Male selection:

I finnaly decided to cull all five of the C99 males and just keep branches with balls from the ones I like. I'm not pretending to be an expert I just follow a few simple rules when selecting them. Strength of smell being major factor. Also I like the swealing on the branch nodes which could mean stronger branch support for the outdoor. But hey ... who am I kidding ... Wally Duck did the job already. :D
I tossed the fastest male and the one with very pour odour. GF helped with sniffing them out. She has a much better nose :D
(Lasko, I kept 1, 2 and 5)

A little update. We had a really hot two weeks and it showed on plants, well on one plant to be precise. She lived at the forest site in the worse prepared hole. A sort of experiment to see where are the limits. :D

So to keep things in the same order first BlackJack x DeepChunk. Two plants doing very well. They're in the biggest hole. I can't stress enough how important hole preparation is. I have water cristals in all of them. Didn't water yet.

BJxDC 2 plants:

Then we have esmeraldas. I found Esmeralda #1 and #2 lying on the ground. Probably result of the storm we had yesterday. I picked up #1 and stake it a bit. She'll need a stronger support though. I hope she gets well.

Esmeralda #1:

Esmeralda #2 RIP

She was on the ground but clearly showed she was dying even before the storm. Majority of the leaves were dry and brown. Perhaps she was lying there for more then a day. Anyway .. picked up remainig small buds. It'll be for a puf or two :D

Esmeralda #3 at friends place is doing great. She has water and most important sun for the most part of the day.

The Church at guerilla site also started flowering.

That's all folks :D

Hey! Thanks guys! I hope I can pull this one off. Let's just pray to the weather gods for a nice, warm, dry Autumn.

Thanks Paddi. It's such a shame we lost sativa mother. This is a very nice cross made by lasko. Ok ... I know there's final smoking test to be done but I have a good feeling about her. Thinking of cutting a flowering branch and keeping her for next year just to be on the safe side :D

I'm scouting for nice spots for next season. I didn't visit the plants since there's no need to visit. Weather is almost perfect. While scouting I was attacked by forest bees or wasps. Healing my wounds. Will update asap. Thanks for visiting.

So we chopped one down. Esmeralda #3 was really at a nice spot with lots of sun. I choped because of bad weather forcast for this week. While scanning buds I found a few maggots in the smalish buds. At first I thought mold because of brown colour and got really scared but when inspected closer I found fecies and live maggots. Those little bastards sure like to get stoned. I wonder what layed the eggs.

Bud shots:

This is my first trimming and I sure understand now what all the fuss is about. It's basically hard work which I didn't mind really. I enjoyed it very much. In the end my hands were soooo sticky. Hahaha.

I haven't visited my forest sites and my WD C99s are fine. They're frosting up real nice. I'm noticing aroma for the first time. I cannot decide between a really mature melon and mango. Amazing tropical scents.

I've cut down most of the fan leaves. Should completely trim before it's dry?
