Cheers Meaty..
she is a lovely build..very responsive..smiles a lot..
but the grey is a bit off-putting..
(mold colour..slugs..gloomy skies)
but as the light goes down..
WOOF..
she turns into a Show Girl...
she Jumps out at you.

(Helps that I know the Grey belongs to the blackline..
which is the Evilest bud in there...:sasmokin::sasmokin::sasmokin:
And the mom was selected because she was a Grease-monkey)

(to the tune of the ugly duckling...altogether now..)

There once was an ugly AF..
who's buds were all muted and grey..
then down goes the light..she turns to Dynamite..
and mossy goes Wey Hey..:woohoo:

okay...
I must not smoke DC through the day..
I must not smoke DC through the day
I must not smoke....:noway:
cough..cough..

SmokeyTheBear..
there is time yet.
JEM is a hider..
Watch the very bottom of the calyx's..especially the inside..
if you see her start to Pink up there..she will colour.

Time for a little Love in the Afternoon..

2 stink bugs enjoying a little amore..
and making my pest control for next season..
I just put on a Barry White CD and left them to it..

I need to check with WAMEN..(he is my Afghan expert)..
but I am pretty confident in saying that this is 90% pure Afghan.
It is the f2 off the Crown Head DC/ALF with the accelerated budding.
NOT what I wanted..but I have to say..very beautiful anyway.

Hey hey sometimes the ones with the least bag appeal can blow ya away! I've learned that lesson from my grows.

Let's just hope it doesn't turn our hair gray!!! (But I'm sure it would be worth it :joint: )

Also cheers for the stink bugs! Those guys have been with ya for a few years now aye?

Have a nice finish to your weekend

SmokeyTheBear..yup..they don't all pink first..
it is just a strong colour indicator.
SteveFrench's girl was slow to colour and I though he was getting a baby pink..but last I looked she is purpling up nicely.

Meaty...
Let's just hope it doesn't turn our hair gray!!!
waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy to late m8..
I tell the kids it just the sun over here lightening it...
(that normally gets them laughing for an hour or two :pointlaug)
but hey..Silver Surfers are Cool..
or so I keep telling myself.

I've had the Stink bugs for about 4 years now..and they have been invaluable.
If they are there..even my long-season girls stay clean as whistles.
I get Lady bugs as well..
but they just come..have sex on me plants and b*gger off..
no such thing as Loyalty with a lady bug... :smoke:

I will have the Fairy Light off in about 10 day and test...:joint:
I will let you know.
I'm not expecting any big surprises..she is a way strong/stable pheno out the JEM line..
I just had to get the AF back into her and I think that has prompted the tric change.

The AF DC/ALF I had yesterday is Cracking
:sasmokin::sasmokin::sasmokin::sasmokin::sasmokin:
5 Star Rating
Smooth as smooth
AND
an UPPER..
which was Exactly what I was Playing for. :woohoo:

I had her pure yesterday..with no cross-smoking..
and I was nutty as a fruit-cake for half the day. :kos:
Soaring high.
She Did have a Bit of a come down..
(but I figure you have to get a great UP..to be able to feel yourself come back Down.)
I would say she makes you come back to earth with a bit of bump...
if you know what I mean.
She has such a soaring high..you "feel" yourself come back to normality when she wears off.
bit of tight feeling in your head..and your reality seems a bit starker/clearer than when you left it.

I put the Crown Head..accelerated budding non-af..one back into cure on pipelines advice.
She kicked from 2 days after cut-down..
but after 3 weeks in cure..
Too Strong..
HEAVY come down.:bashhead:
Reality come back with a Slap around the Face..
bad headache..
and that little gnawing feeling in your belly that says she could carry a touch of paranoia with her.

Sometimes I do get an over-active reaction on a New to Me bud..
and she had such a great high..I made a bit of a pig of myself..
(4...one after the other..chain-smoking..)
but...
I'll give her another chance when she has had a bit time to mellow out.

I Love the high..but I didn't like the come down at all. :nono:

Does that make me a pussy...? :kitty:

The White Russian that I am "testing".
This is the f9 generation.
She is now changing her name to White Wizard.

picture.php

My m8 kenz made her 100% AF hybrid.

We were both rolling our girls at the same time
and
@ F4 I got just over 25g's dry off the JEM..
and he got just over 26g's dry off his White Russian..

I was spitting blood and feathers..spit..spit..spit
he beat me by less than a gramme...he was Cracked up.

When I grew it out on the patio off season she gave me a mold problem.
I had her in Extreme conditions..
Outdoor in Feb..getting pollenated.
The AK-47 did the same..
but the JEM never flackered..so I classed the other 2 as slightly soft.

With this in mind I picked a pheno out of her that I had worked on in the JEM's.
It is the most naturally ventilated pheno that I have seen in the AF selections..
better air circulation = more mold resistance.
She starts off very scrawny and long limbed..but I had seen it before and I know that once she gets her buds in she absolutely Woofs..

The ones in the black pot were transplanted 48 hours ago..
this is the clay..

picture.php

They were put in the compo on 24/7..couple of days to germ..so they are about 20 days and they have totally filled the pot..

picture.php

so here they are in the recovery room..little shade and a little shelter between the tent and the wall while they recover from transplant..
water only for 24-48 hours

Cheers La Buena Hierba..
the f8 mom was 20 ins high..
and the tallest of these are 15ins already..
so I am going in the right direction...

Expertsetup..icebergs.
My THEORY..
after working with them so long is..the flowering is triggered by root pooling.
Once they reach the bottom of the pot..they pool..then they flower.

If they are in a small pot..they colonise the pot and pool quicker..
they stop veg and go to flower.

That is why I say start them in the biggest pot you can..
max veg time...max yield.
it is also why I think they do better in hydro...
they cannot colonise the tank as fast as they can a pot...simple volume.

