This strain sounds like that you dont even have to water the plant because it waters itself :wink: Only bad thing with this strain is that it creates very strong addiction and you will rob people to get money for it!!!

No more things to say than this: Drug propaganda is just fucked up shit and then they even got nerve to think that young people swallow all this shit! I think that this bullshit propaganda just leads people to hard drugs, because after they have tried herb and notice that it doesnt make you addicted they will maybe try heroin or shit like that because they think that all heroin propaganda is bullshit too!!!

With all the Mexicans out of work on the drug plantations, expect a big rush of immigration to the U.S. Maybe our Mexican drug gangs in cali or the VietNamese drug gangs in Washington and BC will give them jobs.

what i do wonder is if the little orcs who writte those 'master pieces', do not realize that they also expose how evil our goverments are, in that it tells the reader (us!) that it is ok and good to go fumigate with hardcore toxic chemicals huge ammounts of rural areas all over the world? isn't this chemical war-fare and forbidden by int.laws?
moreover, so this so called hybrid hard to kill plant (bullshit again) is not getting killed so the plants were left alive and got to be harvested, that the final product sold to the regular citizen will be loaded with very potentially dangerous chemicals to smoke!

these type of news/articles/propaganda are very usual, and they are rather infamous in colombia, peru and bolivia, they know quite a bit about the chemical war going on against gardeners! it is crazy really.

Mexico today produces about 23 million pounds of marijuana and just over 50,000 pounds of black tar heroin. With a GDP of just over 1 trillion, drug sales account for alot of Mexico's revenue. If the cops ever put them all out business it would hurt the economy and the cops paycheck, since most of them are on the take. Notice that they wouldn't let the soldiers take their cellphones. They didn't want them to call home and tell the family where to come pick up some pot.

Good thing we grow our own, Paz. I wouldn't want to smoke that shit.

There is no such thing of course as this special hybrid. Its likely these soldiers came in and chopped down all these crops but were not very careful to get every single leaf and shoot. Similarly spraying is not 100% successful at killing a plant even if it has reletively sensitive leaves like MJ. Especially arial spraying is likely to kill just the top of the plant. You have to literally cover every surface of the plant to ensure certain death. Even if the pesticide is systemic, the plant can go into stasis from shock until the pesticide has been degraded and/or washed away. It can then begin to resume growth from the remaining meristems. Sativas being vigorous as they are, it wouldn't surprise me at all if they grew back. How they concluded it was a special hybrid I dont know, but it sure is a special plant; its called Cannabis Sativa.

i hear you pops, although there are well documented cases in colombia were deformities in new born humans and other species are directly linked with the chemicals sprayed over drug plantations. not only that, but the areas most affected are areas where some of the oldest surviving tribes on the whole planet still exist and live traditionally, i.e: sierra nevada de santa marta.
what is ridiculous is that the tribes only grow coca for tribal consumption only, and are categorically opposed to the making and refining of coca into cocaine. they have expressed it through the media for ages now.
drug plantations are also present in the areas though; but these are the less affected. go figure.

It's possible... but I think it's far more likely that this entire news story is completely fabricated in every sense. Propaganda designed to instill fear in people who already fear cannabis. The entire story reads like b.s., IMO.

It's propaganda, and rather clumsy propaganda, at that!

My question is, "Is this just a scam to validate using fusarium to wipe out cannabis plants?" Although this was about Coca and is 6 years old, this article makes an interesting read. http://www.organicconsumers.org/ge/GEherbicide.cfm I found the last sentence to be particularly telling! Fusarium is also the genus of the fungus that caused blindness in humans when some contact fluid was contaminated. On the other hand, a tough, herbicide-resistant, quickly maturing cannabis could be a boon to the cannabists all over the world! Gotta wait and see which way it goes (providing it is true and not just DEA pawn propaganda!).

thanks for the replies we all seem to have come to the same conclusion. It's too bad that most people will read that and think it has to be true. Hopefully some mourning these people will wake up and start thinking outside the box. Untill then, U.S. cannabis lovers will never be able to freely cultivate this great plant without fear of prosecution. So we grow it anyways......

Personally I am "Tending To believe" at lest "Parts Of This Story"

It's Been Common Knowledge In The Marijuana Community, That For The
Last 3+ years or so. That The Mexicans Pot Growers have been working
"Very Hard" To "Improve The Quality Of Their Mexican Marijuana". So
This "Appears" To Be The First Finding Of Their Hard Work "On The
Plant Genetics" Improving The Genetics Of The Mexican Marijuana Plants Quality.

The seed banks & The Longtime Growers themselves, "All Work To Improve Their Genetic Strains", So why should Not the Mexican Drug Cartels Do the same thing, They only have 1/2 a Billion Dollars A Year Or So each year in incoming Money To Invest IN Improving The Quality Of Their Pot , & Improving Their "Products Quality" Which "If Success Able" will only help them in the end, To Make Even "More Money" Each Year, Better Qaulity Product Gets them a "Higher Price" For their Products Each Year.

olp, you raise a valid point. and yes, it could be possible that such a strain could have been developed. it seems that the coca growers in bolivia were also able to breed a plant that resisted the spraying of chemicals. it was through selective breeding, by choosing and selecting over and over the most resistent plants, etc... it also turns out that the more resistent the plants became, they also yielded more with higher alkaloid contents. and to do these sort of things they do build well equiped labs, hire knowledgeable people, etc...

what makes me doubt the story is that if these mexican cartels who export grass to the north, don't seem to care much about the quality, specially in such big grows. you'll get heavily seeded buds, some fungus and mold as well. badly dried, badly cured, badly packed, badly transported, bad quality on arrival. so i just don't see these guys doing any selective breeding.

coca farmers in the south, now that is a whole other ball game.

the article is implying that the hybrid is cross between marijuana and opium poppy, but that hybrid is really resistant to pesticides.

when genetically engineering plants they usually put a anti-pesticide gene so they can spray pesticides on the plants to see which ones took in the new genes. I'm not saying they did genetically engineer it but, maybe.
