Don't worry about it. Most hydro shops are selling 12 year old nutes anyway. What, you think they replace their shelves every year. Sure they tell you they do but why would they from a business standpoint. As long as it looks recent it's golden (in their eyes). LOL

maybe true for some hydro shops in small town america but not the big city's, lets just say the hydro shop i use just happens to be directly across from a major university. now lets say they sell expired ferts how long ya think she would stay open past the 20 yrs she's allready been open ???. i'll tell ya not long i had some ff tiger bloom ratteled when shook hurt my garden because of it once i figured out it was that i returned the unused portion of tiger bloom. the shop replaced it along with apology

again personally i wouldnt use ferts that old but its upto masterlow on what he should do. liquide budswell isnt that expensive and the dry bag of budswell is even cheaper

That's the point, maybe most growers don't attribute their probs to expired nutes like they should.

I reckon go for it - shelf lives of products are generally there to provide accountability for companies and to shift more produce - we don't have Budswel over here in England, it sounds like good stuff indeed

Man you guys are right on,the shops themselves are being supplied by places where the nutes may have already sat for multiple years.They dont know how old they are when they get em.Then try asking somtime how long that paticular product you are buying has been in the store and see if you get a straight answer.Ive been goin through this bigtime half the nutes I buy have gone bad,called em on it and almost got booted from the store.Then I went and dumped a bunch more cash the following week and three bottles outa what I got stink like ammonia or somthing.
Ive had it with all of them.There are soooo many stores now youd think they would realize they basically need to bow at your feet and kiss your toes for buying from them cus if not there is just a million other places to go.This store is the only one in the state and for this reason I think they believe they are it on a stick and like you get stuff there or not at all.Ive tried to explain to them that they already dont see about three quarters of my biz cus they dont carry the stuff I want but I still try and support the locals by goin there for what I can get and they keep doin this to me.
I dont think they realize how big of a thing this internet is and how easy it is to get products offline,not only that but how fast and easy it is to spread info like about say a piss poor buissiness.A small a community as this is they dont realize how many of their customers all know each other and word spreads like wild fire around here.
I think ALL companies in general need to realize that they wouldnt be in business if it not for us,being marijuana growers that is.They seem to wanna pretend that there are enough people growing tomatoes and orchids for them to make a living off but that is straight up BS.They need to start catering to us not visa versa.And not only that but educate the people behind the counters and on the telephones.I dont know how many times Ive had to explain things to some salesperson like this formula had changed or whatever.Its very sad when the customer knows more about the product they are buying than the person sellin it to them.I mean Im sure there are educated ones out there but I just wish they ALL operated with such standards.All this moaning maybe I need to open a shop and show em how its done..yeh right Id be shut down within a week for handing out too much advice on "tomato"growing.LOL!!Well thanxx for hearing my rant I am done now.Peace Gromerr Pott!!!!

All I can say is run somethin that's went anaerobic and see how yer plants like it.I reckon yud have no plants before long.I know this from personal exp,it'll flat ass mess yer ph up.Most grow stores don't give two shits about yer plants,they know somebody will come along not knowin any better and buy their crap anyway....But who knows maybe budswell bein jus a form of phosphate doesn't go bad? Btw,aren't ya supposed ta use budswell mixed with somethin else ta balance out ratio's of npk to avoid toxic overdose from jus usein a phosphorous source alone? (in otherwords,isn't it jus an additive?) Anyhoo,very interesting thread,thanks Masterlow,it'll be fun ta see how it turns out.I think if it works correctly it should really blow em up eh? I like 12 year old scotch and bourbon,,,,,,,,,,,, but some of my worst memories of growing was with old nutes that turned lethal.
