1000/600 Watt Rotation?

Alright, here is the idea... Now help me decide if it will "work"?

I'm currently running two 4x4's side by side and one is running 1000 watts and the other will be running 600 watts.

My idea is, rotating the plants under the 1000 over to the 600 and switching them out daily in rotation. Do you see this method having an ability to increase yields?

The only things I see that would be a con is:

1.) Stress (which I honestly don't see much of an issue with because outdoors plants have cloudy and sunny days).

2.) The labor ( which honestly isn't a big deal to me lol).

What do you think? Try it or not?

It's not going to increase yield. It will boost the yield and density of the 600 tent and decrease the yield and density of the 1k tent.

I'd rather keep each tent to it's own plus less chance of dropping gear on plants. If anything much there will be some lights off time during lights on time, for moving gear.

I have decided to just switch out my 4ft 4 lamp t5 fixture blue spectrum bulbs with some warmer ones and add it to the mix along with probably another exact same fixture to go with it.

So centered will be my HPS and hood and on each side will be a t5 fixture sandwiching it lol.

Run the two tents 11/13 and change the 1000w light between the two if possible.

So are you saying to switch the bulbs out everyday? Like between each off/on period exchange the lights everyday in rotation? That would be the same thing as moving the plants back and forth and actually much easier with hardly any labor involved. Thanks man, for some reason i'd never thought of that lol.

And what is the reason for 11/13? I've used that schedule before on some 80% + sativa's. But I see no reason to do this for any other reason, can you specify/explain?

The reason for the 11/13 is so the equipment can cool before you handle it. If both grows are 12/12 then you would have to move a hot bulb.

The plants will make more use of the 1000 in the first month of flowering, if your gardens are staggered it could be worthwhile swapping them for the veg & first month in each, then the 600 for the final furlong, less heat, less light when the plants need/want less

i wouldn't bother.. just drop your 600 nice an low.. maybe take all the shorter plants put them under the 600.. tallers under the 1000.. allowing for penetration down until the lowest buds... on both tents..

the only other thing i can say is. get your temp and humidity dialed into the VPD chart.. until that last 2-3 weeks flower then u can drop you humidity lower if u fear mold or bud rot..

waste of time...yeehaw... IMHO..theres no magic its simple .. more light better yield and density all else being tuned in ...when you put the 1000 watt plants under the 600 they aint getting as much as their used to and not preforming at max ..lots of work for no real gain..but if you try it let us know how it goes..i just don't see any benefit..i think the 1000 watt crop will decrease somehow and the 600 prob will improve somehow...so lots of work for nutin..but I have been wrong before

I'm with the trout. WOT. Buy another 1K ballast and bulb.
After that it'll be: one under blue light, one under red?
It never ends.

If it were me, I wouldn't dare change out the bulbs daily or less. Recipe for disaster. I'd probably do a side by side and see which produces better. There's a case to be made for lower light during ripening. Once I had a 600w HPS bulb go out during the last weeks, and due to fuck ups by online vendor [long story] I had to run a 400w MH on one 3x3 for 11 days during last 3 weeks, and saw no difference at all on yield, flavor or anything else. This was on 3x3's, not 4x4's. Learned to always have a spare bulb. Good luck. -granger
