Does anyone in NZ recognize this strain from the Bay of Plenty, Rotorua area?
I was given a handful of seed by a friend who got it from a friend of a friend in Rotorua.
Most plants smell of lemons and haze but of 7 this one girl smells strong of burnt stubble and no lemon!
Judging by the look and strain diversity I'm guessing it's been around a while

Something positive for Victorians. Hopefully other states follow suit asap.

Victoria to end automatic licence loss for drivers testing positive for medicinal cannabis

Magistrates will have sentencing discretion for drivers who test positive for THC, if they hold a valid prescription

Instead, magistrates have been given the power to exercise sentencing discretion for drivers who test positive for the cannabinoid chemical tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), if they hold a valid prescription for medicinal cannabis and are unimpaired while driving.

We have to see the bill, but as it stands the drug testing does not test for impairment but instead tests for traces of a prohibited (illegal) substance.

So if it's up to magistrates then people will still be pulled over randomly tested and if a positive is shown a loose the licence on the spot and then attend court like they do with any DUI, and then It's up to the courts.

The only real way to stop these tests is for cannabis to become legal, then they will need to test for impairment and not just test for traces of a prohibited substance.

you have to go to court to loose your license still , they cant take it away before that ...

this is at least a step forward from what the current situtation is ,
if you provide a certificate to say you use cannabis medicinally ,
and if you were not considered impaired , then the judge has the ability to show some discretion and not take a license away ...
lets hope the other states follow ,
once a precedent is made with something like this , the rest are bound to follow it ...

If your MDT test is positive, you'll be taken to a roadside testing van/bus, or back to a police station to provide a saliva sample. This sample will also be tested and if positive, you'll be banned from driving for 24 hours.
You can't drive for 24 hours after a positive test, then you get to drive again up until the court date.

Like I posted Wally we need to see the new Bill but if they are talking about it being up to the magistrates then it's just more spin.

If patients were legal under law to use Cannabis (they're not) then the Government could then not test drivers that are medical cannabis patients because they could no longer test for a prohibited (illegal) substance.

This was lobbied and pushed by the Medical cannabis industry, none of this is of benefit to patients at this point.

We have no real activists pushing for law reform, the only real law reform came about by politicians in the ACT and no one that claims to be a rec or patient activist even supported that bill.

A lot of activists claim they want law reform, but most showed up outside Parliament with a chant of free the weed,.

The only real MC bill is still sitting in the upper house of the NSW Parliament, and it's sitting there because no one got behind it to support it.

yea i dunno i think thats a bit of a grey area,
hopefully something solid comes out , obviously they need to take note of precedents,
though even prescribed medicines , if one is impaired by them its illegal to drive ,
gee ive had a few of those energy drinks and dont reckon i was in a condition to drive , lol ..
Id always thought one could drive on private property under the influence , but ive since learned thats not the case either ,

It's illegal to drive, attempt to drive or supervise a learner while affected by drugs. You cannot drive while impaired by any drug, whether it is prescribed by a doctor or over-the-counter medication. These laws apply if you are on a public road or on private property.

Thousands more court cases in an already over full legal system. Interesting to see how this plays out!
