18' x 22' space what would you do?

My friend is planning on using 600's 12-18 of them. He is also going to use 4x8 trays and do an ebb and flow. I'm trying to help him decide on how to position the tables. How many tables he can fit...? I'm also trying to help him figure out how many amps he will need. He wants to copy my set up but make it bigger. I've never used air cooled lights but I only run 6 600's should he air cool? Room will be ventilated probably 2 10" can fans. Advice and ideas are all welcome!

more details please he's looking to keep numbers down under 90 about 15-18 per 4 x 8

we need info on how many amps the rooms needs.

we need a lay out for how to organize the tables.

You probably should know a bit of this info before asking for advise. Thats a lot of lights and a lot of power, even if they are 600w bulbs its going to be 126 amps for [email protected] per light on a 12 light system.

no offense but this isn't my first rodeo I was just looking for help to make it easier. Don't plan on doing 120v. 600w/240v...is 2.5 amps per light. 12x2.5...30amps theres a 60 amp already running in. Just being lazy and hoping someone else would shed some light on how they would do it.

Yeah I like your original post, yes air cooled lights are a must with that much heat, unless you want to run a double-sized ac (which take a metric assload of power to run) too. Don't forget a 2' walkway on at least 2 sides of each table. Need to be able to get a ladder in between them in most cases. Is the building insulated and sealed? If not I'd address that first, too hard to do later on, and it will benefit you if you have 1 light or 100.
Under 90 plants eh? Well he'll be vegging them HUGE, til about 3-4 weeks each. Not good territory for 600's, thats 1000 turf. Need a BIG veg room and some 400 or 1000w MH lights to veg em enough. Not crazy about E&F for large plants, watering is a snap but big plants don't make good use of trays IMHO.

I just rented a 23X40 basement from a buddy and will fill it with 15KW and 2-3 gallon pots of coco with Tropf Blumat auto-waterers, automatic needs-based watering with no pumps, or timers, just gravity fed from a res! There's a thread in growers forums on them, good stuff.

obviously

anyways, beds with promix works for me
i would surely go more than 90 plants if you want a perpetual though

veg em two feet then they usually fill out enough...we got a heavy yielding strain about 120g per plant. But yeah 3 week veg is typical. Lumateks with the conversion halide bulbs veg in the flower room. Not the most efficient but thats how I've been doing it. My friend plans to copy this style.

I HAVE A ROOM 18X19 AND IM DOIN THREE STAGE PERPERTUAL GROW SPLIT LONGWAYS AND MAKE FLOWER ROOM A LITTLE BIGGER. BE SURE TO HAVE CLONES GOING SO EVERY THREE WEEKS YOU CAN THROW NEW ONES IN. THE BEST AND EFFICIENT WAY SEEN IT DONE AND NOW IM DOIN IT TOO. AREO PONICS WOULD BE YOUR BEST BET . IN THIS SITUATION

:yeahthats

Staying under 90 plants with 12-18 lights is going to be be tough. Your veg room is going to have to be very large. It would be one massive tree grow though!!

I have a 27x11 room with 17 lights (13 600s and 4 1000s) with 2 10" max fans and 1 8" max fan for air cooling.
A lot depends on the temp of the air being pulled in and how far it has to travel, number of turns it makes etc etc etc. Also, the ambient room temp.
I am currently over heating. My ambient temp is about 60 (we are subterranean) and the air i am pumping in is 50 or so right now.
It is a real trial and error situation, but you will probably need more or bigger fans.
KEEP US POSTED!!! AND GOOD LUCK.

PS.. we grow in dirt so can't help with the ebb and grow.

Yeah for doing large rooms the formulas are pretty rough. Are you air cooling your hoods or no? Any supplemental AC or dehumidifiers? I assume no CO2 since air cooling. I'm going to air cool my hoods and air cool the room for the first run, hoping I can get away for 4 6" vortex for the hoods and 2 12" vortex for intake/exhaust fans.
