So I'm writing this to let the community know that in 2024 AC Infinity decided to change the catch trays in the bottom of their tents.
While they previously shipped with a floor tray made of the same material as the walls, the reflective mylar. For some reason they decided to change it to home box XL PVC white plastic floor liners.
I'll give you a little bit of background.
Spent 1000's constructing and building up a long room renovating an area of the house. I use self-stick tiles like an idiot and some other building materials like caulking is that were lousy with phthalates. After figuring out that the room was killing my plants I moved them all outside they turned around and became better so I started constructing a new long room and a downstairs ground level bedroom. This time around when I need to caulking I used AFM safecoat caulk and chem link clear, both polyester based zero VOC solvent-free no off-gassing phthalate free caulk. I eliminated all plastic timer strips that carried a proposition 65 warning which indicated they had phthalates, eliminate all plastic zip ties and switch to metal. The paint that I use in a room was green guard certified zero VOC Glidden super white interior.
The new lung room is completely free of anything questionable as far as off-gassing.... Except I'm having the same goddamn problem in this fresh room.
Well I look at the tray in the new AC Infinity tents it's white PVC vinyl. Remove the tray the symptoms are eliminated return the tray to the room symptoms persist.
So just be mindful if you buy a new AC Infinity tent, do not use that white catch tray. There's only one reason why they would have switched to that from the earlier mylar catch trays and that's to save costs. Well if you incorporate that catch tray into your grow the grow tents will not grow plants. Not very well.
So it starts leading me to think about other things like the plastic viewing window in there when they decided to cut these costs with the catch tray did they also cut costs on the plastic used for the viewing window? As I'm not about to play games after being into this for more than $7,000 between the two rooms, then windows are cut out.
I'm waiting on a call back from AC Infinity to see if they'll let me have some older catch trays or compensate me for the fact that I had to buy some Mars hydro and gorilla grow Tent catch trays that are made out of mylar.
Well I know AC Infinity has a pretty stellar reputation in the community my personal experience is with them as far as customer issues have been great (as This is The only real issue with about ac infinity i bought) customer service has called me back and is going to send older mylar catch trays for my 3 tents i didn't already order replacement floor's for. (Ordered a mars 2x4 floor liner already as it's the tent needing immediate use to hold My starts)
I sent some of the floor off for testing myself the sample has arrived at the facility but I am still on the fence of actually spending the coin to get it tested because through my experiments it's guaranteed those trays.
So any other AC Infinity can't users with the new white tray has this been your experience? Phantom grow issues you can't just put your finger on and figure out?
