I've used spinosad in flower it does not affect the buds.
found 2 cats on the LVPK today.....these fuckers are really making my season!! hydrosun we gotta look into that bat colony....where can you buy bats!

Damn man maybe at your new spot you can set up some greenhouses? I always thought those would be best for security anyway. I can't imagine seeing cats shrinking the weight of my harvest day by day. Hope you pull in a fat harvest bro.

dude crazy you say that cause i was just thinking the other day... bat breeding would be a gold mine! think about it.. i dont know what the population is like out there but out here ive only seen two bats this whole summer, and the mosquito population is out of control! growing up, there used to be so many bats at night you could here the flapping of their wings.. its sad most of them died from that disease.. anyway, it would be a win win since the environment is in desperate need of bats anddd... harvest their guano for a great organic fertilizer!.. just some stoned pondering lol...
but no lie a great pest controler for a setup like yourself... chickens!! let em roam in the patch, they wont fuck anything up they stay on the ground all day. and great tasting eggs!
Hey Yes, I have been away and come back to this (Caterpillars) and worse you have that mouthy Trinity Gold on your thread. Not sure what is worse.
All Joking aside, I hope you figure this out. Other crops are in your area and they would have the same pest. Not all plants are effected by the same pest though. Through plant evolution a plant's viability in any given location is it's resistance to indigenous pest. That is how plants evolve.
Where I live there have been problems with things like a Gypsy Moth from time to time. You have helicopters flying over and spraying the whole region. Nobody got sick and nobody got sued, so it must be safe. Caterpillars can take down an entire ecosystem. I wish I had an answer. Not sure what you are going to end up with harvesting a month or so early. That is horrible news.
Good luck man. Do your research and follow your heart. Check with the agriculture programs at local university. Hopefully it's not too late. Too bad you are not working alone. It makes the decision process easier.

huligan yea the cats have been hitting a few of the friends up here in butte county pretty tough...but i havent heard about any cat problems from my mendo/humbolt people.....seems to be some kind of moth up here on the ridge......maybe greenhouse is the best way to go..
next year im gonna keep everything sprayed down real nicely in veg....but i am gonna do more research on what local ag farmers are doing about caterpillars i have some good contacts in the vineyard and pear industry who can kick me down some advice....

well we took down the LVPK and LA con....really happy with the quality! its a little early but still has lots of shine and the LVPK has a nice bubba kush look and taste to it, super sticky. im covered in trim leaves and it feels great!

Glad you are happy man. I can't believe it is that good already. My folks in Oregon harvest their various hybrids right before Halloween and I always think they are early. If you could only find an animal that eats all those pest. Time for some seriously stoned research.
By cats, you mean felines? How are they making it on your property and what are they doing to your plants?

I love the chicken idea. Those little fuckers will eat all the bugs around your plants and when you chop they'll eat the fan leaves if you throw them down to them. After that you'll REALLY love the eggs.
LOL! hell yeah chickens are mad versatile when it comes to self sufficiency.. you could even harvest their shit.. chicken manure is a necessity in a soil mix imo.
i got to try that trimming feed method to my hens. the real deal green eggs and ham
been trimmin for the last few days covered in resin and leaves...really liking the LVPK and LA con...nice fat colas good frost and smell. the OG nugs are puny but look to be real easy to trim....the sun dried off the moisture from last nights rain...but more thunderstorms on forecast for october 1st so we are chopping everything this week.

Any reason you wouldn't invest in some sort of shelter for the plants. It seems to me that it would be well worth it, looks like they have a WAYS to go.

well we considered that but greenhouses bring additional expenses that dont really justify returns we managed to do this grow for around 5k to add greenhouses and the dehueys and ventilation systems that come with them would push us up to 15-20k....check out security firsts greenhouse grow his costed more than 50k.....but yea if i had the money and time i am definately interested in greenhouses.....

SFV OG, the smell on this is ridiculous, sad we lost around 5-10% of our tops to the god damn cats...i made myself feel better by skewering some of the fat catepillars and putting the butane torch to them
Cherry Pie that started to purple up unlike the other ones...the smell on this one is great too, stank purple with hints of durban skunk..
Cherry Pie that didnt purple up and looks more durban....the tray of CP cuts i was gifted has two phenos supposedly, one durban dom and the other GDP....

thanks, its a pretty small operation compared to most out this way but still a ton of work....next year we have plans to do as many as 40 200 gallons wait until i post pics of the new field much nicer location..... but between this outdoor crop and the indoor rooms im running im fucking exhausted...been surrounded by weed for almost every waking hour this week!
