I just found this thread and I'm too stoned to read every post. :joint: I was wondering what it is your growing, I saw one of your post saying something about AK's but are those Auto-AK's or just normal flowering?

Oh, and are you planning on finishing in that cab?

Hi All. First of all, I gotta mention - my light trap idea has been added to the top 6 personal choices of Pontiac's OFFICIAL ~DIY~ LINK-O-RAMA!

:D:yes:

Tariq: cheers man!

Boom: Will do! Man, have you seen the short sample videos of microbeman's dvd? I will try to find them and link em up. Bloody amazing. It's microscopic video of the microbes doing their thing in a pumping, true organic system. Will shoot you a message about the store now.

GreenBastard: LOL that's cool bro. I know the feeling well. What I have right now is five AK47 x Princess Diesel, and one from some generic outdoor bush seed (probably got Mango in it). And I should get about 4 pop up soon of some Full Moon x Shiva Skunk (made these myself). All should be normal flowering.

I'm just waiting to see what the female numbers are but I will absolutely be flowering all the way in the PLL cab. I'll probably use the Hashcan for bits and pieces - keeping males seperate, vegging late starters, etc.

All my plants will be LSTd to start and then I'll see how I feel. But I think LST will give me the most flexibility. This is only my second time flowering indoors and first time using PLLs so it's all an adventure.

One of the AKs toppled over last night but I propped it up. :/ should be ok. Edit: nope, will probably lose one.

Check out the vorticella video here. I want a microscope now.

Those sound like some nice strains, can't wait to see them finish.

Though I'm a little concerned as to whether or not they all are gonna fit, but I trust you know what your doing. The LTS should really help that out though.

Oh, and sorry to hear about those AK's, was really looking forward to them. Hopefully they'll come through.

^that's how I felt this morning when I checked IC, heheh.

Yeah not too sure what made the AK do that. It looks pretty healthy propped up but the stem is fat near the top and tapers down really skinny so I can't see it improving or even living.

No worries about the lst, I'm pretty confident with it. I used to grow bonsais when I were a young'un. Had an awesome fig growing on top of a volcanic rock with gnarly roots stretched over the rock. I trained it with copper wire. I may get back into (regular) bonsai now that I'm getting familiar with soil again. But yeah, always gotta have a few extra just in case. And I do have a tent all set up if I need space. Just gotta watch my electricity as it's not my account.

Not sure but isn't a skinny stem the sign of disease or something? I remember having that issue years ago but I haven't seen it since. Dang.... wish I could remember. :(
Don't give up though.... If the top stays healthy there's still a chance that it will overpower what's wrong and that stem will fatten up just fine. :D

Yup I agree. also I only changed method from drenching them just after I planted the Ak crosses, so they had one big drench when I planted, and then strictly controlled watering after that. Their second watering wasn't til much later after sprouting. So maybe just some damp coco hangover from the original barrage of water. Most of the previous failures have had thin stem issues too.

The rest of the AKs look better stemmed :)

Will be very interesting to see what the Full Moon/Shivas will do.

lol for real :asskick: I had no problem taking a short break between cycles while I finished the cab off but I really wasn't expecting all this drama. Can you imagine how rocky my start with organics is going to be?

Another ak started leaning slightly. I turned the fan down to minimum and I think I was erring the opposite way and letting them get too dry. The sickly outdoor is not gonna make it. No fullmoon/shivas have sprouted yet but I've planted 24 of the outdoor seeds in seed raising soil. That should give me around 5 from the previous germination rate.

I'm going to try and get some more clone material. Maybe try some in a glass of water - people say it works well? I'm a little hesitant to plant the other Princess Diesel crosses until I can get my shit together. :fsu:

Hey bro, you can keep cuttings in water until you are ready to put them into the growing medium of choice for rooting, i have two cuttings that have been sitting in a glass of water for two weeks now and they are starting to look more healthy now then when on the mom plant, just make sure you change the water regularly and that the cuttings are not too close to any light source, i have read on here about people putting the cuttings in a ziplock then into the vegetable drawer of the fridge for weeks on end also, bit strange that one, haven't tried it myself but the glass of water trick does work my friend, just my :2cents:, I wish you better luck with it all bro.
Peace.

Thanks boomster. I actually put the clone material in a ziploc bag with some water cos it's an hours (very nervous) drive away. I was meaning actually rooting them in the glass of water. I admit it sounds a bit dodge but people claim to get good success - no airstone just water. I think I would try it on the side with one clone just to test. Do yours ever throw roots out in the glass of water?

Not even sure if there's anything that I can clone anyway. Not that it's emergency stations or anything. I just don't want to be caught out if the other AKs take a dive overnight. No rest for ninjas. Hope you're well, man.

Ok the AKs didn't turn out so good. They're still there but not really gonna make it. But it does get better.

I scored 7 Leda Uno f2 seeds. It's meant to be sativa but these ones I saw were quite indica - great! I'll hang on to these for a bit until I get my propagational act in shape.

