I got the 8XL and my new Homebox setup, was wondering if you guys were experiencing any slow dripping from the angled PVC on the corners where they meet the Uniseal? All the straight ones are gravy but i'm having a very slow drip on the corners, one on the right side of the epicenter module and 1 on the far corner elbow piece on the far left side module on the end. I'm going to drain and see if I can wiggle them around and hopefully it will solve the problem and day 1 of 12/12 should be Tuesday! Also, do you run your air pump up high for a reason? Thanks in advance.

Whats up guys nice to have everybody.

Green thumb thanks man.

Hydrosun thanks for the tip. They seem a little light green I just didnt want to over do it right off the bat. Im going to adjust tomorrow after work.

Turbo I have NO leaks what so ever if theres a leaks you should drain and try to figure it out. I also keep the air pump up high because if you turn it off the water will go right into the pump if its below the water line.

Looking good Big G.

Try to raise your ppm by about 10% each time you want to raise it. For instance if you're at 400 take it to 440....observe for a few days and continue that pattern till you see what you're looking for.

Remember, once you over do it w/ppm's they will react by slowing their growth....which I'm sure is not what you're looking for.....nurture the plants when they are small and you can act more aggressively once they've got 8 or 12 leaf sets.

Turbo....you should call CC, that shit shouldn't be leaking. I bet they take care of it for you.

Well I have brought the ppms up to 540 on Friday. They have responded very well they have greened up hugely and are growing like mad. I forgot the cam so no pics for a couple days. I also threw 16 pk cuts in a 2x2 tray ebb & flo with a 8 bulb 2 ft t5 to for veg. Im going to bring the ppms up more on Tuesday.

Mine are at 840 in veg now (looking for a tung sticking out at you slimly ;) )

:underwater: I can hold my breath and use my tung at the same time, does that count?

Peace, :joint:

Yo...BG.

If your plants are responding well to the ppm @ 540 just keep rolling with that til they are asking for more. Remember that the first thing on a plants needs list is water.

Level's of dissolved salts being higher than needed invariably slows water uptake by interrupting the osmotic cycle...which in turn slows plant growth.

You can put the ppm peddle to the metal in bloom when your plants turn into mineral whores. For the time being you should likely be increasing ppm by about 10-20% per week as long as the plants keep responding well.

Also remember that as the plants roots grow down into the solution you can safely start reducing the depth of solution in your system to encourage more atmospheric oxygen uptake, which should keep your plants happy and healthy.

Yo Ucmegrow
This aint my first run ever its my first run with this pk cut. The only reason for me pumping up the nutes so high is because HS said so and he is the master of this pk cut I will use all his advise wisely. If I were running my special strain in there I would barely be at 500 ppm.
Thanks for all the input and enjoy the show Im going to let these babies get around 3 ft befor I flip the lights.
There will be an update tomorrow night stay tuned

Update: 13 days in the Under current
I had to do an add back today on the uc and I brought the ppms to 650 and ph 5.9.
I also dumped the nutes in the tray and replaced the nutes ppm 500 ph 5.7.
Everything is growing great and I topped every plant on Sunday. I also started to lst a couple of the bigger plants today.
I also added a few handicap buckets to the room along with a 2x2 ebb & flo tray with 16 pk cuts Im going to lollipop under a 400 hps.

Heres some pics

A few more

A little root porn

The ebb tray looks like Im going to have to move em around a little more evenly spaced.

Ya have to keep in mind that 3 of the plants in the uc were put in 4 days after the rest so they have a little catching up to do. With my lsting they all should be the same height at the flip.

Looking good for 13 Days Big G! I'm in the 3rd day of flower myself and my girls are taking the transfer from the ebb and flow tray to the UC system quite well. What do you keep your PPMs around? My AK's are 6 weeks old and have great root structure. I am sitting around 500 ppm, what kinda ppm is average for this system for yours?

Whats up turbo
Mine are at 650 now and I plan to bump em up a bit more in a couple days but thats only because she is a nute whore. I havent finished a flower phase yet in the uc had to kill all my plants do to security. With my rdwc system I would probably be around 700-800 ppm depending on strain and oh ya my meter is a conversion .5.
Pop up some pics lets see and good luck

hey BG everything looks great ..just because no one is posting dont mean nothin..plenty of views,,i subscribed
Yeah, what he said.

I'm currently in Waterfarms because I got a bunch of them for free in a trade. So I would feel completely ignorant commenting on any of this, yet it is fascinating to watch -- especially since the WF's are half-drip, half-DWC.

FWIW, I met the UC guys two years ago at the hydro expo in SF; they seemed incredibly knowledgeable -- probably the most cannabis-savvy cats at the expo -- and almost sold me on a system. But back then I was comfortably numb with my 4x4 F&D tables and stupidly splurged on an LED instead.

I'm leaning towards RDWC for my next batch -- I have a shipload of black 5-gal. buckets and lids -- but first I have to see how these Waterfarms work out. So far they seem to yield okay but require a ton of Hydroton.

BTW, I also lurked on some of Hydrosun's DWC grow, and for the record, I think he gave up too soon on the UC...he had some issues with the medium he used instead of Hydroton...then he sort of abandoned ship and nowadays apparently just uses the UC to veg.

But Hydro, if you're out there: I have never seen anyone anywhere kill the PK like you. I love the strain and messed with it for a year, but never got even 1/2 the yield I did from other "elite" strains. You have single-handedly convinced me to give it a second chance, either with Waterfarms or RDWC.

And now we return to our regularly scheduled programming...

Sounds good brotha, it really is amazing to see the root expansion on these plants when they hit the UC. My Veg rig is the 8 Plant micro-garden. The new UC lids have 5.5" holes instead of the larger 8" holes and work perfect for a pot-in-pot setup. 5.5" Net cup is suspended in 5" square taller pots. After 5 weeks of vegs, the roots were starting to get root-bound and begging for the UC's. They are now in heaven:blowbubbles:

Thanks for the ppm info, i'll throw some pics up ASAP.
