Everything is going as planned...I'm keeping up with the canopy and it is looking good. I topped the bottom shelf as well. I'm trying to keep a close eye on one of the PK's that is on the top. It looks a bit small.
Can you go over the nutes again?
I'm going to HD today to pick up the skill saw for the tracks and frame. I also picked up a stud finder from HD so that we can properly install those 2x4's.
So I cut the 2 x 4's to spec and tried and failed at getting them mounted on the roof. I was thinking we can use dry wall screws. What are your thoughts on that? Or we can opt for longer screws which I don't think is going to fix the problem...Any thoughts?
Purple Kush is slow in veg. Don't worry about it, it won't look much like anything else at this point.
Follow what I gave them last time (it is on the log I have been keeping)
Go in the same order while mixing and monitor your PPMs when adding the last couple ingredients. Keep the PPMs as close to the chart I gave you as possible.
Starting from the base and framing a makeshift room.
Pest Strip for good measure. Got a couple options if they do come in (einstein/FF Don't Bug)
Happy to come back and see both shelves are getting dense.
Extremely limited vertical space is making me top aggressively as LST is not nearly enough alone. ECSD takes to it best. Larry is a vine of a bitch and is growing laterally more than anything.
ECSD on the right. Larry Left.
Frame this week and get this shit popping before I run out of space on the veg shelves!
Wow nice grow man, Im trying to rebuild my veg space on a budget and you gave me some great ideas. I take it thats just a table set up in a room with the small fans blowing on the plants, any thing cooling them? co2? What all equipment are you useing. I need idea for rebuilding my veg closet thanks alot keep up the good work!
Fullthrottle - Its a Home Depot shelf unit. It is the only one I could find that would fit the dimensions of the Sun Blaze 4' 8 bulb T-5s I have. If you are going to do something similar I would rig up a tray that would fit under all the containers and something to catch the drainage...it is a bitch emptying out the saucers all the time. Also, I'm going to put netting up next round and Scrog a fewer # of plants. Aside from that its 1 Gal containers with an extra hole drilled in each for drainage. Was initially going to have Hydroton Rocks lining about an inch at the bottom of the containers, but it didn't seem needed in small containers, I'll just be doing it for bloom.
One reason really.... money. Don't have enough money to commit to do this thing the way I would optimally do it. I'd rather scrap the CO2 gen and get a tank and a regulator. I could avoid the excess heat and run my AC less, saving money.
As far as Hydro. I would like to run a system with lower plant numbers, optimally I'd like to be at 18 in flower. In that case I'd be running large containers on drippers(similar to Asher1's grow). That coupled with only 18 plants veggin in CO CO under a SCROG canopy would cover my given Flower space in a pretty short Veg/ turnaround time.
At this point the goal is to run soil once more, then invest in a the new hydro system. As well as new bulbs/hoods/CO2. In waiting 2 cycles I'd be using up most of my soil base nutes, as well as letting me save enough to set up everything at once.
Always something to improve, so I'm looking forward to setting up a hydro system and seeing what I can do after that.
Doing the lord's work on Sunday...
ECSD Right Larry Left (1 week ago)
Framing on the cheap
Not using the light rail to its fullest potential, but its serving a purpose.
Ballasts outside the grow space
9,000 BTU AC, run to another bedroom via the extension cord.
Use the bungee kids they dampen the vibrations!
Confusing looking but this is the duct muffler suspended in the "buffer space" where the carbon cleaned veg space air is drawn through the hoods... and out into this space, where an Ozone gen is constantly on mixing with the air ... eventually escaping behind the white tarp covering the soon to be opened window.
tarp door
Passive intake for the AC.
Passive intake goes out the roof at a right angle and toward the darkest corner of the surrounding space before the ceiling... light leaks
Intake for the hoods...drawing from the veg space...through the hoods and into the buffer space to be cleaned once again by the Ozone gen.
This just about concludes the build.
Just finished mixing all the soil... picking up a propane refill and transplanting tomorrow...5 Gal bags...lined with hydroton rock base...soil...perlite...you know what it is...
lets see what ya got GERM.. i watched your last grow you had... lets see what you got goin on now that you arent tryin to be so stealth and have more room...
I'm liking how light movers are becoming more popular.
I'm a little concerned with how little of the screw hooks have been threaded into the frame for the fan mount, but I'm sure you know what you're doing.
Wezzy F - Thanks for the encouragement...haven't done grow this size since before og went down so I'm amped to see how this turns out.
Pandemic - Thanks, and a little premature, Auf gehts Deutschland! 2010 werden wir weltmeister sein!
Badugi - The screws are not the best. i'd recommend something with a larger hook, making it much easier to grab ahold of them and put some muscle into it. With the 4 hooks evenly distributing the weight I hope that they are deep enough...time will tell because I'm done fucking around with them.
Work to be done...post up the final pics tonight and its on to the diary.
first off, good work man. this is gonna be something to keep up with. why didn't i think of buying one of those shelves for veg?....good wok man. be safe