I am seriously thinking of getting a hydro tank for next season..see if I can prove the theory.
I just need to learn How to hydro first...:chin:

mossy seems we have a lot of the same theory's concerning autos... a good friend of mine described to me a while a go that some plants will do exactly what you have explained... once they fully colonize the pot it triggers the flower chem as a safety mechanism

im still waiting for my seed run to finish.. once i have a few hundred seeds i can start experimenting with all the diff theory's i have :D common how much fun is it finding out what works and what doesn't :D

I think your theory is corect i have seen auto flowers(iceryders) gowing too 1 meter 20 high.
(sorry dont know what cm is in ins high is?:1help:) and give more flower
the where plantent/seeded direct in a cement tank , 50 liters
aarde.jpg

i see now in my autoflowering seeds grow the difrends the ( sage n sour x auto haze) X (auto haze x dysel ryder ) were planted ath the same time the ones in the smallerpot are now showing sex (the males) the outher one,s in the bigger pot still no showing sex?

verry sorry for my bad english

Guys I'm not totally agree with your theory because I've been growing f2, f3... of Low Ryder 2 in guerrilla in quite big pots prepared with good quality soils with humus of different animals (worms, hens...) and we have seen that the plants grow and bloom more but not too much more. Probably It will be related with the idecrease of vigor that has the fact of making f2, f3... (crossing the fathers generation by generation).
So I think that It's an important factor that influences in the plant but on the other hand there are some characteristics that will say a lot in this like the genotype and the hours of light.
However, this is what I can say since my point of view and my experience.

i agree there are more influences yust like hours of light en much more .
what i mean with that theory that you can stall flowering with a week ore more if its not triggered by root pooling so you can max your yield.
max veg time...max yield

i dont know how it go with lowryder never grow them

verry sorry for my bad english

shroomyshroom..

Yeah..every gain is a triumph.
It brings out the pioneering spirit.

once they fully colonize the pot it triggers the flower chem as a safety mechanism

I have just noticed it time and time again..I have to investigate.
If you cannot Prove something Disprove it.
I'll study hydro in the off season...wait a minute..:chin:
I don't get an off season..:muahaha:

I figure the 68 liters capacity will do the trick for some good sized plants.
Way to go Expertsetup..:woohoo:
That will be interesting.

La Buena Hierba...was that the iceryders that you posted in MD's thread..?
It looks brilliant.
verry sorry for my bad english

It is good enough for me m8.

and give more flower
the where plantent/seeded direct in a cement tank , 50 liters

It is a 50ltr bin that I am looking to convert to hydro..fingers crossed.

CARCHOFA..
However, this is what I can say since my point of view and my experience.
ALL points of view Appreciated.
It is only a theory..and I don't mind being proved wrong.
The more we learn..the better we grow.
Last time I suggested it..it was rejected out of hand..:pointlaug
Next season..we will try to prove it.

If it is not the hydro..
I will just have to tell my m8 Micro that he is a better grower than me..
because he outgrows me all the time with the same genetics in hydro..

Pray it is the hydro..if I have to admit he is the best grower..
he will never let me forget it..:D

root size compared to the plant is one thing, but with the unrestricted roots with unlimited supplies of oxygen they grow so much bigger, leaving you with more roots to drink water with nutrients in em, root growth does limit the size of some/most plants, people who flower sativas grow in way smaller pots then their indicas because it limits stretch, a chemical is most likely released saying hey man we are trapped dont grow much bigger! and the flower onset will be faster, look at what dr bud does with his 16oz sized pots, it limits the stretch for a great sog, and some mothers/ fathers from certain genetics will autoflower under 24/7 if they are badly rootbound, especially males, probably just another way marijuana shows its great robustness and ability to survive, some sativas wont even finish if they arent rootbound and start recieving less and less food, just because they are grown under a 12/12 light regime almost naturally, they only finish when they run out of root room, or they think they are running out of food and will die if they dont mature

oh btw mossy im in a real jam here atm  i germed 14 diesel ryder ibls from a breeder friend over at another site, thinking oh yeah these supposedly have real hard shells, nope all 14 pop in under 24 hours so i think sweet ima have to grow them in slightly smaller pots but ill still get more with more plants in less soil, so i make a shopping list, bag of lime, 3.8 cub ft bale of peat, big bag of perlite, 14 2 liters of mtndew/sierramist/ green bottled liquid, i get home and realize, i got to drink all this pop! ive already gotten 5 down in two days, the diesel ryders are pissed because they are like 4 inchs long in paper towels, budlys dieing of poisoning, and hes calling everyone up he can asking if they want to chug a free 2 liter of soda, got a couple people droppin by after they get off to come help a guy out...

You can buy containers, at the garden center ya know! They aren't that expensive! :)

Faster growth rates can be achieved in some situations using hydoponics..... I'd learn the ropes well before jumping in with both feet, mossy... Wouldn't want ya to go through a dry spell. :) I like soil growing because of its simplicity... I can always plant another seed... :) However it is fun to watch these gals grow... In the ground, in fertile well draining soil, they probably grow at a similar rate to hydroponic plants if not faster... :)

I would say root pooling could possibly lead the plant to shift to bloom more quickly once the dark period AND maturation time period constraints are met... The faster shift to flower would be at the expense of overall harvest weight becuase restricting root growth/health and rootspace will likely lead to a restriction of shoot growth and overall plant size... I like GA's wooden crate flowering bed, his plant is very happy! :)

pipeline im kind of short on floor space, especially with getting atleast 4 extra plants/seeds i didnt expect to get or pop! so im down to narrow two liters, couple friends came by to help out a budly who had some pop he needed to get rid of, 7 down, 7 to go...
