2 guerrillas, one question at hand:

Have to say how close is this friendship? Ive seen many "friendships" end in getting ripped off. Now if that happens r u not gonna point the finger At your "buddy"? What next? Hes oiinting his finger at u like u stole it. Bad situation. If he aint your true bud, dont do it.

Do it alone. U get ripped its your fault only... and no one wants to kill u either...

Well it's all good while it's going good, but I gotta ask the question, in the worst case scenario, how ya going to split the punishment if you get busted... The cops and the law doesn't care about 70/30 involvement or any of that.." they will lump you both with 100% each.

You don't wanna find out your mates a rat at the worst time when the heat is on and the cops intimidating you both.

That is why it's better to be alone to start with.

Hey Microbe when you list out the details it just reaffirms my prior assessment, without you there's no grow. Without him there's no thread

I think there is no point to split haul in eny other ways than 50/50, but then u have work together all time long without excuses like he afraid to go in the woods or sth-its funny u can tell him that. Other scenatios is harmfull for both sites, and make no sens. Its misstep, and it can cost u both a lot !! More than 50% of anything.

i'm still not seeing where he would be bringing 50% to the table... i have been down this road a couple times, and really at the end of the day it's best to be solo.

now, if your entire op would be bust because you need dude to have a place to trim/dry then it makes more sense to have a partner.

Thank you all for your wisdom, we decided to cut the cord for the summer and bail on the plans. I will still be doing my plots... if anything I may pay him to drive me a few times but that's about it. I wanted to do this to make our friendship stronger if anything, but now that you guys put it in retrospect I think you're right. It's too messy.

You have opened a can of worms - a generous offer made and retracted, the details we really don't know. Human nature is predictably volatile when it comes to 'desireables'.

Your friend is now have a potential ripper and the only way to mitigate is to manage. Pay him to drive you a few times, and that's it?

Careful ...

I agree with that for the most part; the only thing I would be weary of is his friend dropping off stuff at the drop off point (im assuming the drop off point is relatively close to the plot or in a general area). Team Microbe has already stated that his friend has got bush knowledge and so on. I feel like he may want to completely eliminate his friend from the equation entirely. Unless he drops him off so far away that it would be near impossible to find the plots. If a person has a general idea of where something could be, bush knowledge, and some animosity of being cut out of potential profits that could give his friend enough drive to rip the whole grow down at some point. I've heard all sorts of stories from people that got ripped off for very minute reasons. Animosity can drive people to do crazy things even to friends. That's just my opinion

Just gotta agree with the last two posts... it's bad news that this guy knows what you are up to now. Not saying that means that it's an inevitable disaster... just that, you really should not let him drive you out to the plot. I'm sorry, but it's just bad news, now that he knows what you are into, and *might* possibly be harboring some kind of resentment, whether justified or not.

Keep the friendship, dude. Ditch the ride offer.

I think staying solo but enlisting his help is a fine solution. I'm sure you'll send some herb his way for the help he will offer. My experience is a bit different from most who've commented so far though.

I smiled when you outlined duties for Head #1 and Head #2. For over 15 years, I grew with an old friend - hence the name "two heads". It worked great for us. Everything was split 50/50, and I mean each plant, not just the total weight. That way we each got half of every plant - winners and fair-to-middling alike.

We played to our strengths. We're both getting older but I'm more active so I took on more bush/swamp work while he handled most of the trimming. Both are arduous and risky in their own way. I could always count on him in the bush if needed and I helped out trimming too. The right partner means: someone to talk to, a driver for Pro-Mix bale drop-offs in the middle of the night with no suspicious parked cars (same for harvests), someone to run interference or lookout. All important, all make you safer and all not happening if you're solo.

I carry on, though I miss the "other head". He moved out west last year.

Great points made brother, glad you stopped in for the thread. You came to to mind when devising this plan to be honest... I met up with my old buddy from school and we hit it off just like old times. He's a good dude, not selfish or anything and is more than up for helping people out that don't offer anything in return. A classy guy pretty much.

I feel like growers on here hesitate with saying "go for it" because they're growers and he's not... so of course there's reason to doubt.

A brief summary... and not to get too personal but I feel like he wouldn't betray me. He seems one to be more about making friends than losing them, I can tell since he's adopted he has some detachment-issues but that's understandable of course. I can't see him teaming up just to fuck me over, if anything I can see him doing it to re-gain a lost friend. I'm thinking about using his truck for promix hauls, and for a lookout during payloads. His truck is loud as hell though... I'll have to have him do drive-by's or something instead of posting up. We'll figure it out.

I felt bad about tossing out the offer then taking it back, and I expressed that to him tonight. I didn't want any hard feelings, I just wanted to do what was best. Everyone made me hesitant to start up a little partnership but I can honestly see it benefiting both of us if done carefully, so I'll take your advice TwoHeads and tread with caution. He won't know where sites are, just the area they're in pretty much. He honestly seems too afraid to do anything illegal, I know for a fact he wouldn't know what to do with 20 plants if he even did want to rip them. I'm only fearing him telling someone else and having them rip... that's the only thing that could go wrong really. He already knows of my indoor grow, and where I live.. he's one of the very few that do. I feel like he already is a "risk" so why not just take him under wing ya know? He's very intrigued by the entire process, and clearly doesn't know the potential of a team like us (grower + outdoorsman).

He knows I'll take care of him... I'm usually TOO generous come harvest time my sister gets mad at me!
