Some people here need to go back to school and learn how to read. By no means was I trying to justify, excuse or reduce the actions against the victim. Rape is one of the most horrible actions anyone can suffer and leaves a life of scaring and wounds that never fully heal.

What I was trying to address is the fact that there are folks in every religion and every society that given the chance, would enact/produce living conditions for women that would differ little from Saudi. At the same time there are a lot of uneducated fools on the right in the US that think that is the norm for everyone in Saudi. I know for a fact that it is not.

The fact is, that left to their own means the "so called" cristian right in this country would enact what they have been striving for - A theocracy! I can assure you that womens rights would go out the door and colors that don't match their idea of correct would be tossed in to the 1700's again. Look at the British Empire, the beliefs of the Mormons in regards to dark skin folks - heck just look at BYU's football rosters of the past and present! It is fine and correct to condem the lashings and those that support those actions. Just look in the mirror and remember the golden rule please. Part of the biggest problems is folks grouping up or putting everyone in one basket. If not for our (failing/hi-jacked) democracy women and non-whites/non-christians would be living a different life these days under rule similar to Hitler's.

1)They threat everyone there as SH*T. Just ask the Philipinos, Pakistanies, Indians. They only care about the Saudis (they do shit by the way and are **** lots of incompetent) and foreigners (europeans and americans) since they are the ones actually do their jobs there.
2) Woman has no freedom AT ALL. Can't drive, Can't vote, Can't eat without their burka (called dieffrent but it does the same job).
3) They are not TOLERANT people as they don't all you to pray in a church (as there is none of course) or do anything we are used to in the Western world.
4) IF they hope for us to tolerate tehm they should start by giving women the same rights as men. Even foreign woman can not go to the street without the burka (except these one doesn't cover their heads).
