Okay, so I started out just wanting to rant. Then I decided to be less judgemental and more open-minded, and what do my eyeglasses reveal? Oh dear me, i think its time for an..
Ehhhhhh-duuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh.
First off, yes, cops are lazy. It makes SeNsE that LEO would chill and watch at a place where growers not only WANT to go but sometimes NEED to go. Lazy, yes. Stupid, hell no.
So why should any of us assume thier ignorance, or even need to talk about it. Ive always just ASSUMED leo is one step ahead of me, and worked from that. Im a soil grower. My haunt is not a hydroponic specialty shop, its your local do-it-yourself store. I dont even BUY garden supplies in winter, if I cant justify it.
The first and foremost rule, out of anything you will ever glean from these electronic pages is BE SAFE. That often means going without, or being two or even three steps ahead of our persuers.
Yes, all I can say is if at all possible, go in your strait laced buddy's vehicle, and wait a few days before driving the equipment back to the grow house, taking many detours.
While the article is almost 7 years old there have been several busts in that region.

Dozens of boxes of marijuana were seized in the raid.
SEATTLE - Law enforcement officers seized more than $5 million in marijuana in the south King County area over the past three days. In addition, the officers confiscated more than $250,000 cash, seized 5 vehicles and arrested nine people.
According to the King County Sheriff's Office, the seizures were the result of a dozen search warrants served at houses in southeast unincorporated King County, Federal Way and Puyallup. Large marijuana growing operations were found at nine of the houses.
Inside the houses, police found sophsticated growing equipment, including giant fans with charcoal to filter the air and hide the smell.
In addition to the processed marijuana, officers confiscated nearly 5,000 plants.

Sophisticated growing equipment seized
The bust came from information provided by King County firefighters after they were called to a house at 31827 Kent-Black Diamond Road for a medical problem several months ago. While never going into the home, the firefighters could hear fans and other equipment operating. They reported their suspicions to detectives at the Sheriff's Maple Valley Precinct.
The Sheriff's Office believes all of the raided houses are part of a large, criminal organizations with connections to British Columbia. All of the houses are said to be in middle and upper class neighborhoods and all were using methods to steal electricity to run equipment.
In addition to the nine people taken into custody, three children, ages 1, 4 and 11-years-old, were found in two of the homes and turned over to Child Protection Services.
Members of the Drug Enforcement Agency, Washington State Patrol, Immigration and Custom Enforcement and the Internal Revenue Service took part in the investigation.
My only concern would be if my car was seen at a hydro shop, and then they ran my plates to see where I lived. Making that connection wouldn't be a good thing. A good reason to travel far to shop and only as needed.
Order online and just pickup your gear at location MailBox Etc. That's what i did and didn't have any problems. I ordered from places that only shipped in plain brown boxes and nothing that would say growing gear and such. Safest way if you ask me.
Take care,

GoldDustWoman, thats one of the best ways to go about it, providing you have credit cards. But I always worry about the paper trail. So for me its a matter of driving a mates car to a shop that I know the owner, on the other side of town, parked in a carpark out or view(never out front), that has multiple exits, go for a small walk to check out who's around before entering the back of the shop and then getting a run down on anything that was out of the ordinary during the past few days. I leave empty handed every time just to see if I'm happy with the situation walking back to the car only to return later for my purchase.
Yes it is time consuming but I refuse to become another statistic..... plus, once bitten twice shy. Yeh thats right, I've had my arse kicked by leo before....... changed addys and all the rest of it, so I tread very cautiously now days.
Hey Smurf, I've always use Money Order's from gas station or Wal-mart. Then you don't have to worry about paper trail. I normally go online. Pick everything i want and then check out through the shopping chart and mail my order in. Some companies, I'll just call to get the shipping price and then mail in order. I also forgot to mention. I use a Mail Etc box in another town just in case. If you order online and use a mail box place in another town and pay by MO. There shouldn't be any problem. If your ordering from a company that ship's plain boxes and not Hydro words or writing on box.
Take care,

it would be the cops buying up all the vasoline to loob up all the asses they ream on the regular.
There are so many many damn hydro stores in the bay area. I would guess 30 easy, if not more. We just over power them with shear numbers, we got more growers than they got cops, a lot more, lol.
I do recomend driving to another store, going to eat etc before and after go to your shop and always watch the people and vehicles around. Its just better to be safe than sorry, esp. if you are not in a very MJ frienly local. Peace_highst
