I was by no means trying to hijack any thread. I was just chiming in to give my opinion about the Aeroflo. I apologize guys I didn't want to get off on the wrong foot here

I didn't realize at first that your system was a kit; I saw the pyramidal end-caps and instantly saw vinyl porch-posts, lol... a REALLY good NFT construction item, btw!

I envision a quarantine to be a corner of a less-used bathroom that's a smallish area with just adequate flourescent light to maintain the plants for a week's residence while they are pyr-bombed aggressively at 3-day intervals.

Just another odd factoid... I had a SEVERE thrip problem a while back, which I ended up treating with a combo of pyr and avid. The thrips got gone fast... and then when the Avid wore off, I got MITES for the first time EVER. I mentioned this to our resident guru and he said it's common; that thrips will in fact predate on mites to some extent- I'll have to ask again- I'm not sure what life stage they eat, perhaps the eggs?

Anyway I'll certainly catch up with ya in a bit.

i used safer soap, then today i got Monterey Garden Spray with SPINOSAD - a virus that kills thrips only .... those bug bombs are sketchy - got pets/kids around here.

look up spinosad - u will never use a bug bomb again for thrips once you read about it ....

i usually lollipop the plants on the NFT ... take some clones .... etc ... try to have 3-4 main buds per plant ... u gotta take all the crap off under the canopy or u get LARFY BUDS ... im looking for the BIG NUGZ hahaha

cant wait until i got a multiple pounds of SUPER SNOW DAWG / old skool black domina in around 60 days!

picked up the spinosad today along with : stuff to finish DIY cloner , 6inch hurricane 630 CFM inline fan, Bluetorch truncheon PH meter, and the 1000gph pump that wont fit in the new 30 site aero system.

ps: anyone try to convert a nahydroponics.com hybrid drip/NFT into AERO ? i cant fit my 1000GPH pump in this god damn thing - the 500 GPH is too weak to get an aero spray ... thanks!

instead of saying that the GH aeroflos suck ... i should have said they are a rip off ! you can build something bigger and better for less than 200$ ! ... for the person who paid 170 for the unit, you got a deal. i would have bought it too for that much. like someone else said , using a short flowering indica will work great with the aeroflo. just dont try any pure sativas! you can use any lite over the aeroflo, a 400, 600, or 1000 will work fine, just keep the higher wattage bulbs a little higher above the table than the lesser ones. im gonna be converting my NFT into a aero table after this harv ... gonna be posting a DIY aero table plan soon too.

Big Dawg or Big Dawg Haze

the NAhydroponics.com table in the other small cube room is gonna be BiG DAWG which is (bubblechem x mass super skunk x Oregon snow) x the old skool v Super Silver Haze (from greenhouse brought back YEARS ago when shanti was still there , in fact i think it was brought back the year the introduced super silver haze) x Big Bud (i think the Amsterdam version, added in to put a little weight on and shorten flowering time) equals the Big Dawg.

The Big Dawg is sick. It primarily has the dominant taste of Super Silver Haze, with a little chem mixed in. The buds get a little bigger than the Super Silver Haze and the flowering time is a short 59 days for a such a ill elite strain. The main difference between the Big Dawg or Big Dawg Haze (the name is still being debated among the people who developed it) and the Super Silver Haze is the high. The original Super Silver Haze was a great daytime smoke, a uplifting cerebral high, mostly sativa buzz. The Chem/Snow/Skunk indica mix in the Big Dawg really shines through effectively and devastatingly while maintaining some of the sativas spectrum of the high - while you do get ****ed up, you dont get couch locked and the high is a little clearer than most things with The Chem mixed into it.

i will get some dried bud pix up soon ... clones and pix of them up soon too.

you want a SOG strain

you want a SOG strain

to the aeroflo dude

for the aeroflo, you want a S.O.G strain, meaning Sea Of Green. Your right that you want an indica strain, but super snowdawg has sativa in it too, it really gets way too big for an aeroflo, because of the mass super skunk in it - it also isnt a plant for beginners , you want something more along the lines of a 55 day or less flowering strain. NL5 or NL is an excellent choice for a beginner. Big Bud, Skunk #1, AFGHANI #1, Anything that flowers in less than 55 days should work fine in the aeroflo.

Just so ya know- spinosad isn't a virus- it's two fungal metabolites ( spinosyn A and spinosyn D) extracted after a fermentation process.
The two are used together as "spinosad" because they are more effective together than used alone.
Will kill more than just thrips- but sure does kill thrips. Beware phytotoxicity at higher doses.

You may have to go to an inline pump- I think that the magdrive out of an EZ 60 would slide right in one of the side tubes ( not the one in the middle with all of the plumbing).
If not, run from the drain port to the intake end of an in-line mag, and from the output of the mag to the hookup for the original pump. It would be helpful not to disconnect the original pump until you are ready to attach the inline, as you can use it to prime the inline. If you're going to cycle the feeding (5 on/15 off or whatever, I would put a check valve between the drain port and the inline's intake, so you don't have to worry about losing prime.)

yup building my new setup using 8 ft plastic fence posts. 12.48 each so i got 4 of them. the depot does not carry them but lowes does. Very inspired here guys- thank you. But im working on a combo system or 2 in 1 if you will..i hope to incorporate a half NFT and aero system in 1 system. Seen it done and is amazing growth. Basically 2 kinds of pumps in my rez that will switch in intervals when feeding. one flood, then mist an hour later, then flood again. Each post will have a 3/4 line running the length with emitters under each site.

Great job so far with snowdawg, that my favorite tasting of the chem lines. Glad to see she takes well to hydro. peace

hey man, id say stop readig high times. you made it to a good website. when i first grew last year id wait for the new high times cuz it would occasionally have an interesting grow article, but then i came on here and learned 400x more than I ever did from high times. I also learned high times is just a big marketing ploy.

and I learned that GHS seeds arent the best way too go... i dont want to get into a big GHS debate here... i just know personally that recent purchases from GHS didnt give me anything good out of white widow supposedly feminized. just mutants. i wasted this summer trying to grow out bcbud seeds and 2 packs of GHS white. id say dont go with new stock GHS, but read around here for good indicas for sog.

ID say get like 3 packs from mandala or somethin. Speed Queen would work good for SOG, white satin, hashberry would too i assume. AK can be pretty sativa dom, so i can see why itd be a problem in sog. read around here for strains that sound good! LOTS of indica strains are great for SOG, now u just have to decide what kinda high u wanT!
