Im shooting to have these girls out side by the 20th this month.

I want them to be a little bit larger but my main concern is the weather. It is still getting in the 40s at night. Once that picks up Ill be ready to go but I am hoping for the 20th. End of this month the latest though.

I also have a slight change of plans.

The couldnt shake the idea of having 10 plants in one area. To much risk so I am separating it into two plots.

Each having 5 plants.

The down side:

The second spot is not nearly as great as the first spot with soil I call black gold.

I have grown in it before and the plants were nowhere near the size they were compared to the black gold plot.

Notes: I didnt prep the soil at all aside from using marine cuisine. This round the holes have received all the amendments I listed earlier.

The up side:

If one plot is compromised I will have a second to harvest.

Less chance of being discovered over all

Plot two is 12 mins from home.
Plot one (black gold) 60 mins from home.

Thanks for looking everyone. Wishing the best for everyones 2012 run! Lets over grow~

Thanks for looking BOOBS! lol I really enjoy that name for some reason?

I really really like those small air pots, I wish I had more. I think I only have 5? I cant remember there exact size but its small like maybe a .7L or something? They are so cool because you can check the root development out so easily without harming the plant what so ever.

Ill take a photo for you...its pretty cool to see the explosive white root growth spidering out the bottom like a web.

Thanks for stopping by BOOBS! :blowbubbles:

On location. Plot one (black gold)

On location. Plot one (black gold)

Turkey, deer, cranes, rabbits, frogs, caterpillars, it’s all there, complete solidarity away from civilization.
Something about being away from everything is so inspiring, so gratifying and is a means to reset my routines of a daily life.

After a slow 4x4 creep, I find parking, its all on foot from here.

The natural layout of plot one. Its rested on marsh like land next to a body of water. Deep black moist soil, which if you dig low enough; hits water.

I dig roughly a 2.5’x2.5’x1’ size hole on the flattest ground I can find.

I amend the native black gold with some nice spice:

Kelp meal
crab meal
fish meal
Neem meal
Cottonseed meal
oyster shell
alflafa
azomite
diatomaceous
gypsum
rock phospates
green sand
N-P-K bat guano
dry molasses
lime

And a full bag of leaf compost for each hole.

IMG_0240.jpg

Its hard work logging 120lbs of compost deep into the woods. I doubt I even need it to be honest but I just like knowing I did it.

Native soil or black gold

Fresh leaf compost

And this is what happens when I dig to low..woops. Self watering soil.

Finished product. No plants yet, waiting just a tad bit longer for the weather while I veg them indoors. (1 of 5)

I found these perfect green triangle tomato cages. They form a small screen around the plant which will create a more full bush I hope! I have topped all my plants that are going to be outdoors. I hope they don't reach over 12ft tall like the none topped, screen plants in the past have.

I have a swampy spot just like that. I just finished preparing site 1 and my site 2 is next. Good luck with it.

Oh and I do not leave any sort of liter behind me. I pick up anything I find when I'm out there. It not only is the right thing to do, but helps me keep a monitor on things. If I hike out there and notice something along the way, then Ill know other humans have been near.

Hi Benny

Firstly, I think the place you want to grow is to low,it is to wet there.
Cannabis prefer to live rather dry soil, not wet environment.
Second thing, it is very hard to gain 10 pounds from 10 plants. 5 pounds from 10 plants is a good result.
And the last thing, don't you affraid adding amendments like crab meal and fish meal together with your seedlings? I have had few times situation, that critters dig out my babes looking for carcass...

Anyway, wish you good luck with your plans and grow! :tiphat:

Whats up man! I'm basing the 10lb figure of off previous plants at this location. I only grew two plants the last 2 seasons, averaging 1.89lbs between the both plants. That was with no training or advanced indoor veg time. They were over 12' tall with stalks thicker then a christmas tree :xmastree:

This year I have all new strains with real high yield figures. I hope I get 10lbs, that is my goal and judging from previous plants, I think that is a real conservative number.

Did you see my first photos? Those are plants at this spot, they were absolutely beautiful plants! About the amendments I use; thats why I prepare the soil almost a month in advance. First for everything to break down and become available and secondly, if animals want to dig, they can while the hole preps, no plants are placed in them off the get go. After a month animals stop messing with the holes and everything is more available for the plants.

Thanks for stopping in :)

And here is the photo I told you about. The roots in an airpot:

You can see the roots have only filled up about 50-60% of the soil, still a lot of room for growth in this little airpot

Cool thread you have going, you should be able to easily exceed 10 pounds if everything comes together properly :)

I've never used airpots for initial transplant. What results are you comparing to? Do you prefer this over a small smartpot of plastic pot? Do you have side by side pics? Thanks.

Thanks for that picture of the plant in the airpot.

After looking at the pictures of your previous outdoor work, I think you can hit 10 lbs no problem. A combination of the soil mix and the abundance of water those root systems will be like pigs in shit.

Great thread so far. Best of luck to you.

:tiphat:

thanks for showing me, looks nice. I only have the experience of growing in plastic pots and smart pots. How much does the soil separate away from the side when it dries out leading to water running down the outer rim? Seems to be a bigger problem in the plastic compared to smart pots from what I've seen.
