Chamba said:I didn't have a mite all year (pre-sprayed miticide in Spring) and now the weather has become cooler and much drier my later finishing sativas are all showing some minor attacks and one or two have a more serious mite infestation and are similar to your plant....it's sub tropical here, but usually mites are not a problem in October..
of course it's too late for spraying anything but strong sprays of water* to wash the mites off ..which is an effective, safe but labor intensive method to use in early flowering if every leaf is sprayed daily, but impractical on a big tree..and you have to aim the strong jets of water away from the buds and trichomes and when you harvest remove all the leaves and bury or burn them (use a microscope to check out the undersides of the leaves! and you def will not try to make hash from them) then hang the whole tree upside down outdoors for a few days so the adult mites walk off the plant ..after a few days hanging under a tree or in the garage i often soak the buds from mited trees in water for an hour or so then give each branch a gentle shake underwater and flick them in long armed easy loops to get most of the water off and hang to slow dry...and of course give that plant a real close manicure!
