2,000 wt/soil/2 weeks until harvest

I run my lights with out hoods and hang them straight down. Parabolic shades are great however when you are under them all day playing with the plants, watering, rotating and thinking of turning green they do get in the way and I, for one, think it is a bit easier to rotate them with out crawling under the hoods.

HID lights lose up to 80% of electric in heat which is needed to ignite the gases as I understand it. Although hoods can keep a room cool, I myself, would insulate them and cool the room with an ac.

Could I ask how many days the lovely ladies have been flowering for please.

wow, never really heard of anyone strictly not using hoods, but i can see why. i personally like them because it keeps the lumens pointed downwards. the reason i didnt use the MH hood that came with it is because it was a small dome that emitted heat like a FUKER. anything within a foot would get torched so that hood was gone in a hurry.

my girls have been flowering for around 42 days (6 weeks) althought the first 14 days was no good, i had alot of light leaks i hadnt resolved but they have had a good 4 weeks of flowering by now. still got a good 2-4 weeks left i think.

how long until u harvest? :rasta:

Looking tastie mate. Do you flush the lime out of the rockwool cubes before using them for clones?

i use a rock wool conditioning solution that i mix 3 ounces to the gallon with and all i simply do is soak them in the solution once.

The depth of 'hood" should be taken into consideration in terms of plant size and development to better utilize the available light.A deeper hood tends to concentrate the light straight downward which is perfect for vegging plants sitting rather close together. In flower when the plants are more spread out normally a shallow hood like a parabolic vertizontal is preferable.AG you want to check sq footage of grow area and have 50W sq ft for flowering,30-50 for vegging.Your shit looks great.I also let the plants go dry before hydrating but not quite that dry.The problem is when hydrated you normally lose some viable fans after they've dehydrated too long,I like to hit them just before they start to sag. When they are dehydrated like that you don't want to use ferts or you'll just lose more foliage, plain water for dehydrated plants only.On the feed cycle you shouldn't let them get quite that dehydrated

thanks for the feedback "The American"

i know you need at least 50 w sq ft to achieve optimal results, but i am sure i am getting much better then that. i got 4 plants under 1,000w and 5 plants under 1,000w.

can you explain what u mean by "When they are dehydrated like that you don't want to use ferts or you'll just lose more foliage, plain water for dehydrated plants only"

honestly i let my plants droop everytime i water them, last time i went a day or 2 overboard but i dont do that too often. and this grow i havent even switched to fresh water between feedings, i just feed everytime i water because i wait until my pots are dry. also when i water i use alot of water and i dont re use the water that comes out of the bottom. i give my 5 gal buckets 5 gallons of water each mixed with my ferts and sugar/molasses each time for flowering.

anyways i dont see any problems, i got great healthy green foliage and stinky fat buds. i will take a picture of them now to show how they look since they have perked up.

its amazing what a dry plant does after u feed her.

be back with a pic.

EDIT: lights come on in 2 hours

here's what i was doin last night

I harvested some of my plants today. Just got done trimming about 60 or so colas. Cant wait to see the NL2 Lethal Purple cross. I got tons of seeds from them. I crossed the Lethal Purple male with some sativas as well.

AG I noticed from the start that feeding a plant in a dehydrated or weakened condition normally resulted in more leaf loss and occasional burning,it's kind of like putting an ice cube directly on a severe burn.If I'm on a feeding day and my plants are dehydrated I simply give them some water and wait an hour. Then I soak the medium thoroughly until runoff with nute mixture.

sounds like a great plan!

I got a lumatek 600 watt purple digi, hydrofarm hood, and hortilux bulb....im really stoked. The digi puts out sum interference in my house....does yours at all?

btw...how did the growbags work?....I was gonna run 3 gallon ones under the 600, but not sure yet?

I would definitely get a good power filter... Monster Cable makes them, but you would have to check the amps, etc. I run my main theater equipment off it. Try running the ballast through a heavy duty (< $80) unit, then if that don't work, run your household equip through one.

Peace
interference sucks, though

this one should handle your light... my plasma draws almost 600 watts of power, soooooooo

just got done looking through a microscope at a sugar leaf and i see amber trichs so i'm pretty sure i can start flushing now right? still got a few days until the next watering. could use a bit of advice :chin:

thanks for the comments!

They are mostly dry and smokable. There is some moisture inside some of the larger cola stems still. They are now slow drying in a refrigerator. The smoke is quite pleasant. They are not cured though I do not taste any harshness from them.

sounds delicious! bud dries real fast here in alaska, with a constant humidity under 20% :muahaha: (normally) first i hang mine until they feel good and dry ( not bone dry, just slightly crispy on the outside), then i keep them inside a paper grocery bag, until i can store them in a jar. enjoy your smoke!!! :rasta:

btw i start my flush tonight.... 14 days here we come!!! :headbanger: (now finally as the title says, lol)

i also was able to look at my trichomes through a microscope yesterday, and i see some amber glands so in 2 weeks we should have all we need :jump:

Are you flushing them out with three times the water that the soil holds or just watering them with straight water?

AlaskaGrows

i flush my 5 gallon pots with 5 gallons of water and molasses, but twice as often as i normally water.

kinda hard to do 15 gallons per pot, as i haul each 5 gal of water by hand (natural spring water) and if i were to use the x3 method i would have to haul almost 150 gallons of water !!!! thats alot.

I see that makes sense. Thanks for the tip with the molasses flush I will have to give that a shot. I did a test once with sugar and with molasses. Sugar will not raise the tds of your nutrient solution though Molasses really cranks it up. I am guessing it is very high in N.

AlaskaGrows

um i doubt molasses would contain alot of N, as they say to give molasses throughout the whole flowering period. and it DOES create HUGE difference. i think it gives the buds some of the essential sugars to make the fat dense nugs, i used cane sugar in place of molasses this crop and i can tell a huge difference, i REALLY REALLY need to go get some molasses....

btw i started flush last night.

Molasses gives the carbohydrates to the microbs in the soil which as they decay create amino acids which fuel the plants growth and produce things such as terpinoids which give the plant smell and flavor. Terpinoids are essentially fats and oils of the plants.

makes sense now..... i will be watering in 2 days because i really really need to add molasses.

btw when i flushed the water looked like i had fertilized ( the run-off) so i know the plants are loving it now.

EDIT: i forgot, 4 of the purple clones rooted, so 5/6 are and the last one is a clone with alot of pistils on it so it has been foliar growing, not root growing.
and, my first TFB popped out of the ground.
