Here is the entry way. The work light is shining directly onto the door. To the right you can see where the opening for the door is. At the end of the hallway you can see the panel. I am still trying to figure out where to mount all the ballasts and flip box. I need to decide what exactly is going on upstairs. Any ideas or inspiration let me know, I'm all ears.

id load up all ur equipment upstairs honestly.. all at hte highest point or on a wall.. with a exhaust up in the ceiling.. 10-14 k runnin 24/7 is going to produce some heat.. just my opinion. i run 4 k .. an it can get hot withouot the proper exhaust.. im hoping to get to ur level soon.. i could easily do the work.. just need to find a house and get cash together to actually make it professional.

i would think putting ballasts etc upstairs would be the best plan, maybe along a shelf 6-8
' off the ground so you could still throw a room up there without the heat from em getting to the plants. heat rising and whatnot.

if running wiring that distance was an issue though, i might just stick em all in there own room with an exhaust pulling all the heat from the top.

how much veg wattage do you plan on having? that was my biggest mistake when i setup my flip, i didnt setup a proper veg and suffered by paying rent on empty rooms that werent producing.

I would put the ballast in the hall on the first floor. The wiring runs will be shorter and metal duct is cheaper. Mount them on the ceiling with a fan blowing on them to keep them cool. Mounting them on the ceiling splits the distance that the cord need to be running to the light fixtures.

I think the best set up would be a subpanel dowstairs and the outlets and upstairs, Then I can kill power to the lights quickly wether I am upstairs or down stairs. There will be ample exhaust, and probably a flame defender. I am gonna ask my electrician buddy when he comes over.

I am going to have to veg in the rooms because the upstairs is accessed by an attic ladder. There wont be room to haul trees from up stairs and bring them down stairs. I am waiting to finish the ceiling in one room because I still need to bring some water tanks upstairs.

I actually have two 4x8 tables and if I have enough patients I was thinking about running some coco beds up stairs like Jack.

Now I am thinking about building an elevator out of a wench so I could veg upstairs and then move them downstairs.....
I would have to make a removable panel in the ceiling of at least one of the rooms... but it really doesn't sound that bad now does it.

The ceilings are a bit low at 7.5' plus I dont like the feng shui of all the ballasts in the entry way:biggrin: but I have thought about it. And it may end up that way after I talk to the sparky.

Damn bro... you are a busy fella!! Keep up the good work, that shit's gonna be proper, much love, SL :shooty:
haha I will be busy when they are all going at once!

AWESOME IDEA. i think as long as you try to keep it simple, it could work.

any specific ideas for the elevator? enclosed like a true elevator? a platform that can just go up and down 7.5ft? A CRANE?!

how about a dry wall lift? 10ft reach, 100lb max load. DIY a platform and secure it to the lift.

I like where this is going, I want to do everything from above and lower it down. I should talk to some of my genius welder buddies. I bet they could come up with some kind of crank system that is fairly inexpensive.

I have been thinking about using an electric winch. So I decide to do a quick search and look at what I find on the first hit.

I love the internet.

I will have to see if this is in the budget.

Here's how we got the 4x8 trays upstairs.
Sparkys coming tomorrow to set up a sub panel, flip box and Run some circuits.

awesome will be watching I am setting up a very similar style room and I amalso thinking of doing a two story flip. might add a control room that will substitute for my bed as well when the nights get late.. would like to have my panel with each room and it's equipment in the same room so I can control the whole shop from one room.. interesting idea on the lift I'll see how it goes for you first lol.... I will let you know how I end up setting up the second story access point .. much respect on the work you are doin I know how hard tHe work and time it takes for this kind of project ...
