1 plant in trouble, overwatering is my only guess

this thread has gotten outta control

OK, Im giving it a shit load of water tomorrow. I havent watered in a good while, but when I did water still ran out the bottom. It has decent drainage, 3-4 holes in bottom, on on the side near the bottom. And yes I will do the lifting thing. Hopefully my plant will look happier next time you see here.

And yes, I know to not go cutting tons of leaves off. The only reason I have is because of light burn, the things the CFLS are screwed into are pieces of shit and fall down and frustrate the shit outta me alot. This problem should also be fixed tomorrow

check back in a few days for a new update. peace

Or you could water a little less (by volume) a little more frequently to habituate to your specific peats needs or just drown them and wait for the ineviatebly signs of overwater and introduction of root rot (pythium).

Your peat likes to be consistently just moist, not too dry, not too wet, don't keep flipping to the extremes.

His point was you can't tell by sight.
I'm saying the better you get at this the more you'll be able to tell by sight.
It's all about reading your plants so why overlook the most obvious (at least to me) sense, ie. sight?
I could also guess when it needs food or any other thing the plant needs. We (people with experience) can usually predict the plants needs ahead of time. Are you gonna tell him to feed whenever he "feels" like it? or are you gonna tell him (obviously a rookie) to learn his plants? How will he ever learn if he can't tell when there isn't any water in the pot because he can't read his plants yet? Like i said, if your dealing with clones or nursery plants that are all the same size you can predict water needs with accuracy. If your dealing with different plants with different watering needs, you WILL NEED TO WATER AT DIFFERENT TIMES. All my plants pots and soil look dry but that doesn't mean they all need to be watered.

I know it isnt the greatest pic but here she is. A hell of alot better, and even bigger. Guess I shouldn't have been so reluctant to give her some water...

live and learn I guess

Rob,

Nice plants man, glad they are back and healthy.

Ya man, underwatering, overwatering, I have a lot of trouble with it 2.

And schedules don't seem to work cause it always drys out at different times.

I'd say a combo of picking up, finger in the soil, maybe even a moisture meter, would be the best way to see if they need water. Try em all!

Experience I'm sure will make us the best of growers, but it sure sucks seeing plants sad!
