Think it'll make it?

OUch! What soil is that? I don't see any perlite or vermiculite in it, can you get some?

Personally..... if those were my seedlings? I'd put them into the ER......

Get these items:

3-watt aquarium pump
2-3 feet of aquarium tubing
Bubble wand or 6" airstone OR line T's and multiple mini-airstones
Rubbermaid or other HIGH QUALITY shoebox sized plastic container with lid
Reverse Osmosis water
2 cups of tap water
Something to make 1/2" holes in the lid
Styrofoam from an egg carton
Sharp knife
Perlite (medium sized bits)
Vermiculite
pH drops kit or pen
pH UP

Use the aquarium pump, tubing, stones, RO water and tap water to make a mini bubbler. Fill it within an inch to an inch and a half from the lid
Drill or make 1/2" holes in the lid, approximately 2" apart.

Cut squares of the styrofoam out with the sharp knife and cut a thin triangle from the edge to the middle of each piece.

Gently wash the dirt off the roots, slide the foam piece across the stem and feed the roots down through a hole in the lid. The foam should support the plant.

They should survive and get a little healthier than they are now for the next week. After that, if you need more time, you'll need to nute the water and you'll need to pH it and keep it cool. I recommend re-transplanting them to your newly amended soil before then.

Take that soil and add some vermiculite and perlite. Use the pH drops to pH your nute water to around 7.0 before you water the new soil.

Essentially the bubbler will allow you to grow a really healthy root structure on the seedlings/clones/whathaveya while you fix the soil issue. Just be sure to use some really finely ground and super-dry soil to powder every last square mm of each root before transplanting. Any roots that are packed next to other roots in soil, without any soil between them, will pretty much rot and cause issues. :D

Hey thanks bro  It's actually pure coco though...I dunno, always had 100% or near to, with that, plenty do. Except in winter. My cab gets down into the upper 60s so between that and the dialling in, I'm pretty sure I can explain my failure here. Don't mean to dismiss your advice by any means, just that I'm lazy and don't like changing, hehe. Coco seems to have a lot of diehard users like me.

I don't mind too much if the last cut dies now as I've gone overboard with the new seeds I planted and a cutting at a different stage would just mess things up now. They're a lot more viable like I said. And if I can find one, they'll have a heat mat.

And after that I should have things dialled in nicely for when some better seedstock comes my way :D:yes:

I'll try to post up some pics of the mothers/father of the seeds I have planted currently.

Think it'll make it?

It looks like it could make it through, but you're going to have to baby it. Put a dome over it for a 4-6 days. Then start taking the dome off for only an hour at a time. Begin leaving it off for longer and longer. Leave it off for 12-24 hours and if it doesn't drop then she'll be ok.

Using a dome though will cause her to grow roots slower because it won't need water as bad, causing her to be lazy. But you have to do this if its shocked like this.

This happened to my clone and that's what I did. 1 out of 3 made it, but to be fair I cut them off a plant that was chopped down and stuffed into a trash bag for a few hours. I also used coco, btw.

Hehe no worries brah! Thanks too, Cosy. Well I uploaded those pics. What I have planted right now are 12 x Skunk #1 x Full Moon, and 12 x Afghan x Full Moon. Has anyone ever even heard of Full Moon? It's a pure sativa and I've never seen anyone grow it. Anyways, don't have a pic of the male but here are the females from the same batch:

They revegged. I hate growing sats outdoors here. Two of the three snapped over before harvest.

The Skunk #1 is the same that's in a lot of my photos. Was a fairly airy pheno but a great hardy strain - 50/50 ind/sat. Last time I grew it vs first time I grew it. :D

The Afghan was very indica and a very bizarre plant. It grew differently each time. This last time you couldn't even see the buds! The leaves kind of folded their prongs together as if you were closing one of those japanese paper fans, and then the stems of the leaves just stretched like crazy to the longest I've ever seen...I think to let light in, dunno. But it was very hard to see any buds but they were there and it was killer, hairy red dank. :)

Here is the smallest plant I've ever grown... 1.8G's baby!

And here is my old veg cab I used to use after the early veg computer stage. It was a 1 tonne cement bag in a metal rack frame and I'd carry the plants outside every day, and back in here at night for a few hours. Very minimal CFLs, it was only to keep them tricked into veg. It was extremely ghetto but worked perfectly.

Here's some plants vegging with that CFL/sunlight trick.

And here is the only time I've grown in soil in recent years. (from seed, no CFLs)

Hope you don't mind all the semi unrelated pics, I uploaded em so may as well show em. :D

Your going to be swiming in buds soon! that's a beastly carbon filter it's almost as big as your grow box!

