Unfortunately this run was a lower yield. Despite the serious defoliation i did. So, im going to lighten up on that. I also dried back too hard a couple times and had collapsed plants in our og trays. Hoping to see this next run hit that 30+ mark. We weighed in just under 27 this run and 29 last run. Def a little bummed. Overall still glad to have a solid harvest. Better than the 16 i got on the first run in here hah!

Hey bud. Can you clarify something for me.
10x720w lights=7200w
6 tables, 4x8.5= 204sqf, stretched out to about 250 of canopy.
250/10.75=23.25meters
7200/23.25 = 310w per meter.

310w per meter?
310/10.75=29w per foot.

Am I going wrong somewhere?
the 720 is a 4x4 light, aiming around 480w a meter. Your look to be suitably spaced. I must be harvesting the wrong numbers somewhere.

I was just picking though the number, to look how you increase the power over time. Seemingly a week at 40%, then a linear increase to 100%, over the next 3 weeks. I'm just not sure of this 310w a meter.
w per square foot is insignificant. measure light intensity with PPFD( umols/s) and photon volume with DLI (moles/day). Different fixture produce different value because of the different system efficiency.

the way I do it;not perfect but close.

10x agrobar = 7200w * 2.75 umol/J * J/w/s= 19800 umol/s

250sqf / 10.76 sqf per sqm = 23.23m2

PPFD=19800 umol/s / 23.23m2 = 852umol/s/m2

852umols/s/m2 *3600s/h*12h/day = 36.8mole/m2/day

DLI=36.8mole/m2/day(flowering)

So considering the other parameter , your setup is light limited in flowering and you can max out DLI in veg.

Lights are sold by the Watt. Often to people that don't have a ppfd meter. Or a build to measure yet.
I was using watts per meter, in the absence of other figures. They are all related.

I was also calculating how the 2.85umol/j claimed, would relate. Though that wasn't why I asked about the room size again. That is just a design spec I needed to check. Size and power are closely related. With great significance

Day 8, i may have gone too far with the higher plant count. This is very full, im going to have to do some serious training into this trellis to keep them out of the lights. Pushing the lights hard too were already at 65%. Im trying to keep the root zone a little drier and night temps high to reduce stretch.

3rd net on day 8. I would snap them flat to the 2nd again, and let the heads rise up from there. ASAP, as you want to keep the established tops, as tops

Perhaps the earlier light increase, and a bit more spreading, could fill the system without more plants being needed. You seem to strip out a lot more than I do, which leads to a slightly bare look at times. A few holes, where a bit more spreading out wouldn't of hurt.

It's good to see your schedule moving along on time. That's a real earner, that is usually overlooked.

I may have to wish you luck with this one :)

Ive got a plan lol well see if it works out. Only some of them are through net #3. Im only really sweating two of the trays.

They do seem extra happy. Im at 80% light intensity and were almost 3 weeks in. During weeks 4-5 im going to try to push to 100% but im admittedly a bit fearful. Ive never been this close to the fixtures.

the distance doesnt impact that much. you want to capture the photon thats it , they are not lost with more distance just more spread and thats a good thing.

I wish they were about 3-5 inches shorter. But well see how it goes. They are seeming happy so far. If i see some curl from turning the lights up i wont be surprised. Well see what they can handle. Some of these tops are going to see 1300-1400+ umol.

Once, when I was in this situation, I ran lights at 75% for 10 hours of flowering, but the last two hours only running 50%. It seemed gentler on the buds, and there wasn't much burning. I know you're a pro and probably already have the strat down, but figured it couldn't hurt if I'd throw that in

I appreciate the experience! Ive never done a run yet where i didnt at least try to hit full strength. I dont think i can control myself haha i need to know how they will respond. What if they absolutely hate it? I want to know. Because they also might love it😆

It's a fine line with LEDs, as I'm sure you know!
They're so powerful and the light seems more confined in a beam, rather than quite as widely dispersed as traditional bulbs.

Especially with some strains, the difference between 80% and 100% can be huge. 100 is sometimes powerful enough that I'm chasing calmag deficiencies, trying to balance heat and ventilation with healthy levels of plant respiration.

But if you dial it in and handle it, boy are they powerful. Buds blow up and get as dense as granite. LED close up penetrates very well.

When I switched from hps to led, at first I thought I had to keep the light closer but shortly after I noticed my plants had ''light stress''.

Now I put my led at 30'' above plants and they grow into the light , at the end light are 18'' above apex and they never show sign of light stress.

But when I get to 45 mole then it start showing some light sign of stress and thats probly related to co2, which is limited in my setup.

With your setup , no doubt you can max dli at 60 mole and if you see sign of stress thats probly because light are too close. this is radiant heat coming from the light that burn your plant not the photon.

I think well be ok, most tops are 8-10inches away but some are 4-6inches. Well see how it goes. I never wanted to be quite this close im more a foot to 18inch away from the fixtures guy even w leds.

I notice the plants at the front have lost some turgor. A short row of them, that are perhaps a strain grouping.
For those who didn't swallow the whole damn dictionary, they have stopped praying, and started to display some water issues.
This is a common reaction to a light increase.
