I really think she's probably extremely scared of you leaving her for someone else and having to spend a portion of her short time left alone and in misery because you left her. She thinks that if she lets you cheat then you'll stay with her even if you want to be with someone else.

Its a terrible stereotype but women frequently say things they do not mean, not that men dont but it's true. Its one situation if she were quadraplegic and physically incapable but still going to live a long life. Its another situation where she's physically capable of having. In that situation I wouldn't hesitate to let my wife sleep with someone else and shed probably do the same for me. When my mother in law was dying of liver disease shed pick out dirty magazines for my father in law. Its terribly sad to think about.

So the bottom line is if you want to be with someone else instead of her but still care about her go ahead and start something with this other girl and just do your best to keep her happy in her final days. But if you wouldn't like to see her with someone else and you'd like to be with her than don't mess with the other girl and be true to her.

It is most men's fantasy to have more than one woman. Hell it was mine too, I got lucky and have two wives. But that's a special situation. Nobody's ill or leaving or anything. My wive's happen to be bi and it took years for this situation to work out into what it is now. Note, I said years, not some got too drunk at a party and got lucky sort of thing.

But those situations are NOT common, as in most cases, it's usually a temporary thing that always leaves someone deeply hurt. Don't go looking for it, it's just something that happens if it's meant to happen. Even though my situation is ideal and has lasted for years, it's something best left to fantasy only.

Now, I don't want to hijack your thread. I just wanted to mention, those situations do exist in EXTREME RARE cases. But usually no and never in a situation like that, she's just being noble and offering you a way out if you want it. If you love her, don't take it. Stay with her to the very end - this is a time she needs your love the most.
