Hello! Welcome to the outdoor strainguide, which I hope can become a valuable resource for new and experienced growers on I.C.
But for it to work I need your help! I need reports from outdoor growers, the more detailed the better.
Here is the basic format, and a example filled in:
Strain/Breeder: Afghan, Nirvana
Harvest time: Oct 1-15
Latitude of grow: 49 Degrees
Location: Central Ontario, Canada(Optional)
Average yield: 45 grams(or 1.5 Ounces)
Mold?: Some mold
Potency:Good indica stone
Year of grow 2004
Also a description of how the plant was grown, fertilizers used, bud taste, quality and type of stone, any problems noticed, what determined your harvest time, etc.
A pic or two would be good if available, but please make them on the small side if you can, super large pics take up too much room in the guide and won't be included, sorry.
Also, if you have a grow diary featuring the strains you are reporting, feel free to leave a link.
As members contribute reports, I'll repost them to the top of the page, come on people, lets get rolling!
Here is a empty report format to copy and paste:
Strain/Breeder:
Harvest time:
Latitude of grow:
Location:
Average yield:
Mold?:
Potency:
Year of grow:
Feel free to post personal strains and medical clones, but only commercially available strains will be included in the guide.
One thing I will ask is don't post your report here until it is complete as you would like it posted in the main guide, I won't repost reports that are listed as incomplete, and because of this there may be many reports I'll forget to check back on.
Also, please write your dates with the month written as a word, Americans write dates with the month first, day second, year third, while Europeans write their dates with the day first, and month second. A finishing date like 9-10-07 may have me wondering if the finish was Sept 10th or Oct 9th.
If you know your USDA hardiness zone, please post it!

After nearly 3 years in existance.............
the outdoor strainguide has documented the grows of many strains from many growers. It has occurred to me that some strains really stand out, I thought it might be nice to make a short list of strains that have received good marks from several growers in this guide. Sadly some of these strains are not available at the time of this posting.
Good bets for harsh short season Northern or high altitude climates
Haley’s Comet, Flying Dutchman
MDZ Sour 60, Mdanzig
Mid-September finish
Easy Sativa, FemaleseedsGreat mold resistance, decent high for a early finisher
Late September finish
Maroc/Female seeds(some reported mold problems though)
Mandala #1, Mandala seeds
October finish
Aurora Indica, Nirvana Very good potency
Afghan, Nirvana Good marks for a classic Indica strain
Sensi Star, Paradise Seeds Good rep for potency -Winner of the High Life Cup 1999!
C99, GN03 collection Good reputation for mold resistance and strong up high
White Rhino, Nirvana Good rep for potency
White Widow, Dutch passion seeds & Greenhouse seeds Classic strain with great rep for potency

Strain/Breeder: Brenda's skunkx NL, East Island seeds

Latitude of grow: 38
Location: Appalachia
Average yield: 3.5oz on the auto and 8 on the later
Mold?: none
Potency: I was impressed- 8
Year of grow 2oo7
Growers notes: The autoflower, there were 2 females, finished really early. there were also 2 non autos which yielded pretty good. Good taste, minty. My first autoflowerer and I recommend it . I'm working the autoflower male of this strain.

Strain/Breeder: Dutch treat x Hash plant, East island seeds
Harvest time: July 26
Latitude of grow: 38
Location: Appalachia
Average yield: 6 oz good
Mold?: Mine didn't but I believe that it will.
Potency:7
Year of grow 2007
Growers notes: thanx to the starving deer, I was only able to finish this one autoflowerer pheno. I don't know what the non pheno would do. I feel it could get mold due to the construction of the buds. Very branchy. good vigor. This was the second auto i tried last year. It wasn't as good as the BSNL but still wasn't bad. It was worth the 50 bucks

Strain/Breeder:Early wonder skunk, Solar warrior seed co. (not around now I was told)
Harvest: Late august till oct. depending on when put in ground
Latitude of grow: 45N
Yield: from seed 4-6 oz from clone 3-4 oz
Potency: is high !
Smell is somewhere between a skunk and really bad breath ! for real
This has become my fav outdoor strain. It does fairly well indoors as well. The name is deceiving as there is no skunk in it. There is ruderalus bred in there so about 75 % auto flower at about 18". Hard to clone because of this but the cuts catch up quick in flowering. I cannot find any more of these beans and would love some more so if anyone has info Please help me out! This is my only picture I have loaded. its all one plant from clone in 2006.

Strain/Breeder:Maroc, Female Seeds
Harvest time: End August
Latitude of grow: 46N
Average yield: 2-5 OZ
Mold?: Very little due to early harvest.
Potency: Very Strong and Very Resinous
Year of grow: 2006
Fastest plant I've ever seen, has well developed buds by early July. Starting indoors is a must if you want big plants as they naturally have a very short Veg time. They do not react the best to Top/Fim as its a Main stem plant.

Strain/Breeder: Maroc, Female Seeds
Harvest time: Late August
Latitude of grow: 41N
Location: NE
Average yield: 2-5 oz's
Mold?: None, due to early harvest
Potency:Earthy stone, somewhat strong/subtle
Year of grow 2007
Grower notes: Very Good Beginner Strain to grow. Started from seed outdoors. FF Grow Big used during veg. Plants grew from 3'-5'..Medium Yield..
The Low Down: Not the best tasting pot. Gets you high. Gets the Job done.

Strain/Breeder: Nigerian Nightmare, Reeferman seeds
Harvest time: almost autoflowering/ end aug/early sept
Latitude of grow:44N
Location:northern midwest usa
Average yield:2-3 oz's per plant
Mold?: alot of bud rot/ mold...budded when it was hot and humid
Potency:6-7/10
Year of grow:06
Notes: Nigerian nightmare starts to flower shortly after you put it out, very photosensitive...my yields were probably small due to the fact i put a bunch of small clones off mothers around mid June and they started flowering about 2 weeks later. bud clustering was strange, it grew buds on top of buds. smell and taste is very old school...skunky/grassy herb...best way i can describe it. she got some real nice purple and violet colors and they weren't due to cold temps since it was flowering in late June through august.

Strain/Breeder: Nigerian Nightmare ,Reeferman Seeds
Harvest time: July 1st (shocked into flower)
Latitude of grow: 36 N
Location: Temperate mountain region
Average yield: I only had one girl
Mold?: Very little, insignificant
Potency: 7/10
Year of grow: 2007
Growers Notes: The seeds were germed on March 1st and the lone female was put outside on May 1st (damn, am I regimented or what?). As advertised, this shocked the plant into flowering. She was pretty small and skinny, but she bulked up and grew quite a bit during flower. It wasn't placed in full sun, she got probably 6 or 7 hours of direct light and quite a few more of filtered light. When she was chopped, she probably had 10% amber trichs at the most. After a jar cure, she smells really sweet and fruity. If you smoke a little bit it's kind of a euphoric dizzying buzz that can impair your visual frame rate, if you know what I mean... smoke hard and it's pretty damn trippy. I like it. It's great for losing yourself in some good music .
