2200w Orange Bud

It's the first time I'm trying this method of growing...I got inspiration from Growdoc back on OG. Loved the idea of a table set-up. So I'll see what happens at harvest.

Hej neilspotshop,

Plan is to vegg this room for about 2 weeks then switch to 12/12. I've got more clones on the way which I will vegg outdoors then move them to the table set-up.

sorry if i missed the answers to these:

1. what's the soil composed of? what's the fertilization regime?

2. how does this table drain?

3. is the wood treated with anything? are you using a liner?

4. what the hell are you gonna do with all that soil after you've harvested a few times? is the idea to just let microbes regenerate as if it were a field? are you going to plant a cover crop and plow it under? (kidding)

looking forward to seeing your plants bud... i got some cali o from nirvana in the mail right now (yippee)

yea I'm still here TML16. I'll try and get some pics in before the weeks end.

Hello muddy waters. 1. The table holds about 2500lt of soil, which is mainly compost and soil from my farm. The mix is organic. 2. Drainage is not an issue as I never over water the table. 3, Yes the wood is treated but I have lined the table with industrial plastic. 4. After this harvest I'll basically add more compost & fertilizers and try to regenerate the soil.

Thanks for dropping by.

thanks for the reply and i look forward to seeing your bud shots. are the various orange plants all pretty similar in stature, growth, taste, smell, potency? i'd be interested to know.

i also am curious how you fertilize, or what goes into the compost initially--some kind of manure? do you lighten the mix with sand, coco fiber, perlite, vermiculite, or things of that nature?

i'm currently growing in an organic mix in a drainless tub so i know about the precise watering... but i would be concerned about aeration and gas exchange in a drainless tub that was 50 cm deep. don't you think you might be getting some anaerobic zones? i also think, depending on your climate, you might be creating perfect conditions for pithium and other destructive fungi, due to low oxygen levels and decomposing root matter from previous harvests. i think it might be a wise idea to innoculate the whole thing with a batch of aerated compost tea to out-compete the harmful microbes, perhaps as a preventative measure...

happy crops

I've grown alot of Cali-O over the past few years and I haven't noticed much difference between the two. Mind you this type of set-up is a first for me and the one thing I have noticed is how fast they grow now from when I was using 15lt buckets, HUGE difference actually. That might come down to the strain or just that the roots have a lot more space with this table set-up. Referring to fertilizing of the soil. I make my own compost which comes from the dinner table basically. I use horse and cow shit that has been steaming away over the winter months. I have mostly taken soil directly from my farm. I'm yet to run into problems with this new style of growing, though problems are expected. Harvest time I'd say would be around 5-6 weeks away, rough judgment. Pics should be up around tomorrow sometime. Thanks.

finally got around to taking some pics. Well, I've got a slight problem with stretching this time around. I've now tied a few down which has worked out fine. It does look a tad scary in there but it's all manageable. Thanks.

Calio just doesn't seem as natural topped until the final 2 weeks, then she shines like always. Nice update.

lookin like the enchanted forest in here radneo!

Great update pics.

Do you have odour issues? and if so how do you possibly control the odour of that many plants.

My chronic X Cali-O plants seems to have no odour as well, I hear Chronic is a pretty low odour plant (odd considering it's part skunk cross) was wondering the same about the Cali-o.

Can't wait to see it full of crazy bud madness.

Great job eh

Thanks for dropping by all. To date have had no odour problems, which is a first for me. I live just around the corner form the middle of nowhere so I have no concerns either way. Cali-O stinks a whole lot more than OB. I'll try and get some pics in on Sunday.

A bag full of weed and the aftermath. This is probably the worst grow I've done. I did not have a lot of time with this grow and my plants suffered severely for that. Ohwell back to the drawing boards.
