot capable of powering 40kw, heavy gage wire is pricy and adds up. and those damn metal sleeves are pretty pricy too @ around 80-100 bucks per 25 feet. this is not including labor since my partner is a certified electrician so he did all the work. also not including any extra subpanels or timer box you might install. so id say budget 5k for everything to be safe.

Coming along nicely Cartel.....
I think you could loose a light in each row and still achieve a great Lumen per square foot reading. Especially with 1000's. 3 lamp rows seem abit overkill. You could make a whole nother flower room with those lamps. Put those extra lamps on light movers and hell man, you'll be pumpin out 50% more than you would if you keep them in the same room.

keep the lights.. a 24x30 the way ur setup.. can deff pull 2 pounds a light all day long. take a light out.. and ull pull more like 1.3 max.. with all the overlap.. every bud in that room should be a nice nugget worth trimming!.

I'm at about 6k. I am insulating it. It was only about 500 from lowes with a 10 percent off add i found in the junk mail.

Pro tip: Anytime you want another one of those just stop by your local post office and ask for the change of address form, they'll give you an envelope with one in it.

Nice shop btw :)

Nice build!! Any updates? I have a question about pg and e. How can you get a commercial rate on a shop that's like yours on a residential spot?

I'm up in the same area. It's good to know that the requirements for a new unpermitted structure are a 10x10 area. I'll have to look into that. Definitely don't want any problems with code people out here.

The climate has been crazy weird. If I had a greenhouse I would have definitely put something out. The first major rain we got was in the last few week.s

We'll see what happens with this water shortage. I know lots of people are dependent on having water delivered. If there is a huge drought, I wondered if they would even let them sell water this year.

Good luck with the project. I think the cocobeds are a great idea.

Welll after a heating mat thermostat failure set me back and knocked a good number of clones off i had to fill some spaces with some bigger females from seeds. Couple pics after the lights kicked off.

I let them grow with no topping or training. I like to see the way the plant is going to turn out on her own so i know what methods to
use in the future if they are worth keeping and after seeing third Coasts biker kush i hope to find something good from the one female that made it haha.

Karma's Biker Kush V2.0 in the front surrounded by three of Bodhi's sunshine Daydream. Sorry for the shitty pics I am gonna buy a nice camera shortly. PROMISE

Probably take a few pics once its deeper into flowering. I'm ready to get these the fuck out and start over! Had some minor bumps along the way that prolonged this out so things are outta control and messy this run :moon:. Hoods for the other 12 light room are on the way and i will be getting a nice AC installed to run both of the 12 light rooms. I will add updates as i build the other room and will start a thread after this run. Hope to do a whole room of glue when the next room is up.

Yea next time ill be getting it done the right way. Thats what happens when you would rather pay someone to take care of everything and trust them and then find out its not the way haha. Yea im new to coco let alone coco beds still figuring out the watering on it but luckily ive got a few good homies that know it and passed the formula haha.