But wait. it does get better again! I also picked up a Pure clone! Well, sort of. I think it was a revegged clone and then something something, then it got thrown in the dark for a week, then treated like shit about 7 other ways, then ripped out of it's pot this morning and thrown away, and that's when I got there :D ScabNinja! Dude says it will come back no problem and I agree. It's already improved heaps :)

I've moved all propagation to the tent under my 2 x 18w fluoro tubes (4000k). I made a reflector today real quick, still have to shape it better as I was in a rush. I also want to try the foil tape trick as mentioned by LadyLargely. Can't hurt to do both.

That last pic shows the exhaust system - a 120mm cooler master wedged into some 150mm ducting in the roof of the tent. It's .38 amps on the sticker and very quiet and keeps temps perfect with the weak ass fluoros. Pretty much silent. And I have a cheap 80mm blowing along the length of the tubes/tops of plants.

All pretty cool huh.... BUT WAIT!

There's even more :D

This is another Pure, both mentioned are same cut as I grew last time btw.

It's thick as pig shit

I just have two bulbs in at the moment cos it got a little roughed up in transit. I did one basic HST to get things started before it gets any higher.

Plant itself was vegged in sunlight+cfl and looks like she's given up a fair few cuts. I'll chuck in the other bulbs in the morning and start with the LST. I obviously want to get a hundred cuts off it myself before I flower her ;)

It does get better one more time too. I read up on fem seeds and filled the last piece of the puzzle in. I've ordered some silver wire and got everything else ready for a colloidal silver generator. This shit is on!

So I am thinking the Hashcan will be used to flower the runty Pure and make fem seed with it. The Pure is a perfect choice for this imo. This is gonna be soooo good if everything isn't dead when I wake up tomorrow! :woohoo:

And I also picked up some panda plastic to line the Hashcan, without going to the hydro store. :joint:

Has been a busy day. I have a few seeds sprouting too - they're juuust poking out of the coco - should I have them almost touching the 2 x 18w fluoro tubes once they do the initial sprouting thing, like even after a day or two, is it ok to put them that close to a tube that early? (I've never used tubes before). Thanks.

Cheers cheese I was impressed too :) Can you imagine how bushy it's going to be after I take cuts? Woah. I have to veg it some more before I can take cuts as it's recently been done. I'm going to trim a lot of leaves out of the middle too.

Hey Scrub, things are looking up bro nice acquisitions for the tent, that pure is nice an bushy plenty of cuts on that one. I think my cuttings in the glass of water are starting to throw roots, added a touch of superthrive to the water two days ago and they are now looking even better with something happening at the ends, so i'm going to leave these ones and see what happens. With you're new seedlings keep them within 4-8 inches from the tubes and you will be fine, you can make daily adjusts if you think they are too close. Once they start throwing more leaves bro you can keep them close. The second photo in ya post showing the group shot in the tent looks like the distance is fine. Happy Gardening.
Peace.

Instant crop. Just add water.

Instant crop. Just add water.

Thanks a lot b00m. Good to know. I might snip a lil branch off now and put it in water. Good timing, man - Here's some more eye candy.

I started trimming some fan leaves out, exposing some new tips and it's still bushy as hell. I'm flushing some new coco today and I'll repot it soon. What I'ma gonna aim for is just the big plant in the cupboard, in a much shorter, broader rectangular pot. The whole thing will hopefully be much like it is now, except covering the whole floorspace on one level. Sort of a screenless scrog.

Right I'm up to speed Scrub. Re-read the first few pages as I started it a while ago, amazing how much more of it made sense this time in regard to the fans etc! Also I think HashCan is a great cab name! haha

Looks like you've had some rotten luck with older seeds. I've got a load of old choice seeds put aside over the years (in the dark). I'm wondering if they'll be, frankly, garbage now!! haha ha oh well I'd only have used them for trial run purposes anyway. I'll still give them a whirl.

Heya Strangely! :) I'm glad you could pop by.

I know this is the 20th time I've said this, but I really, really, really think I've worked out the seedling issue now. Well, my friend did anyway, just before he loudly berated me for being a worthless n00b : Seriously, I'm not even gonna tell you guys what it was because it's just that damn embarassing!

So having said that, I sort of lied, I have one rapidly-looking-better Ak x PD that should definitely make it now, it's just a little behind. :woohoo:

3 x Full Moon x Shiva have sprouted, we'll see if real leaves develop. And more of the outdoor seed is going to come up any day.

In the seedling tent I'm now using 1 x 4000k and 1 x 10,000k. Just seeing what happens since most of these seedlings won't fit in anywhere and will be discarded I'm guessing. Now there's some irony.

I repotted the big momma and started LSTing. It looks awesome. :D

Oh yeah the seed viability problem of my self-made seeds was absolutely my fault. I think you guys would pass out if you heard how they were stored early on, lol. But now I keep them very safe, airtight, cool, dry, and dark.

Surprise me with your plans bro, anywhere is good :)

Come on come clean, if you've done it others (ok, me!) will do it as well!! Or a cheeky PM perhaps? Seedling stage is one of the grow bits I'm cagey about. Probably need to read up on it again as it was one of the first things I looked at.