I'd better be! :D Oh yeah thanks, that reminds me - this unit is very well sealed, zero chance of air exiting anywhere except through carbon, but I did the incense test and it's not working anywhere near as good as last grow. I'm covered for veg but I'll have to scout the whole damn town and find some activated shit. Bummer. At least I can look for a heat mat at the same time.

Dunno if your scrubber is structurally sound enough to handle the additional weight..... Use the kitty litter crystals if you can find them. I've used it for 2 grows now, albeit with low stink strains.

Worth a shot since a gallon jug of it is only about $10 in the states.

Yeah I had seen you mention those in your thread I think. I will investigate! One question though, do they actually filter the smell or just kind of perfume/disguise it? Or a combination of both?

about the heat mats. I dont know too much about them but I'm pretty sure if you have a gardening store anywhere near you that they will have heat mats!

Hey thanks, you know what? I actually started using an old skool incandescent bulb in there down low and it keeps the rootzone warmer. I put it on a timer 15/15 minutes off/on only through the night and I'm aiming for around 75 - 77ish. Works great and cheap :D I just gotta dial it in some more tonight and it should be spot on.

Totally and completely eliminates the smell. How stinky is the piss from 'your' cat? :D

Haha, well, that's a pretty good recommendation! Can't hurt to give it a try, and I shall.

Well, I got 6kg (13 litres) today, "Catsan" Crystals. I put 3kg in and that's about 1 inch thick maybe less. It works a lot better than the thicker layer of non activated carbon did, that's for sure. Still not 100% but I can afford to go much deeper yet. I put the second fan back on at last and I have a lot of flow. :D

Oh yeah I should add that it probably would filter 100% of bud smell, just that I use incense to test and that's a lot stronger than weed imo. But it seems to let as much of a trace of incense smell through as my tent's filter did at flower time, and that blocked the bud smell well. Only thing that has me worried is the crystals say on the packet that they only lasts 4 weeks. Other people on here claim it lasts 4 to 6 months I think I read. So we will have to see. I'll probably still spring for activated carbon just in case these strains turn out extra stinky. Maybe even a mix? Will keep you all informed, thanks once again Hydro!

I also bought a new pipe today. It's rocked me. :nono: Peace out.

Hi,

i went for the 2 x 80W pl-l from top grow systems.

They run pretty hot in my opinion, with a 120mm PC fan on 50% on the lights and a
120mm pc fan 100% for outlet i have a temp of 27,8 C.

Distance lamps - plants 15cm

But what is up with cooling the lamps and loosing lumens ?

Hmm I remembered Hydro saying something about that but when I found the info he was talking about t5's. Is this what you mean?

http://www.icmag.com/ic/showpost.php?p=2390976&postcount=8

I'm not sure if it helps but I saw a vent thing sold for computer fans that directs it into a straight jet, cos the normal pattern is more of a hollow funnel shape radiating out from the fan. I run only one bulb at the moment with an 80mm fan blowing from tip to base, and by the time it's airflow gets to the base end of the lamp, it's largely dissipated out to the sides. Then I have the main exhaust flow sucking up at that point, but they do still get a bit hot especially if the 80mm is undervolted.

Ahhh The Nexus Beamair

Yes, it's the T5HO's that lose output if they are cooled below 35C. The t5 biax or PL-L's can be cooled without lumen loss..

ScrubNinja, love your work with those outdoor beauties, especially the bonsais. Sure I missed it somewhere but what flavor are you going to put in the new cab?

Aye, that's the worries I had. It weighs more and you end up needing a thicker layer. Other than that, it works great. In my setup, the air goes through 2 wide layers a little over a half inch thick each. It takes the whole gallon jug so it's not exactly light. LOL
I'd also think about changing it or 'baking' it (In an oven) to re-activate it before a second grow, don't think it works that well after 3 months.

Cheers Aero! I actually grew a few real bonsais when I was a kid, great hobby.

The seeds I'm waiting to pop out now (been approx 4 days) are twelve Skunk #1 x Full Moon...and twelve Afghan x Full Moon. Full Moons are a pure sativa which is why I was trying to get the older Aussie Blue seed to sprout...without luck.

If these guys come up, I'll definitely lean towards keeping the Afghan crosses because it should be the least sativa. (and best smoke too)

Hey Hydro, yeah I figure I can run easily another half inch without issue, might get on that today. I'm quite obsessed with this stuff now - it could come in handy for a lot of things in a grow. I also love the glow that comes through it from the light underneath :D

Was a bit dusty at first but the cab vents straight out the window. :abduct:
