Calc'd my new cabinets cubic ft 7.3!
outside: 22"x22"x28"
tiny tiny space. ran slightly large space with 150.
And ran out of light. Yield/Taste/Quality was awesome.
now, upped to 250 and smaller space.
After a rough start, just got temps under control.
150 GANG RULES!

I did vert for one run with my old 150 cab. It would have been alot better if I didnt use autos and used regular strains, trained them properly, and also if the footprint didnt suck. It was around 14" deep x 22" wide so I couldnt fully surround the light with plants like a vert setup should be. The bulb was hung vertically tho.
I would like to try vert again at some point but not until I have a square footprint to work with.

do you guys know if 150's are universal...like can they be mounted vertical or horizontal? I'm looking at my bulbs (sylvania from lowes) and I just see this 'Hg' with a circle around it...and 150w S55.

Thanks stealth those are some old pics a couple grows ago. I had two runs in a row that were autos because I bought some to start along with some regular strains so they would flower as the others were vegging still to get a quicker harvest. First run two seeds, two males, second run 3 seeds, 3 males so I only had the autos those runs. Not impressed.
Id say unless the box says otherwise they are universal. The Hg I think is just there to state that the bulb contains mercury which is toxic.

Here's my new 4 ladys. Bigger ones are called Green Spec its a 70% NL hybrid, thats all i know about it. They were prevegged like for ~2 weeks. Smaller ones are rooted clones from one of my Skudley Jamaicans from a previous run. They are in 5l diy growpot split in two vertically, so each gets 2,5l of soil (GS are in 3l pots).
And here's the rest of the bunch. Not sexed, waiting for transplant.

vert is fun, but now i'm doing something i've always wanted to try: one plant, one light (150 of course, well led in veg but for bloom 150), then probably back to vert.

camoxnhx, is your tent deep enough to mount your hood front to back? You may bet better light distribution than side to side. Either way you're doing a great job. Nice and green.

Good call I didnt even think about that. If he chopped the light apart n remote ballasted it would fit for sure. Thats what I did with my Sun System 150
That's right, it's oblong. I bet it's a much better hood than the square security job I bought. I ditched that thing like a bad habit.

Hi.
A while back I asked if anyone had used a galaxy dual 150w ballast...I was very hesitant to buy a digital ballast, but I picked one up anyways..and one of the sides didn't work. I'm in the process of returning it. When I took it back to the store the hydro guy said that he also had a dual 250w galaxy and the same thing happened. Based on that I don't recommend these dual ballasts...seems like one side likes to fail and not fire the bulb. One side works fine but the other side tries to fire the bulb, and it immediately goes out...then 30 secs later if refires and fails again, rinse and repeat.
but anyways...here's what I built...dual 150w vertical cabinet with a 63w penetrator in the middle cooled by a panasonic whisper fan with a bulenath(?) style carbon filter tray. I plan on running it zero veg sog..much like anti's new dual 400w cab.

Putting the final touches on my dresser cab, but in the mean time, here's the un-sexed seedlings
and here's their clones
The 8 seedlings will be vegged under my 150w while the cuttings are rooting, and then sexed. There's one variety I may keep a male from if I get one.
