It's a funny thing about "fucked up" sprouts.... I've had some that have turned out to be huge producers. Over the years I've come to learn that the most common cause is a root that was pinched or restricted in some way early on. But even with those, they will often straighten themselves out once you get to the second node production. Not always, but they can do it. Of course sometimes they look like everything is going perfect and then just stop growing altogether. If I'm really in need of space, I'll pull them and replace them; but if I'm not, I usually just let them grow to see what happens. Of course I only grow for myself and constantly produce more that I need or can even use, so that factors into my decision.

@pipedream it was genuinely fucked, just the first two leaves then........ Nothing. Had it for almost three weeks still just the first two leaves. Wet 3x10 and that was the only one that sprouted. Something must have happened to the seeds (but I have more coming my way).

Edit: replaced the Goatwoman with snoe sleepa x aliendawg#1.

hey guys whats up? i got a question for you guys!! i just finshed a grow and i think i might have over doesed my plants with nutes becuse i forgot the recipe or something just went wrong and im not sure but the crap came out so harsh i cant even taste the weed it just burns like im smoking hot sauce lol.. anyways i never made hash i was wondering if i turn harsh weed into hash will it then become harsh hash or do you know if hashing it will kill the harshness?>?

If you make true hash and in doing so remove at least 90% of the plant material, 100% of the harshness will be gone. The most garbage smelling and tasting pot can make excellent hash, honey oil, eatibles, and tinctures. As long as your starting product has a decent THC/CBD/Gland content, you're golden!

Great post, PD! I too have seen many young seedlings as well as clones that will revert into some funky mutation, but come out of it fine. I fear many a good plant has been culled due to the grower feeling what they had was less than desirable.
I am showing a recent shot of a clone that did this very thing just after it rooted. It is from a Sensi Northern Lights. The mother plant is a very vigorous and lush plant with beautiful structure. You can see where this clone has taken on the mutation.
I also feel that disturbing the roots is probably the "root" of much of this, but besides physical disturbance (from transplant or whathaveyou) this can also happen when the roots see a hotter-than-it-likes soil mixture. This particular cut was placed into a cup of FFOF just after root. OF is a pretty hot medium and I attribute the stress to that in this case. And I know that this little funky clone will produce a super nice plant so I love her the same as her beautiful friends. :)

Can I join in on the fun?

First thing I would like to do is thank everyone in this thread. If it wasn't for all of you, I don't think I ever would have built a cabinet like this.

I've been running this dual 150w HPS cabinet for a couple months now. It has been working PERFECTLY! Temps between 73-78 and both flowering chambers are 100% light proof.

Normal wardrobe cabinet 48"L x 20"W x 72"H

picture.php

What do we have here?

picture.php

Mother/Clone Cab up top. 48"L x 20"W x 20"H. 2' 2x55w bulb PLL

picture.php

Bottom left has a 150w HPS with 12 x 1 gallon self-irrigated containers in it. 23"L x 20"W x 48"H
picture.php

Bottom right has 4 x 1 gallon self-irrigated containers and 2 x 5 gallon self-irrigated containers. 23"L x 20"W x 48"H

picture.php

All of these plants are 31 days 12/12. This is my first run in the cab so canopy management wasn't really a concern. Next run, I'm thinking of having 1 x 5 gallon container in each cab and doing a 20"x20" scrog. I feel it would be less maintenance and I'd get better results than the way its running now.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Also, let me know what you think of it.

Cobra420 - Welcome aboard & enjoy the ride! Nice clean looking set-up. Tell me about your "1 gallon self-irrigated containers"

Thanks Rootidec and Pipedream.

The containers are more wicks than anything. The 1 gals were made using 2 - 1 gallon jugs. The one that holds the plant has the bottom cut off of it and has been flipped upside down to make the container. I drilled 1/4" holes in the lid to allow water to reach the wick (perlite) and drilled holes 4-5" up from the lid for drainage/air. The reservoir was made out of the other jug. I cut it just high enough so when the plant holder sits into it, lid side down, it almost touches the bottom of the res.

The top jug is then filled with perlite up to the drainage holes in the container. The rest of the jug is then filled with an organic soil mix. It holds just over 1 gallon of soil. I use a funnel to add water to the res to just under the drainage holes. If I had to guess, I'd say they hold close to a 1/4 gallon of water, maybe a little less without submerging the soil.

I know the containers should be blacked out, but so far, algae free. Also, I enjoy being able to see all the life in the soil. Worms, millipedes and all sorts of little critters wondering around in there.

Something I would do differently would be to try and use smooth containers instead of ones that have lots of indentations like the ones I have. I feel there would be less air pockets in the smoother ones. I feel I packed the soil in well, but I still notice little air pockets. So far, for being my first run with them, I think they are doing great. Minimal maintenance and the plants look way better than the ones that I've tried hand watering. I've also noticed that by using these, the plants use WAY more water than I had originally been giving them while hand watering. I'm assuming that's a good thing since they appear to be looking healthy. I think if I would have vegged them for a bit instead of going from plug to container and straight flowering, I'd have more root mass showing.

Depending on the plant, I have to fill the reservoirs every 2-4 days. Some could go longer, but I'd rather top them off if I'm working in there. After this run, I think I'm going to go toward 1 - 5 gallon container or 4 - 3 gallon containers on each side. It would be less plants and even less maintenance. Do a 20"x20" scrog per side or do 4 - 10"x10" mod scrogs per side. Now that I've seen this cab can produce, it's time to start working on canopy management and running something other than bagseed.

I love my 150w I really think it's enough w for a weekend smoker. You got to take care of your w, my ballast (cheap ass digital dimmable 70-80$ mh/HPS) is dimmed to 100w due to heat.
