I cant use hps or mh lights because of the hellicopter cams they use here

huh?

I have 300 W Halogen shop lights that run hotter than a 400HPS, plus, they put 2 on the stand - shitty for growing but bright and hotter than, probbably a 1000 when running 2.

and you really believe in flying helo pot detectors?

wellll

ok then,,,,,,,,,,,,

on topic then,,,,

I have a 320 W floro veg area, and a 400 MH veg chamber and have been growing a new strain, Hashplant by Sensi. anyway,, poor growth but decent health under the floros and vatly improves vigor in a couple adys under the MH. I'm woundering if a rewire migh be in order on these shop lights....

hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

well uh they busted a well known attorney this was, lots of places have these cams, I've seen them being used on cops and I have a friend who worked at the airport where the highway patrol helli is stored and him and I gave it a good lookover one day a there it was mounted on the left side of the hellicopter, with two laptops in the cockpit.

I'm in enough trouble as it is and I don't want to push my luck, call me a chicken but I don't want to go to prison.

So I just got the two ballasts and lights I ordered to test this overdriving thing out. I only hooked one up so far, but I did the wiring as shown in the diagram I posted, and they worked out nicely. They were very bright, I didn't get to see them under normal operation though. I might do that with the second ballast, but removing wires from sockets seems like it'd be a pain in the ass so I'm not sure. Either way, I'm very glad with how these turned out for the price. Using 18" bulbs, I'm getting about 50w~ for each ballast setup, which is about $25. For the cabinet I'm using the next grow, I'm going to use four ballasts I think, totaling around 200w.

(If you wanted to grow on a larger scale, you can get 4' (32w) bulbs for $5.00 each. Bringing the total of the setup to $32, you can get around 110 watts.

Bounty29 you will be surprised at how little they stretch compared to flowering under a HPS Even after i moved mine from under the flouros at about 3 weeks they haven't gained any height under he hps but they have put on some good weight. Could be a good way for people to grow some tall strains indoors with out the worry of a big stretch. I'm going to have to try with some haze :chin:

I'll post up some pics with the plants now that they are close to finishing maybe another 10-14 days? :woohoo:

FGandalf: Yeah, I vegged with CFLs my last grow, kept very close to the plants, and they stayed very short, but with great growth. I left them under there for the first two or three weeks of flowering and I think that made a big difference. Both plants I grew (bagseed) were quite sativa, I don't know if I would've been successful if I hadn't utilized CFLs

reaperz: Without a doubt I'll be scrogging, it's the perfect setup. Light evenly distributed over a 1.5'x1.5' area, so why not match it with a canopy spread evenly over a 1.5'x1.5' area?

Hello Everyone....... I agree with FGandalf....

Hello Everyone....... I agree with FGandalf....

I have see the exact same thing in my grows. I use the floros for everything except the flowering and they are excellent. Those new curled floros meant to replace light bulbs are excellent. A little more heat but a lot of power in one spot. I buit an aray of them and they work excellent..

Peace

Here is a few pics

Here is a few pics

So here are the plants at 51 days of 12/12 I think they have between 5 and 10 days left and the nycd x cc maybe could go 15 more but i will be watching for the "amber" in about 50% or better before i cut anything down except a stalk of the powerplant i cut to see how much the high difference is with just a few amber tri's compared to at 50 % amber.

first up is blueberry

powerplant

nycd x cc type 1

nycd x cc type 2

Nice buds! :yummy:

I finished putting together my floro system today. If I've got them wired the way the diagram shows, they're definitely putting out 1.7x~ of what they are specified, right? I can't wait to start my next grow, it should be so much better! I've also got some random flowers growing too so those will be there to mix things up a bit.

I made a thread about how to setup a floro system, if anyone wants they can take a look...

thanks bounty, i just checked it out nice work on the pics and the details. I like the idea of using the smaller bulbs, easier to handle and better use of space. :joint:

Those are nice buds under any kind of light. Look very dense and thick. You definitely have that floro thing down. I use to do floro.... I still use it all except for flowering but you are making me wonder. I like to add it to the HPS, now that they have those coiled 6500K they make a geat supplement to my grow. I may add more ...... sort of pushing it now.... 75-85 watts/ sq ft. I use the floros on my mothers and their children until time for them to bloom into their adolecense.

Great job man. Always nice to see something different.

Peace

Yea I would never go back to the long tube flouros, those lights your talking about Bree actually push out 6,900 lumens, you can also get very big one at Wal Mart that push out around 3000(42w), for now I will be using cfls to flower the paranoia just gets to me, I've been in a little to much trouble in my home state if you know what I mean.
