10x10 in a really hot garage...Help!

If you had a 10x10 tent in a really hot garage that your renting how would you intake air? Needless to say I can't cut any holes. However I do have one vent hole in the garage near the floor which I could use. The garage entry door has a dog door hole in it and I plan to use that somehow.

I plan to have an exhaust/carbon filter and am also using a 2ton AC with the unit mounted inside the tent.

Any ideas would be great!

Dog Door hole for Intake, then prob build a seperate box where the air gets mixed or just pump fresh air with a intake inside the garage and go directly out from the tent via the vent hole....

but this could be very tricky to hold under pressure ;)

More to the point.. where u gonna extrat ur air out to? Same problem but easier fix.

even more to the point u want around 1 part air coming in to 3 part air coming out 1:4 ratio and even then is ur garage isulated guessing not ur gonna have lots of heat issues constant changes in temps even with the tent i would actually build ur own room and insulate it a lot more efficient then tent and then even ur gonna want air conditioner i say

cut a piece of wood that will fit nice and snug in the doggie door.
Place hole for ducting to match your outtake fan size in said piece of wood.
get a duct start/collar to fit into this hole.
attach ducting and outtake fan to this.

How big is your other vent?
it may work with passive intake, but you can always cut wood the size of the vent and do the same hole/ducting/fan thing except the fan blowing in...

or you can seal it up and get a/c and co2...

I had a similar situation years ago... rental w/ garage, didn't want to damage the house, etc.

I ended up going CEA with a mini-split, dehuey, and CO2 generator. Just needed a 3 inch hole for the mini-split lines.

Looks like you already have an ac which is the biggest expense

Doesn't the garage have a ridge vent or something similar? I would get more ac personally and run sealed.

How can that work? Where do the 3 or 4 parts of air that you're not intaking come from to be exhausted? You can't create air, and you can't create a vacuum.

He needs passive intake twice the sq inches of the sq in of exhaust. Or better yet, run sealed with AC, dehu, CO2. -granger

Can you guys elaborate on what "run sealed" means?

I have a 2ton mini split AC as well as I have a 20lb tank with an Green Air Products CDMC-6 and a Titan Controls CO2 Regulator Replacement Solenoid w/ Cord Set

@indocult - The vent hole is a rectangle which is roughly 9"w x 4"H and I plan to run the lineset through that as well as a hose for irrigation purposes. I have measured the left over space and can fit something like this in that space.

@testymctester - What is CEA?

if you got ac no need to vent/intake anything.....hence sealed...yeehaw..when you have ac you don't want to vent out the cold air,,, you also don't want to introduce any ambient air to raise you cooled air..you now need to use the co2 addition as the ambient air would soon be depleted...hope this helps

this comes from a lot of books ive read Grow basics u use cfm fans and when using cfm fans (can fans those little metal fans coming 6inch-12inch) u want les air comin in then going out about 1:4 ratio

These "lot of books" are incorrect. You cannot have less air coming in than going out. Think about it. How can you have more air exhausting than being taken in? I think you have either misunderstood or you should throw those books away, and get books that have correct info. Very hard on fan, and physically impossible. -granger

I totally missed the part about you having AC

No need for exhaust, running sealed is where you seal up your grow area so it is as close to airtight as possible, then keep your temps in check with your A/C, and run c02 because the plants need it to breathe. you'll probably need a dehumidifier as well

Few details missed in that ratio quote .
Its 1 is to 3 for passive intake . Passive intake vents need to be 3 times the size of the outlet vent to balance the air pressure as you allude to .

Thanks for sharin

so elmer I misunderstood? and its the opposite please tell me to be honest its new to me

word for word It says four times more air exits then enter the room it also goes to say u want to suck intake air in on the bottom (should be hepa filter) and exhaust hot air from the top where it should be the hottest and granger I don't think Jorge cervontes is wrong if anything I am misunderstanding something

Thanks everyone for chiming in with info :)

Is it possible to have a tent be a sealed environment? Considering I need to break the seal so to speak to do work?
