Foothill, how long are you runs of wire for the cameras? I'm 300' from my garden so I don't think I can go wired but not sure. I was thinking $400 picture message trail cam.

2 yrs ago I ran a 300ft wire down to my gate for a camera. then one of my helpers dug through it with a shovel. i still havent replaced it, those long cables are expensive. will probably do it this fall just for peace of mind

Obviously alot of factors come into play on this. If the leaves are facing directly into the sun especially at a perpendicular angle to the rays beaming down on it and it is wet with oil id start getting worried around 930 or 10am. Typically tho ill see the liquid evaporate off fairly quick and at worst a slight little spot or two where the oil is left behind creating the magnifying glass effect. This all is assuming you are spraying at sunrise, which im assuming you are, and it happens to be very high humidity or extra dew like you said and the moisture is sticking around longer than you like. Youre not a newbie but to any newbie that doesnt mean go spray at 9am you will have problems most likely, unless it is overcast. If you happen to get into trouble with this, it is always nice to have a blower around to blow them as dry as possible to speed up the process immensely.

I sprayed before sun up, at 5am. When I went out to pull my tarps, the leaves were visiably wet. And yes, my leaves do the solar panel thing and tracks the sun, so the angel was right on the leaves.

However, no damage, and the water cleared off by 9 or so. I do have a dewalt 40v blower just for days like this, forgot about that. Thanks for the input.

You can run the wire 300ft from the power source. I wouldn't split the wire at that distance, so buy the proper length wire. If you have a power source out by the camera, you can run the wire 800ft. However some of the wireless camera's are rated up to 450ft. Might be a better option. Check it out.

I personally wouldn't go with the trail cam, too many cool options on the camera's these days.

I feel ya, at my last property the gophers were chewing the wires...... That is why I ran them in conduit this time around, 1 1/2" so they can't get their mouth around the conduit also. Anything smaller and they chew.

4 days of rain and hail in a row. Warm weather on the way, but my plants look like mother nature dropped a deuce on them.

Thanks for the tips, shcrews, and Foothill.

I was hoping to avoid having to figure out how to power wireless cameras off of a car battery. Shouldn't be too hard though so maybe I'll look back into cameras.

the oil is left behind creating the magnifying glass effect.

FWIW, the "magnifying glass effect" is a complete myth IMO.

A magnifying glass works by focusing light to a point some distance behind the magnifying glass. If you place a magnifying glass on whatever you want to try and burn, it won't work. There needs to be at least some gap between magnifying glass and leaf surface to work. Try it...

What does happen is that water evaporates due to wind and sun light, which concentrates whatever salts are dissolved in the water, and the leaf suffers a chemical burn. So not a good idea to spray solutions in hot/windy weather.

Droplets of pure water in bright sunlight don't do any harm, though perhaps oil might, but it's nothing to do with highly focused light. There are plenty of times I've seen rain followed by strong mid-day sun, and if the "magnifying glass effect" was real there would be spotted vegetation everywhere, but I've never come across it!

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you had power at your DVR, but not out at the camera sight. If no power, the trail cam might be the best answer.

I really look forward to pulling my 88' Cherry dep in the morning. Smells so good, and the nugs are stacking!

I only spray oil's in the evening starting just before or during the twilight. I only spray oil's during veg. Neem is my top choice. I do believe in the magnifying effect. I've seen plants sprayed during daylight and they burn. Put some oil on your skin and go out in the sun. I'm sure you will get sunburn where the oil is. That's my opinion for what it's worth

No that's right. I have power at the bottom but not at the garden. I reread your post and realized you said you ran power all the way. BNC cable I assume.

So did you setup motion detection? How does it alert you?

Every once in a while I forget I have them set and trip one......When they go off I shake for 5 minutes. Really scares the crap out of you. Could only imagine if it's night time and you are trying to sneak around and BAM!!!! I would run.

I should mention, only use blanks.......(duh)

yeah you,d run after you emptied your pants , lol you wouldn't go back either which is the most important thing . even if you worked out must be trip wire system .

i hate this side of the game , it taints what its all about .

Sure does.

Hey guys, I want a 300 gallon to a 1000 gallon brewer. I could build my own, but I have so much going on I was thinking of just buying one. Called the guys at Vital Earth and they are selling a 300 and a 1000 gal, 3500$ and 4500$. Sounds steep. Anybody got a lead on a quality commercial brewer? I might go with Vital, as they have always provided quality materials to me in the past.

Any Vital guys reading this post, chime in on why your brewer is the best?

Microbeman?

Biodiversity?

I ended up throwing this Killer Queen in my last 800 gallon pot. I sprouted two packs, and this plant had extreme hybrid vigor compared to the rest. This plant was sprouted about a month later than most of the other plants in the greenhouse, so I will be keeping an eye on this one.

You guys can see my drip lines on this plant before the cover crop takes over. I prefer the 1/4'' lines on smart pots and beds shorter than 25'. I set my drip lines to water twice a day. Once in the early am, and once again during the heat of the day. It's crazy how much these plants can suck up in the heat of summer, no way hand watering is an option.

Looks great Foothill. Do you know offhand what intervals your emitters are at? 6-9-12"? What gph? I used to use a system like this but I think I couldn't run a long coil like that. Do you feed it with 2 separate 1/4" lines?
